The app definitely has issues

The app definitely has issues. Kept trying to top up my parent wallet but the app kept saying payment failed. Low and behold I check my own bank account and the money is been taken but 24hrs later has not shown up in my parent wallet. And because it kept saying payment failed I kept trying over and over again and each time it hadn’t failed it was taking the money from my account. There is literally no one at the other end of the customer service line. You have to leave a msg and wait for a call back or send an email. I think I’ll be canceling the card (which apparently costs $10 to close your account) and just open a regular children’s account.

Not worth it

I’ve had so many issues with this!. Unable to get through to anyone to assist in their contact centre. They say top-ups may take up to an hour & it’s been well over THREE hours and the app still hasn’t been updated! I trying to transfer lunch money over to my child and yet can’t because of this app. Unreliable. They happily take the money out of your account but yet takes FOREVER to load it into the app 😓. Have not had a positive experience with ZAAP. Will definitely be going back to Spriggy!

‘What a clever idea getting a savings card integrated onto a wristband. My son thinks it’s so cool when he taps his wristband to pay for his milkshakes. Very clever indeed.’

Progressive, clever and steps us into the future

Absolutely Fantastic! This clever app takes a lot of the worry out of ad hoc school payments, pocket money, I can see every transaction and it encourages saving too.

My kids love it, it's easy to use for them with the wrist band and it opens up conversations about money.

The user interface is very easy to use and customer service is lovely.

Can't rate it highly enough!

My daughters are so forgetful and was always leaving her pocket money at home. ZAAP has been perfect as I can transfer money straight to her card!
Her school is also going to not let the kids have cash at school so ZAAP will be perfect to use for school lunches and over the weekend!

What was I thinking signing up to this…

What was I thinking signing up to this rubbish.
Its an APP for kids and clearly designed by kids. There is no information about your account online. There are no statements available. No account numbers. Just wrong on every level. The FAQ and answers is an excercise in how to go around in circles. So I have requested that my account be closed and balance transfered back into my bank. Suprise, cannot get through on the phone.
Send email.. the response.. ZAAP generated a CASE number.. and then sent this rubbish back..
Thank you for your email.

To keep in line with current anti-money laundering legislation, we are only able to provide refunds for incorrect orders, or if you are looking to close out your account.

NO, I did not make a mistake. I want my money.
My reply.. I want to close my account, let me know what I need to do..

ZAAP doesn't disclose the full cost

ZAAP doesn't disclose the full cost
ZAAP processed my order for bands as a Cash Advance on my Credit Card. This means purchase payments for bands and most likely the cash transfers into ZAAP will be paying interest at close to 21,24% from the moment it is processed, plus a cash advance fee ($3) per transaction.

ZAAP does not disclose that order or if transfers payments are a Cash Advance in their fee schedule.

ZAAP and Mastercard should be ashamed of themselves for this failure to disclose such a significant impost on ZAAP transactions. This means I will be paying interest charges at 21.24% until the card is paid in full. Already been charged the $3.

Bands still not working

Bands still not working.
Doesn't work
I got bands for Christmas. Two weeks and many emails later I was told what would be an easy fix is still not working. Kids tap bands, get declined I have to pay with my card. I can't send the kids out with these without a backup.

Bands are too big
Bands are very big on my kids. One kid keeps asking if they are really for kids as it is so large.

Expensive
This is an expensive way to give $$ to kids ($2 per child per month + 1.5% of all $$ deposited).

Horrible app

Horrible app, the bands and cards are a good idea but the app is so buggy, it crashes, doesn't update balances, it doesn't show the right buttons and theres no way to get your money back out to another bank account. Avoid at all costs

Zaap is the worst option for kids banking. It’s clunky and super glitchy. I have been waiting for over two weeks for our refund and am always met with excuses. Right now Zaap owes my 15 year old $88.62 - so unacceptable DO NOT SIGN UP!

Unfortunately ZAAP was affected by the global Microsoft outage, which our team worked around the clock to fix to be able to process top-ups and orders that were impacted.

We are very sorry for our deliverability was compromised as a result of this outage and we're doing everything we can to rectify this for customers like yourself.

Our Support Team has confirmed your refund was processed by us on 9/10/2020 to the account from which your original payments were made. If this hasn't appeared in your account, we recommend getting in touch with your bank.

We're sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced and wish you all the best.
