No leads and no refunds

You pay a significant price (£300-£1000) for the lead. But you cannot buy just one - you need to start by topping up your account by at least £1500 (they do prefer 3000 because it will allow them to scam you for more).

Now this wouldn't be that bad if leads were of any quality.

About 80% of the leads you will get, you will not be able to contact with. So possibly, they're giving you fake numbers and contacts.

"But there's a passback request". Yeah, but passback request is entierly in the YS team decision. Even if you in theory fulfill all the requirements, they're always very eager to find any kind of small things you didn't comply with. And even if you did comply, they will not want to refund you.

So in essence - scam service. As soon as you pay, you should treat money as lost, and in return you will only get leads that you won't be able to contact with.

Note/reply: I am not just talking about last pseudo-lead, but I am talking about overall experience with imaginary non-checked leads and overall experience with service over many months of cooperation attempts.

Timewasters

Asked over 8 times now to stop contacting me
But the calls still faithfully come through from yet another different mobile number.
For a company offering advice on business software systems they clearly dont have or use a CRM - little ironic if you ask me!!

I did originally give them some time and details and they provided a shortlist of clients - I asked to see the shortlist so I could review and Vet before they handed my contact details on.
However - they had already passed my details on without my consent, and had calls from a number of companies that werent relevent for our needs, or that I had already spoken to.
Wasnt helpful and wasted a lot of everyones time
I would avoid at all costs!

Scammers

Here at SS we love all of the wonderfully positive things about the internet and the efficiency & productivity it brings.

Sadly, as we have found out the hard way, Your Shortlist represents what is wrong and how being short-sighted really isn't the way to build and sustain relationships.

You will be promised lots of enticing leads and fancy marketing, as we have found it is all smoke and mirrors.

Do not make the same mistake we did, check the reviews on here and judge for yourselves if the positives ones are genuine or not.

Bogus Leads, if we have not said it yet - Avoid.

AVOID

I was approached as a customer initially (e.g. someone buying leads from them), but then I experienced the service as a prospect looking for software....the lead that was published didn't match what we had discussed, they didn't take permission to share the requirements with potential vendors. After this i got a steady steam of calls asking what else I was planning to spend money on as they wanted to publish these requirements as leads to their vendors......leads they are selling have zero quality/qualification.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - the leads are terrible, a complete waste of money. Last time we "invested" in leads they kept our money and closed down our account. Today they have taken money from our account without our knowledge.

Please Read - Stay Away

Unfortunately we are unable to select no stars so 1 will have to do.

I would like to warn off any potential customers to Your Shortlist, you will come to regret 'partnering' with them to provide leads.

'Leads' in the most loosest of terms - if you have anyone with a tiny bit of commercial nous, you will be able to seek a much better quality of lead generation tool. Of the 25+ leads we have purchased there has not been anything real or tangible to convert into a business opportunity.

As others have said, their pass-back/lead return process is ridiculously lengthy and has clearly been designed in such a way that you feel you have won something when you have a lead return accepted.

Please do not make the same mistake we did with engaging...

Disingenuous - Please be warned.

I am not a fan of writing negative reviews, I tend to believe this takes more energy than to just walkaway and put it down to a bad experience.

In this case with YSL, I feel compelled to warn off any potential investors in their service(s).

After nearly a year with £10k invested, like the other comments on this 1 star thread - 0, zero noteworthy leads.

In all cases the lead information passed through is incorrect, they massively inflate turnover (we have evidence of this with every lead) and in the majority of cases it is clear the information is either gathered via LinkedIn or the potential engagement has tried their best to pass something to YSL just to get them off/away from the phone call.

Over 30 leads purchased with lots of time and effort attempting to make contact and then lots more time and effort to go through the YSL 'passback' process.

I have seen 'refund' mentioned on a number of reviews. I would like to make it clear there are no refunds.

You will sign-up and part money with YSL, then it is 'credit' on 'their' systems. You will not see that money again.

Again, I am just forewarning anyone believing this is a good idea. There are many alternatives out there, many different ways to invest your time and money.

paid ~£5k yet to find good leads,

We invested around £5,000 with YourShortlist, expecting “qualified opportunities” as promised in their sales material. Unfortunately, the quality of leads has been very poor. Many prospects either stated they were not interested, had not authorised their details to be shared, or were completely unresponsive despite multiple outreach attempts.

The “passback” (lead return) process is unnecessarily restrictive. For example, if a prospect cannot be reached, you can only return the lead between days 25–30 after it’s assigned, and only if you have exactly the required number of calls and emails logged. This means that even leads that are obviously unsuitable from the outset can’t be returned until you’ve wasted valuable time on them.

In practice, the combination of low-quality leads and the inflexible return rules has made it extremely difficult to achieve a return on investment. After months of trying, we are yet to see a single viable lead progress to a serious engagement.

In my view, YourShortlist needs to improve its lead validation process, be more transparent about how prospects are sourced and qualified, and offer a more practical passback policy that protects partners from paying for unsuitable data.

Please stop call me!

I downloaded a white paper on ERP systems two or three years ago, and have had a steady stream of calls to waste my time with since then.

Today I had yet another call, had a conversation and appear to have been sold as a pre-qualified lead to some who wants to talk to me about cloud computing tomorrow.

A complete waste of everyones time

This is a scam entity Do not invest…

This is a scam entity Do not invest with this company the leads they send you are not leads or are defunct leads I have had many situations where either upon contacting the lead supplied was told they had either no requirement or it was a defunct lead. This company has little or no customer service either Be warned do not spend money

Positive experience thus far...

We have been working with Your Shortlist for about 3 months. It is early days, so far the experience has been a positive one. Quality of the referrals that are put forward for consideration are well qualified and give us a clear enough insight as to whether they are a good fit for our skill set. The process works well, our account manager is responsive and helpful and we have engaged in some positive projects. Some referrals have been slow to engage or have delayed engagement due to change in timelines, etc, on the whole Your Shortlist has managed these exceptions quickly and fairly.

We are a recent partner of…

We are a recent partner of YourShortlist, but so far we've had more contact with potential clients than we have before, using regular marketing methods.
Megan, our account manager, is lovely and has always been very quick to respond to any queries and flags any new leads she thinks would be a good fit for our company.
My only downside would be that there is sometimes an issue with miscommunication, but we have received credit back for anything incorrect the majority of the time.

You can select your companies offerings…Great lead generation addition

You can select your companies offerings so you get emailed relevant leads.
Then you can select leads you want so only paying for what you select knowing that lead only goes to max 4 companies.
Leads seem well qualified and customer service has been great, had couple passbacks when lead wasnt as stated (eg project on hold) and got refund with no issues.
Cost per lead varies from £200-500 which is why 4 star rating, if leads werent so pricey would say 5, used them 4 mths now and would recommend

Your Shortlist partner

We have been a Your Shortlist partner for over 2 years. The whole process is straightforward and works well. Our account manager is always available and helpful and they are always keen to improve their understanding of our processes and needs to improve the lead data that we are sent.

Been a "partner" for a couple of years

Been a "partner" for a couple of years. Had some leads previously, but had no leads recently as the company appeared to have gone into liquidation. It had however phoenixed into a new business with the same name. I was told that "as a gesture of goodwill" the credit was carried across, but just been told it has now expired. So the bottom line is as a partner you pay a subscription, with the plan that you use that to buy leads... BUT, if they don't provide good quality leads within a given period, they will write off your credit... an interesting business model! Succeed by failing!
