Was repeatedly misled about how far away the taxi was, resulting in me missing a train I had paid £115 for. Do. Not. Use.

Used for coming back from own in 2 nd week of July.Driver arrived promptly . She had a “ no smoking” sticker inside but we were hit by extremely over powering smell of RECENT smoke inside the car ( well couldn’t have been a passenger,going by the sticker). That’s an unpleasant observation but hasn’t influenced the rating.

One of the worst driving ever by a taxi driver ,. In 20 and 30 zones she did speeds upto 40-55 KMs. Drove with one hand permanently on the gear stick . Just flew through the streets. Glad arrived safe and was pleased to get out.

We had used them a couple of times 2 years ago and on both occasions near misses with cyclists by 2 different drivers . So had stopped using them but decided to give them a go. Don’t wish to use again.

I was visiting York to attend the wedding of my god-daughter and Paul and the team at York Taxis couldn’t have been more helpful.

I booked a taxi to collect me from Westow to the Hospitium and the return. Ed - my first driver - was so patient especially when I asked him to return back to collect my medication. We hit traffic and he instinctively knew a different route so I wouldn't be late.

My return journey was brought forward because I had 'crashed' (too tired) and they had someone collect me immediately. They knew there wasn't many lights in the museum garden so he flashed his car lights to help me. 10/10.

Update : Received a call today to advise (3/9) that I have left my car keys in the car which had been found by a customer. York Cars are posting them to me in Kent. Now that's what I call service!

I booked a dog friendly taxi a day prior to take my dog to the vet for his vaccination. When the driver arrived to pick us up he insisted I putt he dog in the boot. Not a hatch back car area s saloon car boot !!!!! I said I had ordered a dog friendly taxi he agreed I had and added when Hera Keshia dog in the car it goes in the boot. I insisted that the dog sit in the car well next to me and insisted it was illegal and bad welfare to put a dog in a boot. Shocked this was yotkcars and taxis definition of a dog friendly taxi. Do not support them

I use this firm all the time and never had an issue, but on the 22/08/23 I had the worst experience with a taxi driver, he was rude towards not only me but my children who are only 2 and 5 years old. It was completely inappropriate, an unnecessary. If I get designated this driver again I will no longer use this firm.

Polite, on time, the staff were friendly. Keep doing that.

Absolutely horrific - reckless, dangerous driver who sped on residential roads (50mph in 30 zone), drove at 80mph in torrential rain on M62, overtaking on inside lane and putting other cars in danger. Filed a police report against them for dangerous driving - DO NOT USE - insanely expensive, dangerous. Complained to owner who denied accountability. Also force you to pre pay. DANGEROUS and illegal business practice demanding pre payment so you have no recourse when things go wrong.

DO NOT rely on their pre-booked service. It seems that if you pre book for a certain time, they don’t allocate a car until that time. Not too bad if the car is three minutes ‘round the corner; but more often than not you can wait anything from 15 - 30 minutes past your booked time.

They take your money and do not turn up on a pre-booking avoid, shocking!!

I was very disappointed in this company. The receptionist at my hotel (Novotel York) booked a taxi for me for 11.30am on 8.7.23. The booking was made at least two hours before 11.30. It was agreed for that time. The taxi did not arrive at 11.30. After a few minutes wait the receptionist re-rang the taxi company to be told that they would send a taxi 'as soon as possible'. The taxi eventually arrived at 11.55am. That is simply not good enough. One of the basic reasons for using a taxi is to have reliable timed transport. On this occasion York cars failed abysmally.

Hotel called and taxi to university campus. Nice enough driver who gave us a card to call for our return. I called and booked taxi with a human … she said they very busy and 45 min wait… so I booked, Killed 45 mins - then went and waited at agreed collection point. I called up numerous times when taxi didn’t appear… the auto reply said they couldn’t confirm the pick up time. The human kept hanging up on me!!! So after waiting a further 45 mins on the side of a road, we walked the half an hour back to hotel. Appalling service. And to add insult to injury… two days later I get a text to say my driver is 5 mins away!!!!! Get your act together York Car Taxi’s we are far from impressed .

Not sure if the owners are aware of this but one driver working for you caught on camera put three children under age three and one other child in back of the taxi no child chairs not even seat belt across them while the adult sat in front passenger seat well done driver disgusting obviously safety is not an issue I nor family and friends would never use this taxi company ever again

Just witnessed one of your cars drive through a red light at Hopgrove roundabout and then through a can and a bottle out of his window onto the road!!!! Have caught it on our dash cam so will be reporting to relevant authorities!
We have long since stopped using this firm having experienced reckless drivers and disgusting vehicles!!!

Absolute road maniacs. Dangerous and agressive drivers. Avoid!

appalling....booked to take a group of 6 into york including my elderly parents 1st driver in fairness was polite friendly and helpful but taxi in my opinion was knackered and smelt of stale smoke.....rtn driver was arrogant unhelpful drove the cab like boy racer and the taxi stunk of cigarettes and was in a worse condition than the 1st.......i would avoid like the plague

If I could 0 review I would. Extremely dangerous drivers that have no clue about the highway code or how to drive!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Appalling, waited 2hrs for a dog friendly Taxi, when it turned up the driver looked at us drove away, wouldn’t answer his phone, 100% Ignorant.
If he doesn’t want a dog in his taxi, that’s fair enough, but don’t advertise yourself as dog friendly and at least open your window and say No…..again… 100% ignorant.

Booked this company for a taxi to the train station, they never showed up.....

Avoid this company at all expenses. They already got poor ratings. I wish I had read the review before I used them. Not only was the taxi late, but their customer service was very rude. If there is a 0 rate, I would have given them. If you want to avoid stressing yourself out, you must avoid them.
