Please, never use this company, kept saying they would be 10 minutes, 1 hour later still never turned up, why tell lies, kept saying york was grid locked. Ended up getting bus, no traffic

Our hotel pre-booked York Cars by telephone to take us to an important and time critical appointment this morning. Car never showed up, and when the hotel chased it was told they wouldn't be coming anytime soon as there were no cars available. So cross - why take the booking? AVOID.

Failed to turn up on time which meant I missed my train. Can't get through to talk to an actual person, all automated service. Do not use.

Firstly this is the companys blurb on the website not my words.

Do not use the most unreliable and totally rude lying operators we booked a cab 13.30 at 1340 i went to the office and a lady told me it was around the corner showed it on the screen . Unles it takes 23 mins to drive 400yds then i doubt it when it turned up the driver said he was unaware and yes was in traffic but guess what on the way to the station it took 2 mins no traffic either way another lie .what alarmed me was the comment that the time you book does not gaurentee they will be there on time but 25 mins is a joke i said to the lady if i miss the train i will send them the bill she said good luck with that love BE WARNED

Completely disgusted. If this is how 8ve been disrespected, after using this company over any others, always tipping and using you as least twice a week 5u3n you haven't a clue about customer service.

I will NEVER book with you again.

On the 18th of November 2021 it was my daughter graduation, i booked a taxi through the automated service, to take my disabled mum from the university to minster, as she cannot walk that far, for the taxi not to show up, and when i phoned to find out why it hadn't showed up, the automated service wouldn't let me to talk to an actual person to find out where the taxi was , and kept asking if i wanted to book another taxi. It spoilt our day, as my mum never made it to the minster. Get some people actually working for you.

I ordered a taxi the night before because I was going to a wedding!! I rang them up 10 min late they said no cars near you I'll send one when they are near. Hence I did not get to the wedding and no taxi turned up. I would say never use them

Two weeks ago (Aug 15th) we travelled in a taxi owned by York Cars, as soon as the driver left we realised a bag had been left in the car and called the taxi company. They told us the driver had turned his phone off and hadn't been back to work (therefore shouldn't have had any passengers). The next day when we still hadn't heard back I cancelled my bank cards, remotely wiped my phone and ordered a replacement SIM card. Despite all these precautions I found out that my bank cards had been used, my phone was also later hacked, and attempts were made to access my online banking accounts. The taxi company called us yesterday and the taxi driver claims he knows nothing about about the bag.

What a rude unprofessional disjointed outfit this lot are….booked a taxi for the races 10 days in advance and no taxi turned up… told them it wasn’t good enough when I rang them ( they didnt have the professional manner to call me) and I said why hadn’t they rang me and all I got from staff was “ you are being aggressive” when I was stood in front of 5 other people as witnesses…..they put the phone down 3 times without reason!!!! they just didn’t give a damn and this was 3rd time in a week this has happened….. I will be passing this on to all my clients around York and making sure they do not get any business from me and anyone I know…. Disgraceful unprofessional and just a very poor shoddy outfit who obviously have the staff they deserve as this company will go down the pan…..

I was coming home from York yesterday and booked a taxi 5hours in advance for 1pm so I would be on time for my train home. By 12:55 no one had turned up so I rung and asked where they were. They said they can’t dispatch a taxi any time soon because they were full (even though I’d booked at 8am that morning). I explained that I had a train to catch and the lady on the phone was rude and shouted at me down the phone saying it was my fault and I should have booked it for an earlier time. 10 mins later the taxi turns up at the same time as another taxi (who we had just rung 2 mins prior as a last minute back up) we decided to get into the other taxi (not York cars) as York cars had been so rude to us down the phone. I then had lots of missed calls and voicemails from York Cars shouting abuse at me down the phone because we decided to go with the other taxi. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

I was a regular customer not any more
1st time I have been ripped off and the last time
I will use another company from now on deleted your app and I will not reccomend you to local york residents from now on.
One star as that is the lowest I can go
it is actually minus one star.

This evening I ordered a taxi I am a regular customer, but today was stressing circumstances as my daughter was in urgent need of medical care.
The taxi driver that came to collect us was amazing so calm and comforting getting us to the hospital fast and efficiently I can’t thank him enough he is a massive credit to the York taxi cars team 😊

I am a regular customer with you I get 2 or 3 taxis a day and over the last few weeks thay have been late I have been overcharged for them we are now using another firm I do not recommend your firm to nobody👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎💩

Very questionable business. They agree a fee with you for a fare, demand pre payment by card.
Then, when they arrive they demand an extra payment saying that they originally misquoted.
The “extra charge” is just added to your card. You have no choice because you have paid upfront for your fare.
Driver ok, but avoid at all costs. Do not pre pay unless you want to risk extra payments being taken

2 months ago I left them a 1 star review. They contacted me after 2 whole months, asking what the problem was, I explained that half the drivers didn't honor the 10% discount i've had as a loyal customer anymore. They were quick to say we will give you £25 goodwill gesture in sorts of a voucher.

The next day the customer service not only didn't reply to my first message but were rude the next day... wen't on to even BLOCK me, delete their original page and merge it with another one. So that nobody else can see their negative review.

The company is very shady indeed.

I would advise not to use them and use any other private hire firm in YORK but this company. I have all the facebook evidence should they try have this removed.
