Very disappointing experience with A Farley Country Attire.
I ordered a Barbour hood on Thursday 3 September at 19:39 and paid £4.95 for delivery.
A Farley's own delivery information states:
“Express Delivery – Within 5 Working Days”
“£4.95 on orders under £99”
That is the delivery service I paid for, and is confirmed in my order confirmation.
I completely accept that my order was placed after their stated 2pm collection cut-off, so I would not expect it to begin processing until the following working day, Friday 4 September. I was aware of this fact when my order was placed.
The problem is that by Wednesday 9 September I had received nothing beyond the original order confirmation. There was no dispatch confirmation, no DPD tracking information and no proactive update explaining what was happening with the order.
As I needed the hood before going away in the early hours of Saturday morning, I contacted A Farley to ask for an update.
Their response stated that my order had been placed after the 2pm cut-off and therefore began processing on the following working day. However, they then described my order as having been placed using their “4–7 working day delivery service” and told me that the latest expected delivery date was 15 September.
This is where I have a serious problem.
I did not pay £4.95 for a service advertised as 4–7 working days. Their own delivery information states that £4.95 purchases "Express Delivery – Within 5 Working Days".
Even allowing for the fact that I ordered after the cut-off, I cannot reconcile a delivery date of 15 September with an advertised service of “within 5 working days”.
If Friday 4 September is counted as the first working day, five working days takes us to Thursday 10 September. Even if A Farley treats Friday solely as a processing day and does not begin counting the five-working-day delivery period until Monday 7 September, five working days takes us to Friday 11 September.
The 15 September date they have given me instead corresponds to seven working days from Monday 7 September. In other words, they appear to be applying the slower 4–7 working day service mentioned in their email to an order for which I paid the £4.95 Express Delivery – Within 5 Working Days charge, but only if they didn't bother processing my order for a full working day first.
Had I been told at checkout that the order might not arrive until 15 September, I would simply have purchased elsewhere. I ordered when I did specifically because the advertised delivery timescale meant the item should arrive before it was needed.
What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the parcel had apparently not even been dispatched when I contacted them. This therefore wasn't a DPD delay or a parcel being held up in transit, it's simply that the order has not yet left A Farley's warehouse.
I've now had to order the same hood elsewhere using next-day delivery to ensure that we actually have it in time.
I subsequently asked A Farley to cancel and refund the order while it remained undispatched. At the time of writing, I am still waiting for confirmation that this has been actioned.
For me, the fundamental issue is simple: I paid £4.95 for a delivery option advertised by A Farley as “Express Delivery – Within 5 Working Days”, yet when I chased my undispatched order they told me I was on a “4–7 working day delivery service” and gave me a latest delivery date consistent with that slower service, but only if they waited a full working day extra to process my order. Despite paying for Express delivery, I've been told I'm on a cheaper service I didn't want for pay for, and even then they added an extra delay on top before processing my order.
This is clearly deceptive from A Farley Country Attire, I will be contacting my card issuer later today to see if they can help me at all, and I will be providing the evidence of A Farley's deception, which is helpfully displayed on their own website.

First time shopping with A Farley and Five Star service from Freya and the team. Although the shoes were not right for me, Freya provided excellent customer service throughout making what could have been a hard work situation in some cases an absolute breeze. She was very polite and clearly puts the customer first. I will definitely be back for a pair in the future.
Thanks again
Elliot

I ordered some boat shoes (my first order with Farley) and the first time discount didn't work. I completed my order and questioned the discount with Customer Service. Within 20 minutes Freya had credited my card.
Excellent and very fast customer service.
Thanks.

Quick delivery and well packaged.
Used the Tundra Haul at a festival and it worked very well, keeping ice for over 5 days. The wheels are a worthy upgrade for moving it about as heavy when fully loaded.
Would highly recommend the product and A Farley.

Good choice of mens' brands at fair prices. Delivery can be a tad slower than I'd expect, and comms all goes a bit quiet in that time, but otherwise great.

Farley Country Attire are amazing. Great quality gear and they kept me updated on the slight delay in my order and offered me alternatives, but the original order a belt came back in stock and I was happy to wait.
Freya was prompt in response to all emails and kept me posted. The belt came as described and perfect.
Well done and I will order again .
