I loved the show, but...

Sadly, the bad parts made it not worth it.

First - one accessible toilet per whole place, and with 50 people queue in front of it - completely inaccessible.

Second - after realising, that I will have to hold it until reaching closest place with proper facilities, having to wait nearly 2 hours in (from the looks of it) unmanaged traffic.

As a result, I had almost equal time of having fun and having 'if I had known this before, I would not have attended this awful event'.

5 star show, 0 star experience at the end of it.

fireworks were amazing, monster truck rides were great fun, but sadly this could be the last year for us as the fairground rides between 3-5pm were £2 a go but after 5pm price increased to £5 with three kids with us this was far to expensive, we put a 1 year old on a ride, when we asked if mum could stand to the side to make sure she would be okay we were told it would be £5 for mum as well how ridiculous £10 so a child could go on a ride. the food prices was beyond extortionate 2 burgers, 2 chips, 2 drinks cost £32 pounds i know its up to ourselves if we pay these prices but its not fair to put temptation in the way for children and making the parents feel guilty because not all could afford those prices. there was so many people there that i am sure there would have been no loss financially to the vendors to lower the prices so more people could afford to buy from them. Has for leaving the process it was awful, over an hour to leave(i know others took longer to leave as well) but i think if it had been controlled instead of a free for all it would have been so much easier and quicker, we had traffic trying to cut up the side of our queue of traffic just to so slow it all down whilst they tried to cut in everyone wants to get home but you have to expect delays with this volume of traffic leaving an area at the same time, patience from all drivers and someone controlling the traffic would help greatly.

Great evening out. Fireworks amazing and fun fare. Understand everyone's frustrations at lack of traffic management on exit. A 20 car wide drag race down a runway to a supposedly single carriageway exit road is never going to end well. Not helped by impatient muppets trying to gain an advantage by thinking the grass was a shortcut! Unfortunately half expected that to be the case. You definitely need to operate a coned off one way only exit road on the runway next year. Apart from that a great night out

This was the second year we’ve been to this event. The fireworks and light show were spectacular as usual! Loved the ‘light wave’ too! Very well organised. We understand the food venders will charge more for the food but it wasn’t the best for the price we paid! Having said that we will be back next year even though the traffic holdups getting off the airfield were horrendous just like last year! No organisation to direct traffic OUT but loads on the way IN! took us over an hour just to get to the exit! This is the reason I’ve only given 4 stars.

Best firework performance I've been to - lasted over 15 mins. Great vendors and toilets- plenty of them although long queues.

Driving to and from event was carnage. We queued over an hour and a half to get in - which made us miss the lighting of the bonfire, and took us over 2 hours to get out of the event after, despite hanging around for a while after the fireworks. People were making their own lanes on the way out, no security to manage this on the way out like way in. There should have been parking attendants in place to ensure there were no extra lanes being made which slowed everything down.

Just Wonderful. Who knew that a firework display could fill your heart with so much joy!

The firework display at Abingdon was spectacular BUT: need more Food and Coffee stalls; parking and exit traffic is total cahos: they do not have row numbers, so people search for their cars for a long time in the dark around the huge airfield with their phone light; then 12 or more disorganized lines in the airfield converge in a 1 line road funnel…it took 45 minutes to get out! Finally: they DO NOT HAVE LOST/FOUND, do not reply to emails and calls. All the above ruined the experience of the evening

The fireworks were absolutely amazing, never seen anything as good. Great event and will definitely be coming back year after year!

As seekers of great fireworks each year, we can honestly say, 2023's effort was the best we have ever seen - anywhere. Well done to everyone involved! As an event, we were parked quickly and appreciated the regular emails leading up to the event with advice and timings. The man on the speakers did an amazing job of keeping us informed and getting the crowd involved and excited. We liked the request to allow people with small children to leave first after the 6pm display. The rides and stalls were plenty, for all ages and tastes. Couldn't have asked for more. The queues to leave such a large event were completely as expected.

Excellent show well prepared and set out.

Lots to do and yes you have to pay for rides etc and they aren't the cheapest but it's not outrageous either.

No issues with parking however we came early and left straight after the fireworks.

The fireworks were excellent and an enjoyable evening had.

A vegetarian food stall would be welcome.

Abingdon fireworks was obviously a very impressive display, spectacular. However I really wonder if it was worth the negative points of the traffic chaos on leaving, not exactly enjoying the tacky overpriced funfair and having my ears damaged by the excessively loud non-stop audio. DJ was annoying as well. I expect others will have a completely different view and find the loud pop music and funfair to be positives - just not for me. On leaving, the field where cars were parked was so dark with no identifying signs to relocate where you left your car, that I seriously expected there to be an accident with risk of injury to pedestrians. Glad that I got out with my two children safely.

Firework display was amazing but took me almost 2 hours to get out. No traffic control for exiting the display. Will not be going again due to the traffic. Not great fun having 2 kids stuck in the car for almost 2 hours not moving.

Great evening with so much going on and incredible fireworks. Other reviews mentioned bad traffic and expensive food which are valid but we expected and planned accordingly. We've already booked to go back next year

The bonfire and the fireworks display was great, as well as the music. I think the timing of the display was spot on and there wasn’t a huge wait. The food wasn’t very good, we had hog roast which was cold. We also had waffles which were cold and soggy. Unfortunately, the same as some other reviews the traffic after the event was very frustrating. We had a long wait of over an hour to leave the event. I think things could be made better by having some sort of lane system in place. We waited in one of the queues that formed but people to the left of us were driving off the grass and not queuing and trying to get to the front of the queue. People who were in the queue behind us also decided to try and queue jump. This just made the situation worse and it just became a free for all. Also when we finally got to the exit everything converged and people were pushing and shoving and things got quite dangerous with people cutting each other up.

I would highly recommend anyone who has not been, to attend this display. I had read many reviews prior to attending and I can say that it most definitely lived up to my expectation if not beyond. It was one of the best fireworks displays I have ever been to. My daughter and I not only enjoyed the display but there were many fairground rides and food options too. All in all, a fabulous evening out.

Amazing fireworks and an awesome atmosphere. Big and great selection of food and drinks vendors and very well put together show and entertainment all evening! We will not miss the next year show. Congratulations to the entire team.

Fantastic fireworks and value for money, the traffic getting out was a bit of a free for all, maybe you should put extra cones out to create lanes to stop people from trying to cut lanes and jump the queue which was rather frustrating to see so many selfish tw#@s. My biggest moan was the cost of the fair ground £5 per person per ride is excessive there's no need to charge that much its just greed, same for the food and drink its well over priced for the quality you get, all this makes it a very expensive evening for families.

What an evening! So much to do and see. Lots of food stalls and drink tents. Lots of kids rides and hook a duck type entertainment. The music in this section was a little loud and it was hard to converse with the family when trying to discuss what to do next etc. But full of fun otherwise.
Parking up was reasonably easy and getting out was the typical long wait. However that’s the same for any event like this, so we went prepared with a car picnic and books and electronics for the kids. It actually only took us about 45/50 mins to leave the carpark. If you just accept that this is what leaving will be like and prepare, it’s really not that big of a deal.
The main firework display was utterly brilliant. My 7 year old son didn’t stop saying ‘wow’ through the whole thing. I would definitely recommend this event, just ensure you have plenty of layers, hats and gloves etc, prepare the car for the long exit and take cash for the various rides and entertainment (some had card machines, but not all).

The event was great actually and the fireworks were amazing. The organisers advised in advance that it was going to be busy and it was, but it was worth it when we got there! The only real let down was the massive lack of traffic management both before and after. Leaving was carnage and a health and safety nightmare, with cars speeding across the grass areas and down the outside of any queue that people were trying to form. As there was no lighting, and pedestrians also leaving by the same route this is an accident waiting to happen! Really ended the night poorly after a great display.

Amazing firework display and event as usual😃 of course it takes a while to get away from the event, as would any event, well worth it nonetheless 😃✌️
