Fantastic service

Simple, efficient and hassle free

Great little company
I rented a 5 door hatch back for 1 night as I needed to pop into London, the service was pleasant, the car was in great nick, and all in all an enjoyable experience.

Always a pleasure, reliable and affordable.
We've been using Cambridge Car and Van Rental for about 6 or 7 years now and we've never had a single negative experience with them. The prices are good, the vehicles are quality, and the people working there are all very friendly and a pleasure to talk to.
I'd definitely recommend them to anyone and will be hiring with them again soon.
Oh... that reminds me. They have a loyalty-card type system too where after 4 hires you get a day free. We tend to use most of our hires for 'events' (seeing family at Christmas, birthdays, etc) and every time we get a free day we use it for a little treat like a trip to the spa... :)
But yes, definitely recommended on all fronts.

A good service, but inadequate parking.
This is a good value, local car/van hire firm that efficiently deals with the process without too much waiting as with so many other companies. It does however let itself down in the one area it used to excel. Parking. Whereas I could previously leave my car in Tesco car park (where they store their cars/vans) for the duration of my hire, I now have to hunt for a parking spot. Not easy in this area of Newmarket Road!
I hope they manage to come to an arrangement with Tesco as this puts me off using them and I'm sure it costs them business. It makes the outfit look amateurish - their business is car hire but with nowhere to store them!

To clear up the parking because it sounds like you may have been misinformed with what has changed and also about the company.
Unfortunately the new manager of Tesco has frozen a long term agreement with all local business who used the car park. Luckily this is not where we store our vehicles - we do have our own compound. We only use this car park for customer pick up and returns. The only effect it will have on our customers is if they wish to park there rental vehicle out of hours for a return when we re-open. Like your own vehicle which would have always been liable to the 3 hour restriction, we would be more than happy to advise where to park for free when you collect your rental which is close by to our office.
Hopefully with this explanation it won't put you off hiring from us again - we will be happy to help.

It was easy and quick to rent a van. It was quick and easy to return the van.
I picked up a van on Friday evening and returned it on Monday morning (for a move from Cambridge to London). It was very easy and quick to go through the steps required both when picking up the van and returning it.
I would highly recommend Cambridge Car and Van Rental.

Friendly, personal, reliable
I've used Cambridge Car and Van Rental on a monthly basis since I moved to Cambridge five years ago and decided I didn't need a car of my own. In all that time I haven't had a single problem; everyone is friendly so it's a genuine pleasure to do business there, the cars are always in excellent condition, and the prices are competitive. Always friendly, competitive prices, and a good fleet
A good selection of vehicles, although not a huge fleet, and they don't charge much extra for automatics unlike most other rental companies. Easy to interact with and friendly service.
