Refund not posted timely
My returned online order has been received but no refund posted. Buyer beware Banana Republic does not refund money when they receive the returned item.
Don’t shop with GAP. They are just a bad company.
I ordered a hat and a bag. Banana Republic hired UPS to deliver TWO items. I only received the hat. This not my first bad experience with BANANA Republic. They have refused to stand behind the carrier. Refused to even offer to replace the lost item. I am what they deem an “Icon” customer as I have purchased a lot of merchandise from them. This is a constant with them. They tell ME to contact the shipper. Why does the customer have to track down product because of their crappy performance? Beware these people, they have no concern for their customers. That’s Banana Republic, also known as GAP. I would give them a zero if I could. Check out the Better Business Bureau ratings as well. Not good, but I had no idea just how much they rip the customer off.
I used to love Banana customer service…
I used to love Banana customer service and the store polices, I just purchased 2 pairs of pants that were on sale, I did not see that they were final sale since I was shopping through the app in my cell phone, the pants are paper thin and do no fit properly and because they were marked final sale, I could not return them, so I am stuck with them and too bad I did not like them. In the past, Banana went above and beyond to please a customer, you live and learn, this was the last time I shopped at Banana.
Quality misstep
We love shopping at BR. Great customer service and love the fashion. However, not loving the bedding we purchased in Dec 2024. Bedding came with linen duvet, good weight for fall and winter. However, the sheets are cheap quality and don’t fit the king mattress like it should. We have to tug to make it work (and you should not have to). It was not worth the cost.

Honestly, surprised by all the negativity. I order a cable knit sweaters ont their winter clearance event and got it within a week. Stunning sweater. It'll definitely be a mainstay in my wardrobe.

Disappointing would be an understatement
Purchased 3 items, 2 are nothing like the picture and 1 is missing, and BR failed the refund process after we went through the fuss of calling and reporting the situation. We had to check over and over for delivery. Absolutely a waste of time. Disappointing would be an understatement. Almost furious at this point.
I’ve had positive experiences
I like it honestly. I’ve been purchasing from them on their app and also the factory website. The shipping is free and fast. I’ve had no major issues with the clothes. I like their silk dresses and skirts (very delicate and must handle with care) Their style is simple and classy. The only issue I’ve had was with the zipper of a pair of linen pants that broke because it got stuck and I forced it too much. That’s partly my fault ( I was in a rush) Just look at the reviews of the item that interests you and try to get them on sale. It depends on personal taste and what you can afford.

A Complete Disappointment with Banana Republic’s Online Shopping
I rarely shop online because I don’t always get the right sizes, but I decided to give it a try during Black Friday. Big mistake. Not only were the sizes much larger than expected, but I also never received half of my “discounted” order. The only solution they offered was to refund my money. Do they only ship what they feel like selling? When I went back to the website to try to purchase the items that never arrived, the prices were already five times higher. I will definitely never trust Banana Republic’s online shopping again. If I ever buy one of their items, it will be in a physical store, because the online experience was the worst I’ve ever had.
Filthy dressing room Ajax location
Their dressing room at the Ajax, Ontario location is filthy. The buildup of dirt is disgusting. I wish I could has posted pictures.
Shipping is just plain sad
Shipping is just plain sad. They charge you $7.99for shipping and then send it the cheapest way USPS offers. Orders never arrive on time and some times days after expected. USPS stated the package arrived when it hadn’t. There is never anything in the stores. I’m done with them
Clothing falls apart
Recently purchase three pairs of pants and every single one was extremely poor quality. Any little of bit of stretch had them pulling apart at the seems. I originally got the pants a size too large and downsized for a proper fit. The ones that fit me perfectly just completely fell apart at the crotch just trying them on. For the price point Banana Republic puts their clothing it’s incredibly disappointing to see such low quality clothing.
I used to really like BR, but now…
I used to really like BR as their sizing, tailoring and fabric were quite good. However now their sizing is large and sloppy, with same sizing for most pieces way off from what they used to be (on the larger size). Fabrics don’t feel like the same quality either.
They used to be my go-to for office work clothes but can’t find anything that reasonably fists (and my size has not really changed). I’m an average size male (42R suit, 35 pant) and all of their clothes for my size make me feel like I’m swimming in them. Even their “slim fit” dress shirts now fit like their standard fit.

I am trying to return items I ordered from Banana Republic. I got the QR code, I brought it to staples and after 4 days, I expected to be able to some how track the package or receive an email with status updates. Nope! I chatted with an agent who contunually stated the refund takes about 15 days ...when my question was how do I track the return...I was then told, I can't track it because it's a QR code. So I asked if he can confirm the status or receipt of the items. I was told yes but the refund takes 15 days...so I asked to reconfirm receipt of the items and was told no they did not receive them. So again. How do I track the Satus of the return. It is a lot of money to lose...never buying from them again

Please don't order from this company. I wish I had read these reviews first. I ordered over $300 in clothes, five minutes later I checked my address and an old address was still on the account. I IMMEDIATELY called... still 5 minutes, to get it changed. They said I should cancel and get refunded and ordered again. That's what they did... canceled it.. so they said.
Two days later I got an email that it had shipped. I called them and they said there was no guarantee that it was going to be cancelled... HUH? They said I should call UPS to change the address. UPS said I COULD'NT change the address because the vendor prohibited it. It still hasn't shipped and Banana Republic refuses to either change the address or cancel it. They said I'll need to file a claim once I don't receive it. WHO DOES THAT?
I decided to renew my BR credit card… BIG MISTAKE
I decided to renew my BR credit card since I had not used it for some time and it had expired.
Their customer service is probably one of the most disorganized, misinformed & rude people I have ever dealt with. It all started when I got my new card. I called to make sure I could use it in Canada. I was reassured a note was made that it could be used out of the US. Needless to say after spending over $500 my card was declined and NOBODY could understand why etc. So I used another card! The only reason I did that was because my daughter is a teacher and being very petite it is hard to purchase clothes. I come back and once again tried to use my card for more purchases and just like Canada is said declined. On and on with phone calls... finally one BR representative was able to give me some type of TEMPORARY # to place the new order. Let's just say that after that "success" NOBODY not even a supervisor could fix my problem. Not to mention I was on hold for 15 minutes waiting for her to resolve the issue. Which seemed promising @ the beginning of the call. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. Or maybe do not get their credit card. Not worth the aggravation or spending hours trying to resolve an issue caused by them!!1
