I bought a pair of Bronx loafers in…
I bought a pair of Bronx loafers in august 2025 – the delivery of the order got delayed so I received the shoes in Copenhagen in October a few months delayed. I was to be honest a little disappointed with the actual product and I sent an email to Caulaincourt about this in November 2025. I have now re-sent the same email 3 times – Still at this date I have not received any response from the company!!

No QC, bad experience
I ordered one pair of "patina express" shoes, they sent another model. 100 euros cheaper, not what I purchased. These shoes had already a good bunch of scuffs and marks too.
Support was absent,I have been lucky to eventually be in touch with what seems to be the webmaster/communication guy who helped.
Eventually I received what I ordered after easily another week.
Alas, what looked like a dramatic flaw to me: one shoe with 2 tan leather slabs on one heel. The other shoe had 3 slabs of leather in a much darker color. At 500+ euros, it's not acceptable.
I shipped them back and was told it's not a flaw but a feature proving their high quality standard. Well, not for me, even as a B stock I would never buy shoes of different colors and height.
The size advisor was not accurate for me, it indicated 1/2 too small.
Patina Express models are not done in Paris, but in the 3rd party factory somewhere in Europe. Clearly not indicated on the website.
All in all, very poor experience, lots of stress, and non existing QC.

First of all, we were quite surprised by your comment regarding the absence of customer support. Our records show that you contacted us twice on the same day, only a few hours apart, and that we replied to your request within 24 hours. We also recall that our exchanges were cordial and constructive throughout, which makes this remark all the more unexpected.
That being said, it is true that two unfortunate incidents occurred with your order. This situation is highly unusual given our usual standards and the experience reported by the vast majority of our clients. We fully acknowledge these inconveniences and regret the frustration they may have caused.
Regarding the heels, we took the time to explain the nature of the color variation you observed. While we readily acknowledged that the difference in the number of leather layers between the two heels could be considered a defect, it is important to emphasize that both heels were strictly identical in height. Nevertheless, we fully understand that this aesthetic aspect did not meet your expectations.
As you clearly stated your wish to receive a refund, we were unfortunately unable to propose an alternative solution such as an exchange or remake. However, in light of the inconvenience caused, we did offer a goodwill gesture in the form of a promotional code (in addition to your refund), as a sign of our consideration.
We sincerely regret that this experience led to dissatisfaction and stress, and we thank you for having shared your perspective. Your feedback remains valuable to us as we continuously strive to uphold the level of quality and service expected from our Maison.

Dress sneakers look great but a couple issues
I bought a pair of dress sneakers and was assured the leather was soft and flexible like my last pair- but it was, as feared, not really the case. Second- the pair is black sole and upper and I found out the hard way that the polish rubbed off of anything the shoes touched - my hands and unfortunately a light carpet and a dining room chair. Somewhat disappointed.

It can indeed happen that a slight color transfer occurs during the first wears, much like with any dyed garment. As for the sole, this effect may be more noticeable due to the nature of the material: since it is not a natural material, the adhesion of the dye is less durable, as mentioned in our Terms and Conditions of Sale (see paragraph below).
"Caulaincourt informs its clients that a shoe (or any other patinated leather product) may, if placed in inappropriate contact with a light-colored surface (such as carpet, sofa, or other shoes), cause color transfer, stains, or other inconveniences, for which Caulaincourt cannot be held responsible."
This treatment, however, remains an optional service, offered to clients who prefer to avoid the original white sole color for aesthetic reasons.
