Recently bought a Frog 40 from C J Performance Cycles, Byker, and had a first class customer experience. Staff (Ben, Stephen and Sophia) were brilliant.

Due to my error the bike had to be returned for a larger size which was not in stock. However, staff quickly located a Frog 44 in my preferred colour. Throughout the process I was kept informed by pleasant, professional staff.

I was most impressed with Sophia who took ownership of my order and telephoned me on three occasions. Refreshing when people say their going to call you back at a specific time and that promise is fulfilled.

I never write reviews, however in this case I felt compelled, because staff at C J Performance Cycles went that extra mile and exceeded my expectations.

Certainly recommend this small independent cycle shop.

I wanted a new bike, we went to CJ performance in Cramlington and Chris gave me some great advise and helped me decide what bike was best for me. Picked it up on sat it’s perfect exactly what I wanted, love it. Thanks for the great service and advise. Would highly recommend and would definitely purchase again from this store.

I am so glad that I went with CJPerformance Cycles when I noticed that they had the bike I wanted in the correct size.

There was a very slight issue with the bike when it came from the supplier. Stephen informed me about it very quickly and handled everything perfectly - I was so impressed by the communication and transparency.

I've had the bike for over half a year now and I love it. I'm going on another cycle this weekend.

I wanted to buy a Cube electric bike and I searched everywhere online to find the right one in stock. I came across CJ Performance Cycles and I’m so glad I did. As you can imagine I was very nervous spending £2K+ on a bike from a shop I didn’t know. But I have to say the service I received from CJ was first class. I want to thank Mr Stephen Scrafton who I had the pleasure of dealing with for my order. The communication via email was excellent and the delivery to Northern Ireland was very fast. Overall I am extremely happy with whole customer experience from start to finish and cannot recommend CJ Performance highly enough.

I ordered some Cube handlebars which the website said were in stock, but ten days later when I enquired about the delivery, I was told they were waiting for them from their supplier. The manager, Stephen Scrafton, gave me a lame excuse that the website shows they are in stock at the supplier rather than their own stock. He also tried to blame their web provider for the misleading information on the website.

I don't often write reviews but I thought it was worth writing up my experience with my summer road bike. I took it in after a gear cable snapped as the internal routing is a bit fiddly and I was short on time. While replacing it, the mechanics went above and beyond finding a dangerous hole in the handlebar from corrosion, and a small crack in the chainstay. They were patient in showing the affected areas and verifying the problems. They recommended a frame repairer (I checked them out and was recommended the same firm by at least 10 others), they packed and shipped the bike and then rebuilt it once the repairs had been done. Initially I'd wanted the bike back quickly because of an upcoming event, but the gravity of the problems they detected made that impossible, although they'd tried had to get things done in time until they spotted the frame problem. They clearly care about rider safety. They never tried to push me towards expensive solutions, but in each case got in touch to discuss the options and left the decisions up to me. Despite the amount of time they'd spent on the bike they only charged the cost of a service, not trying to add in extras, and were happy to use parts I supplied (replacing chain). Overall I was really impressed by the attention to detail, the good communication, the way they tried to keep costs down for me, offered me good advice on my options, tried their absolute best to get things done for an upcoming event although it was a last minute 'fitting it in' job. I bought a road bike from the Newcastle branch. The staff were excellent and patiently answered all questions while I decided which bike to buy. A few months later I had a bike fit to fine tune the setup. This really helped. Three years on I take my bike back for all servicing.

Being a single mum who knows nothing about cycling with an avid cyclist for a child, I always find that the staff are more than happy to help me with any problems I have and they don’t laugh when I ask them stupid questions 🙂

Excellent service and great staff, I went in looking for a new road bike and although they could have sold me the more expensive one I had my eye on the frame size was just too big for me. They sized me up for a small frame and saved me a few quid in the process 👍

Brilliant service. I bought my first adult bike there in 2015 and Chris took time to help me pick it. I fell I. Love with cycling and have been back for several other bikes since. Best local bike shop I know. I would go nowhere else.

Took my bike to get gears adjusted as everyone else couldn’t get them right.

Tom repaired my shifter, saving me a very expensive replacement, when would have been easy to just replace the pair! Called on Saturday when it was damaged, dropped the bike off Tuesday morning and picked it up all done a few hours later! Top class job and top class service, can’t fault the team at CJ performance!
