Great polite lad Dan helped me with finding a certain hinge for my gate and the correct size screws and wall plugs to use on concrete and the fence posts. Such a knowledgable lad and was smiling before I even approached him and that’s why I chose to ask him the questions I needed answered. Great store and great worker.

Had a great experience at Wickes Perry Barr thanks to Teresa. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and really helpful throughout my visit.
Teresa clearly takes a lot of pride in her work and seems to know every corner of the store. Sometimes it feels like she's the queen of Wickes – in the nicest possible way!
She did keep calling me "sir," which became a bit of a running joke by the end of the visit. By the time I left, I felt like I'd been knighted in the paint aisle, with Teresa presiding over the ceremony using a roller pole as her ceremonial sword.
Excellent customer service, plenty of laughs, and a genuinely pleasant shopping experience. Thank you, Teresa!

I have had some great help from Ancela today. She has helped me find the items I was looking for and assisted me with a live demonstration of how to use them! Very friendly, very knowledgeable and a valuable asset to this store!

I do not recommend kitchen design services at Wickes Perry Barr. The level of professionalism was very poor, and when problems appeared after the design was completed, they avoided taking responsibility — including the store manager.

I felt compelled to write this review personally to share the wonderful and truly exceptional service we received from one of your colleagues, Ms. Karen Khan, at the Wickes Perry Barr (Birmingham) branch.

After purchasing our very first home in December 2024, my family and I went through a stressful few months — from conveyancing delays to issues with contractors. When we began looking for kitchen units, we visited several places before reluctantly booking an appointment with Wickes for a quote. At that point, my wife and I were feeling quite apprehensive about making any big decisions.

That all changed when we met Karen. From the start, she was empathetic, patient, and genuinely interested in understanding our needs. She listened carefully, guided us through the pros and cons of different designs, costs, and fittings, and even visited our home to help tailor the layout. Her meticulous attention to detail — down to creative ideas like using the bin units for rice storage — left us both amazed at how culturally aware and thoughtful she was.

When our Wickes kitchen was finally delivered, there were a few missing items and challenges with our fitter. However, Karen stayed in touch throughout, offering solutions and reassurance at every step. She was a true beacon of support, turning what had been a long and arduous home renovation journey into a genuinely positive experience.

Thanks to Karen, our new kitchen doesn’t just look beautiful — it feels like the heart of our home.

Karen khan from Perry Barr branch assisted us design of a kitchen project and took time to understand our requirements and suggested on best option. Appreciated the friendly approach and looked after as a customer.

We went to our local Wicks to look for a complete new bathroon.
We were introduced to a lady named Karen, a menber of the design team. We explaned what we would like are new bathroom to look like, and she guided us in the right direction.There was no hard sell, trying to push things that we didn't want, she was very helpful showing us what to choose and match up.
Karen came out the same day to measure up and gave us a quote the same day, telling us delivery days for our goods and sorting out a installation team.
The whole process was 5 star from start to finish,we would just like to mention also, Nav and Prince what a team! Would recomend to anyone for their work ethick, thank you.

We came to wickes to get a plan for our kitchen and seen to by Karen Khan. She designed our kitchen better than we could have. She also assigned us a brilliant builder who we couldn't fault, Andy. Overall, we are very happy with Karen and Andy and love our new kitchen. Thank you :)

Very pleasant experience with Andre. He was knowledgeable of the Wicks products and made some great design recommendations. He was not a pressure salesman, he was a friend who made you feel comfortable. Definitely enjoyed working with him . He was on time for the appointment and more importantly listened to what I was saying and requesting.

First time at the Perry Barr store...wow!
Massive store, with way more choice than usual branches.
Aisles are wide, so none of that squeezing past other shoppers (if you know, you know).
Lots of parking and the store is immaculately clean.
It's more on par with a bandq, IKEA.
Though, for people that actually do construction.
Finally shock upon shock...the staff were cheerful and really nice. Not sure if I was happy, shocked or confused with my shopping experience. What I do know, I now have a regular store. It's twice as far as my local branch, but definitely worth the extra miles.
A+ all round.

I visited the Perry Barr for the 3rd time this evening. I needed to secure my display stand for use in the morning.
On my 3rd visit I decided to take the stand with me as I had purchased the wrong screws. Richard was very kind and patient with me. He not only suggested an alternative screw to the original but also secured the stand for me. He explained that the longer screw could split the board and after I gave him the go ahead, he gently screwed it in without any damage.

We had a bathroom installation from Wickes Perry Barr. The shower bath was delivered damaged and was replaced. The installation was completed in January but we have the damaged bath in our front garden and all attempts to get it picked up are ignored. They only want your money. I am going to cancel the direct debit until it is picked up.

Had a call from Matt, Operations Manager at Perry Barr. As soon as he became aware of the situation, Matt escalated the problem and gave me a firm pick up date. Matt was very apologetic. I accept the apology and all is well.
