Complete rip-off.
11pm during the week, 15min job: £540
I get there's a premium to pay for emergency but not this much. They also tried to charge me £250 to change the lock whilst another locksmith charged me £130 and said the opening would have been £190 with him.
Thieving opportunist bast*rds,
This company will overchargedyou grossly. I was charged £909 to replace a UPVC locking mechanism, it only took 30 minutes to replace. I was charged £275 for labour £315 for the part, £70 temporary lock , £98, and then VAT, £151.60 even though company is not VAT registered. I was completely ripped me off. Bestlocksmith24h.co.uk is there website, when I rang to complain the reception lady cut me off
Thieving opportunist bast*rds, they need to be reported, I am going to do what I can to make sure this happens
Absolute Scam!
Absolute Scam!
Don’t for one second trust this ‘company’ if that’s what they even call themselves. You will get quoted a reasonable price for someone to come and be charged £100’s above that agreed price.
The company is full of con artists who don’t even know what there dealing with and just are there to scam you for your money!
Avoid at all costs and save yourself your time and money.
We called for replacing a lock and although their website said it would cost £39, we got charged nearly £600 for a 10 minute job. The man just contuined to charge us for things along the way which any normal company would not do.
Terrible woman managing calls
Rudest reception woman ever on the phone who would hang up and promise times they would fail to deliver on. Awful customer service, avoid this company at all costs.
I cannot reiterate enough the sentiment of bad reviews…
I cannot reiterate enough the sentiment of the reviews to AVOID AT ALL COST.
Utter scam, undisclosed fees, call out charge (a call out to charge above £49 to what I already know that I can’t unlock the door!) hidden costs, undeclared costs for labour.......it goes on!
Don’t waste your money and call a local locksmith.
SCAM!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Should have checked this company out as I would have seen the shocking reviews here!!!
Can only echo what a scam they are. Quoted £49 for labour & £38 onwards for lock replacement.
When the locksmith arrived, he fiddled the lock for 10s & ascertained the lock was broken (why else would I call him out??!?)... for that - the ‘diagnosis’ would cost £49. But to fix the lock would be £55 upwards, though if drilling is needed, that’s £150+ on top & then the lock was £60+.... that’s basically over £300?!?!?!
There should be a law against such tradesmen. They give a low quote so you allow them into your home, but once you do, they start to hammer you; to be stuck in a situation with a stranger carrying a bag of tools that can easily be weaponised makes you feel incredibly vulnerable.
Very upsetting to be pushed into a corner like that. More people should be warned especially since the website pops up on top in searches.
Scam-Avoid like the plague
Scam - DO NOT USE
Also trades as Locksmith 24/7. The parent company is NB 2020 Ltd.
I needed an emergency locksmith because door had jammed shut. The guy came in 20 mins. Said he needed to force open the door. DIdn't tell me how much it would cost. He managed to open the door then said the gear mechanism needed replacing and that it would be £300! He said 'I was lucky' because he just happened to have in his car. He then presented me with 'an Invoice' for £813!!
made of
1, Emergency Call-out £89 (they advertise for £49!!!)
2, Opening a jammed UPvc door (by drilling barrel lock if needs be) £150
3,Supply+ fit of Maco 35 mm backset gear central locking housing single spindle old 5ST & 5STK 53431 or 56231 type lock match £316
4, Labour -£120
Plus VAT
GRAND TOTAL £813.60!!!!!!
Actually the Maco 35 mm gear mechanism is only 40 euros -£33 on Amazon. So £319 is a 1000% mark up on cost price.
Avoid like the plague. These guys are NOT Members of any federations or guilds. You will not be able to complain to anybody once they have fleeced you!!!!
Stay away
Stay away! Rip off. They charged us over £166 to change the handle. Our call was not even urgent and I made it very clear when I called the number. They gave us an old handle with scratches on it and also it is too small. I emailed to complain along with photos requesting to have the issue resolved ASAP as we paid for a NEW handle, not some recycled handle they had. I had to call to chase any type of response. When finally I got a response they said “ Can you please let us know what the problem is and provide us with the invoice you have recieved and the problems you are facing.” Clearly did not even check the email as invoice was attached. I am still going back and forward with them and at this point I will be contacting my bank to request a charge back as they scammed us by failing to provide the service we paid for and I am tired of constantly chasing them. AVOID
They will send a conman to your house…
They will send a conman to your house who will try to rip you off. They will then disavow any connection or responsibility for who they send. Cons, stay away.
Shocking experience
Shocking experience. The locksmith arrived swiftly and assessed the lock. I asked him what the total cost will be and he pulled out his calculator, added the the costs together with the vat and said £240. When he was finished the job he gave me an invoice for £427. When I queried it he said he explained the costs to me, which he did not! I would never have continued at that rate if he did. It was in the minuses outside and I had a 6 month old baby that I needed to get in and wasn’t really able to argue the case then and there
Rip off and misleading price info on…
Rip off and misleading price info on their website. Stay away and look for more honest company. Not recommended.
A scam! Please stay away!
Please stay away from this horrific, scammy and amoral company.
I was stuck and locked out of my house. I tried to get in myself but the lock would not budge. I found this company as one of the entries in google.
I called and after waiting 45 minutes, a locksmith turned up. He turned up in an unmarked vehicle which made me a little uneasy. After explaining the call out fee was £59 and it would cost £189 to open the door, I agreed to it as I felt I had no other option. After drilling a hole in the door and removing the origional lock, he then asked if I wanted the lock replaced. I said 'obviously, there is a giant hole in the door!' He ultimately charged me £651. Feeling this was a bit steep, but nonetheless concerned for my safety, I agreed.
It wasn't until after he left and I spoke to some friends that I found out I had been massively overcharged.
I was utterly furious at having been taken advantage of in a time of need. Shame on this company for taking advantage of vulnerable people who are in a tricky situation.
Please, please look at the bad reviews before going with this company. I am not surprised to see that countless others have similar experiences and you must protect yourself from scams like this.
I am so upset at the outcome, but all I can hope to do is stop others being duped in the same way I was.
Zero stars would be too high!
Don't bother with this company. My children and I were locked out of of the house this morning and the operator said someone would be with me in 20 mins. 45 mins later a locksmith calls to say hes on his way but will be another 35 mins. 50 mins later he rings again to say hes not coming because of the snow in London and that nobody else wants the job. Really? You made me wait 2 hours to tell me you couldnt be bothered. Thanks a lot. Customer service at its very worst. Stay away from this useless company. Although after reading all the negative reviews regarding their pricing Im glad they didnt turn up! My local locksmith did the job and was more than reasonably priced.
Just call your local locksmith and don't bother
When i called i was told the price for opening the door was 55 so i said fine. I was told 30 minutes so i started waiting. 15 minutes later i am getting a call being told i have to pay another 49 for a call out and all of it plus vat. I said NO of course.
When i called a decent locksmith all i paid was half the price which is 59. This website is simply a rip off
Don't even consider
I called Bestlocksmith24 after losing my keys. I was told a technician would arrive within 20 minutes. Website says "At your door in 15 minutes" but was OK with them saying 20. I asked about cost and was told £55 to open a door.
After 30 minutes with no contact, called again. Was told he was on his way but would call me. Received a call and technician told me he was 10 minutes away, also that he only received the call 15 minutes earlier (i.e. 15 minutes after I had called). Arrived 15 minutes later, 45 minutes after my initial call and 25 minutes later than I was told. He was driving a small unmarked private car, not a trade van, so there was no indication of the company he was from. Doubt he could have carried much in the way of tools or equipment as his car was very small. Took a photo of the car registration as a precaution, which he didn't like.
After a very quick look at the door, told me it would be £200. Then changed to £120+VAT when challenged. That would have meant £55 call out/door opening and £65 for a replacement cylinder worth about £15 - £20 Told him to leave. Called the office again and explained. They advised they would look into it and call back (but never did). He got aggressive - said I still had to pay call out charge and they had all my details. Refused and told him to leave again, pointing out that he had not arrived in the agreed timeframe and that I'd been told the cost for opening the door would be £55. Got back in his car and drove off, spinning wheels on the drive and speeding away.
Called a local master locksmith. Asked for details about the type of door and lock, whether keys were inside etc, which the others didn't. He quoted £77 call out and £25 if new cylinder needed. Said he'd come straight round and arrived within 15 minutes.
Checked the door and then looked around the house before starting to work on the door to see if there was a better way in. Did the work and charged exactly what he told me over the phone. Should have gone to a proper locksmith in the first place!
Addition - I have to conclude that one of the other reviewers is correct about the reviews on their website being fake. I watched it for some time. It suggests there are 1087 reviews. The website scrolls through the reviews and the same 10 keep cycling through, not the 1087 suggested. All are good of course. No means of looking for bad reviews.
STAY AWAY!!
Wish I had carefully read all the reviews before trusting the average rating. Judging from complaints on various platforms, all the positive reviews are fake!!
They take advantage of unsuspecting customers, charging ludicrous amounts for a simple job, and using aggression to make sure the payment is done.

TOTAL RIP OFF WITH AGGRESSIVE STAFF
TOTAL RIP OFF WITH AGGRESSIVE STAFF
This is a scam website that takes advantage of people in a moment of need. They subcontract to or operate under other companies that they rename / burry when complaints get out of control. For example the invoice given to me was under Blaga Vest Ltd, though we were not informed about this subcontractor in advance:
Locksmith 24 Hours
Blaga Vest Ltd
3 Gerry Raffles Square
London E15 1BG
The handyman that arrived didn’t give his name, but sounded Easter European.
The key was stuck on the lock, and before even trying to get it out, wanted to charge £400+ for changing the lock (before VAT, which is only mentioned afterwards).
We refused to accept this, and simply proceeded with shearing the key off the lock. For this, they charged £89 for the emergency visit and £99 shearing, which only took 2 seconds. The total came to £220+ with VAT. When querying the handyman about the price he got VERY aggressive, so had no choice but to pay.

Dimitri was friendly and arrived…
Dimitri was friendly and arrived promptly. He was able to access what was needed and I was able to access my property within a few seconds. Cost was a little high but would recommend for how efficiently he worked.
Disgusting
Disgusting. Felt utterly ripped off. Call out charge of £49 turned out to be £213.60 for less than 10 seconds to drill a lock.
Claimed we had a very secure lock so they could charge us more once on site. I know it was not as he said, because I had bought the lock myself and it was very standard.
If I hadn’t needed to get my child in out of the cold I would have sent him on his way
Honestly took them less than 10 seconds to drill. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Please avoid these crooks
