Made a visit to wickes today was very disappointed as at least 4 or 5 assistants or managers discussing how everything went at christmas with no-one interested to assist very poor impression to customers,only person that was helpful was the chap at the till i think he maybe called andy

We booked an apppointment 4 weeks ago to have a home bathroom consult. On the day it was a no show. Phoned the branch who informed me the consultant no longer worked for them. Thanks Wickes.

I would have given Wickes no stars if I could. I’ve been helping a 77 year old neighbour to try and reach a resolution with Wickes, something that’s proven difficult and frustrating at every turn. I’ve never experienced an approach like it. This is an unusual review as what I’ve decided to do is share my most recent email to Wickes, which has been rejected, in the hope this prevents anyone else experiencing what my poor neighbour has. Here goes, I’ve removed her name. I am writing on behalf of M in response to your recent communication. To be clear, this email does not constitute acceptance or rejection of your offer. As per your stated timeline, we understand we have five days remaining to respond formally.
It is deeply ironic that throughout this escalation process, Wickes has consistently failed to provide M with any clear timescales—yet now imposes strict deadlines on a vulnerable customer. This imbalance is both disappointing and telling.
Having worked in customer services for over 30 years, I can confidently say this has been the most appalling experience I’ve encountered. Wickes has repeatedly demonstrated a disregard for M’s wellbeing and for basic principles of accountability and care. The amount offered as an apology is frankly insulting, especially when contrasted with your CEO, David Wood’s stated commitment to a customer-centric ethos—a claim that rings hollow considering M’s experience and the many similar complaints visible in public reviews.
Your response fails to address several key concerns, including:
M’s direct feedback your Installation Manager, regarding what she was willing to pay for.
The unused fixtures and fittings still occupying her dining room, which she has been billed for.
Serious concerns about the legitimacy of the company you authorised for installation.
The troubling fact that M was signed up for credit without paperwork, signature, or informed consent.
M remains willing to pay for the following:
Toilet
Shower tray
Taps
Waste system
Shower screen
Delivery charges
50% of the Wickes installation cost
Based on her calculations, this totals £xxxx.xx after deducting the deposit.
This offer reflects a generous and sincere attempt to resolve matters, especially considering the material distress, disruption, and emotional trauma M has endured. Your Installation Manager witnessed firsthand the impact—M in tears on multiple occasions. Please do not underestimate what this has meant to her. She saved carefully from her widow’s pension, trusting Wickes to deliver a bathroom that would support her needs as she ages, and daily tasks become more difficult.
We ask that you review this proposal in the spirit it is intended and respond by close of business today, in line with the turnaround time you have set.
