If I could give it zero stars I would. This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever had dealings with. From start to finish my bathroom fitting was a disaster, I was even left with two safety issues, one being electrical and a high risk of causing a fire. The customer service team just tell you what you want to hear, no communication between the manager and the person dealing with the issue. I had to pay to get an electrician in to see what was happening when my shower kept tripping, My shower screen failed to have support so one slight bash into it, the whole thing would’ve shattered. It took two months to sort the electrical issues out in the meantime, we had to use my mum’s Bathroom. Considering the price you pay, you don’t expect to be having these issues with a brand-new Bathroom. I’m still waiting for a refund from Wickes as they promised with regards to the electrical checks but yet again I’m still left waiting months later. I would say anyone looking to get anything done to please do your research elsewhere, This wasn’t a little issue, this was an extremely dangerous issue. I wish I never selected wickes to update my bathroom and will never deal with this company again!!
Following wickes reply, I’m happy to give more information. However I haven’t received anything for you to gain information?

Very friendly check out staff in Plymouth store today. Very good response time to earlier email query. Store manager Paul was extremely helpful supporting our Wickes Community Programme application for Sir Robert Geffery's School and Community Farm.

Wickes completely failed to deliver the service they promise. What was sold as a “premium” bathroom installation turned into a nightmare of delays, errors, and incompetence. I was misled about costs, left with missing parts, and forced to resolve problems myself while being passed between departments with zero accountability. Designs were inaccurate, essentials were omitted, and I was unhappy with the final result. Their compensation offer was insulting considering the disruption and stress I went through. Wickes is disorganised, misleading, and utterly unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

Met a really helpful and friendly member of staff at Wickes, Plymouth. Tried to find some floor tiles. It transpires that they are as difficult to obtsin as a Unicorn! She had the patience to speak to colleagues and do her best to locate them to no avail.
So a big thank you to Michelle, a real ctedit to the store.

The part that brings it from 5 to 3 stars is after sales service. Needs improving.
The designer Denise at Plymouth branch is amazing, i had read reviews about her before meeting so pleased that she helped us design an amazing space. We needed to remove the bath but have a big enough shower as my husband has health issues.
Denise listened to our idea and designed a perfect room.
The installer did a fantastic job and we were so pleased.
Few issues including no covers for the wall screws in the cupboard to finish it off (taken 2 months and now I have to contact the supplier) then power switch to shower stopped working in the middle of heatwave so no shower for a few days, impossible to get the customer service team to act quickly. The replacement switch is not the same so looks a bit tacky. Other problem was the moving toilet seat each time we sat on it, took a while but finally got replacement.
Update January 2026, replacement seat is again wearing on the metal part that holds it in place.
If you are buying a bathroom maybe get toilet seat elsewhere as its terrible quality.

Went with Wickes as they were the only company who designed what we wanted. The design phase went very well with Mark Stonehouse doing an excellent job. We used the recommended Wickes installer for the install so that responsibility and liability were not split in case any issues arose.
Original start date was 24th of February by approved installer ProPlumb. Actual start date was 10th of March with initial phase finished by 27th of March. There were a few issues with the install and a ‘snag list’ was issued to Wickes. There was a combination of responsibilities – workmanship issues were clearly ProPlumbs. An issue with whether the tiled bath panels should be recessed as the showroom example or proud as installed required input from Wickes.
Resolution went nowhere with no response despite returns to the Plymouth store and e-mails to Wickes.
Suzanne took over from Gareth as the Customer Experience Co-ordinator and main route of contact was by phone. Earlier E-mails proving to be largely pointless. The experience completely changed following Suzannes involvement. She got back when she said she would and pushed the resolution of the issues forward. Suzanne notified Sophie Atkinson – Installation Manager who attended on the 2nd of May with Andy of Proplumb to view the install and Sophie agreed the scope of the remedial works with ourselves and Andy, certainly to our satisfaction. A return date of the 26th of May was agreed which was brought forward to the 19th of May. Works commenced on the 20th and the majority of the snags resolved by the 23rd. The bath tiling was resolved by installing a timber frame and a reduced backing board thickness to that originally installed. A significant number of installed tiles were removed and replaced. Sink unit and shelving unit were reinstalled to a correct height. Toilet and cistern were reinstalled with cistern lowered properly to the toilet unit. Dean who was part of the original install carried out the remedial works and Dean II was a definite upgrade on Dean I.
The majority of the issues with this project with the exception of the tiling of the bath were predominantly due to ProPlumb. Proplumb have amazing reviews on CheckaTrade but in reality, are quite poor with the exception of Dean II and electrician Andy. Finding a representative of Wickes to take responsibility in the early stages of our install issues was difficult. Until Suzannes involvement communication can only be described as atrocious. Suzanne did a wonderful job and once involved confidence that the issues would be resolved returned.
At the time of writing 24/06/25 an issue with the room threshold and a misalignment of the sink and shelving unit are yet to be resolved. Sophie advised that a new shelving unit is to be ordered by Wickes on the 5th of June. Construction waste from phase II, completed in part on the 23/05/25 has yet to be collected. And despite Whats App messages, call and text to Sophie requesting an update since the 5th of June, we have yet again entered the Wickes dark zone of no communication- similar to the wheel of doom on your computer.
A phone call to Suzanne on the 24/06/25 highlighting the outstanding issues and total lack of communication from Wickes will hopefully resolve, but this has not been a good experience.
Update 25/06/25 : Following the call to Suzanne the waste was removed the next day having not being previously booked and a replacement vanity unit ordered, Lesson learnt - if you have issues get in touch with your Customer Experience Co-ordinator by phone.
Update 07/07/25 : Wickes confirmed that new vanity unit would be delivered on 4/7/25. Proplumb would not attend until 21/07/95 despite the previous issues. A new installer Ryan attended on 07/07/25 and adjusted the existing unit in 20 mins.
The bathroom looks great now it’s finally finished but four months to complete from start of install is way too long.

Within one week we had a Home Visit.. meet up for 3D design and booked and paid for it !! Jack Hunt was polite, friendly , professional and went above and beyond for us ! What we loved was that he wasn’t your usual “sales person” you’d get from other places .. he kept and remained under our budget and are over the moon! Thank you Jack and Wickes!

The woman that served us at the Wickes store, Longbridge Road, Marsh Mills, PLYMOUTH PL6 8AY, was excellent. We've always had very good service but this woman went above and beyond.
There's no name on the receipt but the codes are:

Merchant: 2171452
Terminal ID: 0000000000000000

The lovely woman that served us, I would say, possibly had an Indian background.
Once again, amazing service, thank you.

We went with Wickes for our bathroom installation in the hopes of a smooth experience, but it has been anything far from that.
Our Wickes approved fitter was very unreliable, he turned up at 6pm on day 1 and didn’t commmunicate with us throughout the day about his late arrival. His poor communication continued throughout. After removing the existing bathroom on day 2, he realised he had not arranged for the delivery of the new bathroom, which led to further delays. We had a recurrent leaking toilet which he tried multiple times to fix, eventually successfully. Our bath was fitted at an angle such that water was pooling to the side of the drain. To add, towards completion our boiler broke, which I now understand can happen during bathroom renovations.
Wickes customer service have also been awful throughout this process. They kept promising compensation for the delays and boiler repair, but never delivering. We went through 4 different customer service representatives/managers, each who then had to catch up with what the previous one had promised but failed to deliver. This process started in September 2024, from March 2025 Wickes have stopped responding to emails. We approached the furniture ombudsman for advice on how to proceed in April. Wickes have not responded to their request in almost 2 months, rendering us stuck on how to proceed.

From the initial enquiry ref :- removing my existing bathroom , re- designing a new one ,ordering it , delivery and fitting of the new one ,removal of all waste , full and easy explanation of all costs involved , couldn’t fault the customer services team as first they kept me up to date with all aspects of the project, I felt I was in the hands of a professional company and it was a comfortable experience throughout . I would certainly recommend Wickes to any of my friends and family and would not hesitate to use them in the future , and as a final comment I would like to extend a Well Done to Denise and Ryan with whom I dealt with face to face , Thank you .

Thank you to Denise Bettey at Wickes in Plymouth for a great kitchen design experience. Denise measured up our kitchen quickly and accurately and came up with a balanced design. Our in store appointment was really informative and thorough and any questions we had were answered. We installed our kitchen ourselves but Denise was still on hand to quickly and patiently advise on any queries we had. Thank you- would definitely recommend. The customer service, value for money and quality of the units was very good. From Kristina and Aaron Snell.

We made a few visits to the Plymouth store and arranged a consultation with Jack. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful to us and took time to explain various options for a new kitchen. He went through the design process and we couldn’t have been more grateful. He added that we could go away and take time to consider the design and encouraged us to call in if we decided to change any of the layout or product and the whole experience put us at ease. Thank you Jack for your help, guidance, patience and knowledge. We really appreciate you!

We recently had our kitchen designed by Denise Bettey at the Plymouth Wickes store, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
We initially approached another well-known kitchen company, making it clear that we were working to a tight budget. Despite this, their quote came back over £2,000 above what we could afford, and they told us the design we wanted simply wouldn't work.
In contrast, Denise came out to our home herself to measure up and design the kitchen — no two-step process like the other company. She was confident from the start that she could deliver what we were hoping for. When it came to the quote, it was actually cheaper than we expected because she worked with us closely to make smart adjustments at the final design appointment. This meant we got a beautiful, much-improved kitchen that suited our needs perfectly and stayed within budget, allowing us to prepare our house for the market.
Denise made the whole process incredibly smooth — she was always available and super responsive to any questions we had.
If you're looking for a new kitchen, I would absolutely recommend speaking to Denise Bettey at the Plymouth Wickes store!

I made a mistake with an order and ended up with more bags of cement than I needed. The Plymouth Store were excellent in helping me to resolve the situation of the surplus. The staff, as usual, were knowledgeable, friendly and smiling. Thank you for your assistance and understanding. It's greatly appreciated.

We are currently designing a new bathroom, we went into the local Plymouth Store and sat down with Bethany Pender. She was very professional and very helpful with great ideas and solved some tricky design details. She took us around to view the products and we were very happy with it all. Our design was printed out so we could keep a record of how it will look. All in all highly recommend Bethany if you want any kitchen/bathroom designs done. Thank you Bethany our bathroom is going to look amazing.
