Rip off merchants.

They said 30 minutes, they took over an hour. Got me access to the house after the lock had jammed. It needed a new lock. He was polite and pleasant but charged £648. Later I realised he took the bill with him. Two phone calls to the office. Was promised they would call me back but didn't. Third call put me on hold then cut me off and refused to pick up. And the email address gets rejected. You live and learn!

Avoid bestlocksmith24h.co.uk

They attended our property in a timely fashion. Then proceeded to charge us £1,100 (including VAT) to gain entry and replace the Yale lock. Outrageous profiteering, bordering on a scam.

Avoid! Prey on vulnerable

I feel ashamed that I didn’t do more research but I have had the same experience as most of the other people here. We were locked in our flat so panicked as needed someone quickly. Was told £49 on phone and that work would be around £100 ended up being charged almost £600 for 20mins of work and £250 for a mechanism which cost about £15. Awful company scammers I am gonna contact trading standards, action fraud and police. Shame on Google for still advertising it so high on the page. I am sure lots of people will use them as you panic when you are locked out.

AVOID!

Like everyone else, would give them zero if I could. I locked myself out and they arrived promptly, but then tried to charge me £333 to literally run a piece of paper along the side of the door to unsnib the lock. Basically criminals.

I would give them a 0 but I can't pick 0. This company is a scam, they will charge £68 call out and then over the top to get into your property. they will leave your front door in a mess. Stay Away from this company they need to be reported to trading standards.

Rubbish

Don't ever choose this locksmith company. It was super expensive to change a lock, it cost me £1800 and later I heard from my friend there that I was scammed. Maybe it's because I'm not British and don't know much about this. Rubbish

Scammers

Exactly like everyone else, I was scammed by these people. They charged £229 for an ordinary cylinder lock (my mistake to have no idea about their real prices, which is £15-20). They do not have customer service because they do not care. You are scammed, and now you are history.

Avoid with all cost!

I had a horrible experience with this company. I locked myself out of my house and I called them for an emergency intervention. The price quoted to me was the 35£ fee with the remaining to be assessed on site. It took 5 seconds to open the door with a plastic as the door was not locked and the price that I was charge was £394! For 5 seconds?! This company takes advantage of peoples trouble to make money! Disgraceful!!

This is just a robbery..

This is just a robbery... they said that the service would arrive in 20 minutes and came actually 3 hours later. Their trick is that they charge you 50 GBP for callout fee than for the drilling the man said one point ninety eight. I did not get the number and asked again you mean 2? He confirmed. I thought it was a reasonable amount for drill bit. After the work is done he said the total is 248 and 186 GBP for the lock mechanism. I paid him for the service and did not want to fight. The man called George was very rude and arrogant and while leaving he offered an extra 100 GBP for the lock and asked for VAT with an informal paper ( a photocopy which I only have one copy) I went to a hardware store and replaced the inner lock to a high security one just for 15 GBP. Never call them!!!!

Overcharging

Overcharging. Paid for new lock and keys £411. Was rushing to brake the lock, because when it's broke there's no way back. Avoid at all cost.

02038851323 is a ripoff locksmith number

Hello, I believe the link to this website should be removed from truspilot. The real company behind is called 'Hammersmith Services Ltd' and they are associates of Mm&m96Ltd. They are cons and overcharge for the services. They don't quote and ask for the property details instead. I am in contact with the police as the 'locksmith' has been asking rather unusual questions regarding my flat. Do not use them at all costs and please feel free to repost this review.

BEWARE OF THIS MISLEADING COMPANY.

BEWARE OF THIS MISLEADING COMPANY.
I found their website on google search and I was attracted to them because of their pricing information which clearly stated "24/7 service for ONLY £49"
Believing I was only going to pay £49 .I reached out to them. the work done was only to open the jammed door which was done under 30 mins. the door was not fixed and I was charged £200!

I called on phone the next day to complain. the phone got cut on me. I later called and was told to send an email. I sent an email and for a failure delivery. The email address on their website is unreachable.
Potential customers pls be careful of
-Misleading Price Information and concealing their true price
-Overcharging
- Bad customer service without resolution

This is a dangerous website linked to…

This is a dangerous website linked to many rogue trade-smiths, that needs to be reviewed. I imagine if you are reading this you are probably a victim of it too.

My understanding of it is, its a call centre covering a large area that appears local by using sponsor adverts to appear first on a google search. In order to conceal their identity the rogue trader’s uses a limited company, it makes them appear there is more than one person involved and more confusing to the customer they are ripping off. It also makes it more difficult for them to be investigated by trading standards and the police because every time someone reports them its under a different company name.

However the trader who came and wrecked my front door, I quickly realised he was also the director because the business address was a residential home and he was the same nationality and age of the trader. Plus the company only has 1 employee and only made a turnover of £7000.

Anyway, one night my key wasn’t working, I called the locksmith believing him to be local and on a call out fee of £49. When he arrived, the fee quickly jumped up to £500. I said no, I would stay with relatives instead, he became aggressive demanding money. Once he left I contacted the police.

The following morning, it was evident it was a botch job, the door had marks, the handle had moved and there were holes in the side of the door where it wasn’t finished. I looked up the lock that he said was £60 but charged £79 it was actually only £7.

I contacted the company via email and they said out of good will they would refund me £50. I told them I wanted a refund or would pursue small claims. They then said they could get someone to come back and fix the lock, I asked for accreditations they said the trader was a member of the AAL Scotland. I checked this, not only were they not, confirmed it was a phone centre scam.

When I reaffirmed I was pursuing small claims, the trader (pretending to being someone else) tried to intimidate me saying the trader had a body cam and everything was recorded and would bring it to court. I responded by asking why are you threatening me with this?

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE UNTRAINED, DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY, THREATENING AND WILL CHARGE YOU A FORTUNE!!

AVOID FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY

AVOID FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY! I called out one of their locksmiths, who tried to overcharge me for unnecessary work. In the process of the job he damaged my property and refused to admit it. He quickly became agressive, started shouting, and pushed me out of his way while in my own home. He refused to leave when I told him to get out. I used the door to push against him and he luckily gave up and went outside. He then went literally insane and started drilling big holes across my front door and the new lock. A neighbour came to my aid and shouted at him to leave the property. He left unpaid and with all the new keys. A local locksmith came to save the day at a reasonable price. Police are involved due to the assault and criminal damage. Please avoid this company, especially if you're a lone female as I am. Not only do they overcharge but they physically assault you and damage your property if you stand up to them.

Do not use

Do not use. They quoted a low price on the phone and then tried to charge over 200 for a single internal lock. The person they sent was aggressive and intimidating. The door has been left a complete mess.

1 star is being too generous …£682 to open my door! Do not EVER use this company

This is a company who exploit people when they are at the most vulnerable and desperate. Under no circumstances use this company. Like many people who have left reviews on this site; I called the first company that appeared on the Google listing. Sadly I too wished I had seen these reviews beforehand.
I was very desperate as I had a big presentation planned at my company in 45 minutes time and I needed access to my laptop ASAP. The lady on the phone advised me it was £49 callout and that the attendant/ Locksmith would be there in 25 minutes.
One hour and 20 minutes later - the Locksmith turned up by which time I was already engaged in my work call from my work phone. I had absolutely no opportunity to negotiate with the locksmith as I was mid call and couldn’t be interrupted. I had a piece of paper waved in my face which I was required to sign – at which point the Locksmith got out his drill– drilled a hole in the lock (making no attempt whatsoever to even try picking the lock - no doubt to further justify the criminal prices). The drilling process took no longer than 20 seconds by which time I had already apparently been charged £370. The total bill including an incredibly cheap lock and 3 keys came to £685 and took no longer than 25 mins.
I intend to write to the company to see if they are willing to offer a part refund. However if not I will absolutely be escalating the matter so they don’t exploit any other unsuspecting - clearly desperate people.
Note – they are quite hard to find on the Internet - no doubt deliberately so. However they also seem to trade under the name Chelsea consultancy ER 24 Ltd. There are seem to be several numbers for them.
Unsurprisingly – no one was available to listen to my complaint – and I was asked to email them. Having seen all of these reviews I now understand why. It really is shocking that they are still in business.
I am also disappointed that Google have not done a more thorough job of validating people advertised in their search engine – especially those at the top.
