Glenn and Ricky were lovely when they came to fit our bath, change wastes and helped with some odd jobs.

They were friendly and efficient staying late to try and finish one of the jobs deciding to come back two days later to finish off the fitting of our bath.

What was meant to take 1 day took 1.5 days and the price remained the same + cost of materials.

They were very professional in their approach using gloves when working in the house.

Excellent service from Glen and his colleague Ricky. Glen arrived within 1/2 hour of our initial call. He sorted out a leaking hose behind our integral washing machine, then a dripping mains stopcock. The main problem involved moving an oven, removing floorboards, and replacing a rotting pipe running below a wall, before replacing everything and cleaning up. Always cheerful and polite and cheaper than another local service which failed to arrive after several calls. Would not hesitate to call them again.

Having put up with a leaking shower for some considerable time, we finally decided to have it replaced and the bathroom completely retiled. Glen discussed all the possible options and took on board all our needs and wishes and provided an accurate estimate of the cost. Lee worked extremely hard for almost two weeks removing the old tiles and fitting new ones on the floor and on the somewhat oddly shaped walls. We were very satisfied with the standard of work and the friendliness of the staff, including Ricky the electrician and Glen`s son who did a great job with the plastering. We have no hesitation in recommending ALK.

Needed a to fix a pipe that had not been connected properly by previous plumber. The plumber from ALK was with me following a phone call within an hour. He quickly assessed the situation and job done. Told me the price before starting - sorry to say I didn't get his name, but polite and courteous service. I would recommend

Glen answered the phone promptly and although he was just finishing a job in Chelmsford he arrived in an hour. He sorted my blocked toilet out quickly and I will certainly call him again if I suffer any further plumbing problems. Very professional and pleasant.

I discovered my stopcock was dripping heavily and it was the Friday before Bank Holiday. The first company I rang from the yellow pages did not pick up. This was the second company I called. He answered and said he would be round shortly. Barely 10 minutes later he arrived. I was really surprised at how smart he looked!
The tap was replaced and it wasn't an easy job for him as he had to remove part of the shelving and back panel of a cupboard with an electric saw. He apparently carries a vast amount of stock with him so he should be able to fix almost anything. I was very impressed with the service, him as a person and the speed of his arrival(luckily he was in my area). Very happy with job!

Our toilet was blocked and we could not shift the blockage with a plunger. Called a different plumber, and they said they would get back to us with a quote. Not good enough, as my husband has a disability and needs access to a toilet at short notice. We called ALK Plumbing & Drainage, and the guy said he'd be over in half an hour, even quoting how much the task would be.

True to his word, within 30 minutes, he was at our house. The blockage was more difficult to shift than he initially thought, but after 45 minutes, it was done.

He was friendly and efficient, and we would have no problem in calling him again if and when we need plumbing services.

The first company we contacted, got back to us three days later!

In an emergency (at around 11:15 at night) we called the firm and reported an emergency as we had a burst inlet in the mains pipe. The plumber estimated he could get to us in about 35 mins and was as good as his word. He repaired the mains inlet pipe there and then rather than just doing a temporary fix and returning the next day. Friendly and efficient and a very thorough job. In the circumstances the bill was not excessive and we noted he replaced the sheared plastic fitting with a much more substantial solid brass fitment. We would use ALK Plumbing again.

Drilled through a pipe on a Sunday morning, called ALK and had someone round within two hours, fixed 20 minutes after that.

Can't fault them for service and made a stressful situation much easier to deal with
