Physically assaulted by the locksmith…

Physically assaulted by the locksmith when I questioned his rediculous bill. So I called the police.

What started out at £49, soon escalated to £600.

I noticed a VAT error in the locksmiths calculations and then realised he had only changed the barrel with a cheap substandard one available online for £5 - £15, re-using many parts of my existing door lock mechanism.

I called out another locksmith after the police watched the cowboy remove the rubbish he had installed. I spoke to the cowboys boss on the phone who was as arrogant as his employee claiming that his employee didn't assault me and I was just trying to get out of paying. Clearly any company that values its reputation would not take such a stand.

The new locksmith fitted a new lock including parts, labour, callout and VAT for £150.

Following the police advice I am reporting them to trading standards. I would not recommend them to anyone.

As you can see in the companies reply, their stance is still to deny the wrong doings of their employee, but claim that I am making it all up.

The police have recorded the incident but had no evidence that the assault took place as it was my word against the employees.

As I am sure anyone who is reading this will know the assault is a criminal matter and hence the police were called.

The misrepresentation of the employee in the form of the invoice, the quality of the parts supplied and the fact that I was billed for parts I already owned is a civil matter, one which the police have no interest in. So why would I call the police if I wasn't assualted, it wouldn't help me get out of paying?

The matter was recorded by the police, which means that if the employee assualts someone again in a similar situation the police will have record of this and probably take further action.

Dear Sir, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations, these fabrications you have wrote down is utter nonsense.

The police were at the property, if indeed you were assaulted the police would've cautioned or reprimanded the technician.

But instead you made a whole scene for you not to pay the technician the agreed amount that you signed off on the invoice.

Next time i suggest you pay what was agreed upon instead tricking the technician into doing the job and also wasting police time.

Updated:- It is your word against the locksmith. But you saw that the locksmiths english was not good so you decided to take advantage of the scenario.

The locksmith drilled your rim lock and replaced it, He used your night-latch because there was nothing wrong with it. The locksmith only charged you for the rim lock. The police called me after and said you have no base in your argument.

So please in the future do not trick a technician or take advantage of people as what goes around comes around.

I really do hope you find peace. If you would like to take this further we will be happy to help

Thank You

Would not recommend

One of the worst services provided. I had only one broken lock and they managed to break the whole door. I was advised after they broke the door that I need to buy a new door and left without any advice. I had called another company afterwards and they were able to complete the job and replace the universal lock system. I had paid £49 for the on-site inspection and got left with nothing else but a broken door. Also got quoted £90 for the simple lock when it’s £11 from b&q. I had called back the company multiple times to help me with a solution but that just led the adviser to hang up the phone on me and block the number.

Dimitry was absolutely lovely. Turned up quickly and it was even late at night. Was so quick and even helped us move our furniture after a horrid evening. I would highly recommend him and the company.

Too expensive

£49. Call out fee. Then tried saying that the whole locking system needs to be taken apart and that the gears may need fixing which will be £250. plus. Took the door handle off and fiddled around which fixed the problem. £120. plus call out fee plus vat for 15 mins work. Too expensive. No mask. Tools all over kitchen work surface.
