While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Established in 1940, the British Association of Dental Nurses - the UK's professional association for dental nurses, proudly represents thousands of dental nurses nationwide and supports dental nurses through their professional and personal life journey. Our association mission core is to support dental nurses and we work hard to ensure dental nurses have everything they need, providing many membership benefits to help them excel and advance in their professional careers. Our mission: To empower dental nurses to advocate and advance the role of dental nursing through a platform of lifelong learning in order to enable a level of competently applied knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours related to the progression from novice to expert practice, that underpin the evolving demands of current and future oral healthcare for the UK population.
Room 200 Hillhouse International Business Centre, FY5 4QD, Thornton-Cleveleys, United Kingdom
Every Dental Nurse registered should also have their own personal indemnity as extra cover. Fine, if you have cover from your employer, that supports you only on the practice premises where you actually work.
Consider a senerio outside of this box. Attending an event, socially, holidays, driving, neighbour disputes, plenty of scenrio's that could place you in a serious, vunerable situation that can could put your registration at risk.
Consider financial burden to fund legal costs, your reputation, your empolyers fear, that this could bring disrepute to their organistation which they will consider first. The support you will receive for legal paperwork which is overwhelming for a lay person to understand. Therefore having a impact on your physical and mental health. I can not understand reading GDC professional hearing cases, why, did they not have legal support?
Reason for having two different indemnity insurances. I hope this is helpful.

It’s a great platform for us all to connect on. The only problem I have is inconsistency of joining. Each year when we renew, we either get a paper card with our details on or a real card, with a pen and a badge too.

Quick efficiency renewal process .
Very grateful for the reduction in fee , puts the GDC to shame in my humble opinion

Good service on the whole. Understanding and finding the full range of benefits of membership might be easier to find perhaps. But I got there!! I feel happier and safer being a member of the association and I know I can contact them about anything that concerns me about my work in dentistry.

I am disappointed that you cannot get a quote for indemnity Insurance without joining - what is the part time membership?? No explanation anywhere as to what this is ! Shame as the site used to be So easy to use I found the paying twice carry on ridiculous and it’s gone up even tho I have been a member for the last 4 years without any claims ! Disappointing will shop around next year ...☹️

Excellent work over many years to support our profession. There's many things that would not have progressed without BADN's tenacity.
Great personal support when needed.
