Conversion Rolltop Backpack
The ordering and delivery process was great, they even saved me on import tax.
It’s not a 5 star because the previous 2 crumpler backpacks have had a laptop space that holds the whole laptop. This bag says it holds the 12.9” tablet and 14” laptop, but in practice both these devices stick up out of the sleeve provided.
They still fit, but it’s a stretched fit with the top poking out rather than a snug fit and hidden.

Crumpled!
The item that arrived was faulty. A combination of poor design, cheap materials and shoddy fabrication. Crumpler is no longer the brand it used to be and their kit just cannot be trusted to perform any more.
Anyway, I contacted Crumpler UK (in Germany!) and they responded positively:
"We'll do everything we can to provide you with a satisfactory solution"
"Thank you for your cooperation and understanding"
"If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out"
I didn't hesitate and sent all the requested info and photos immediately.
Long story short; all communication ceased, all my emails and phonecalls went unanswered for weeks and I found myself 'reaching out' into the void.
Eventually, after weeks of 'cooperation and understanding' (shouting into an echo chamber), the situation improved. Turns out someone was on vacation and the company operational processes fell apart. Ooops!
I was able to combine the original item with both the replacement item and the spare part I was finally sent to create a single, functional piece. Not ideal and lots of waste product but hey, 1 + 1 + 1/2 = 1. The maths of consumption and catastrophe!
After being an avid convert for a couple of decades, I can no longer recommend Crumpler as a brand. The fact that the sole UK reseller / distibutor is based in the EU and not the UK speaks volumes.

Excellent products as usual
Excellent products as usual. I have 5 or 6 messenger, backpacks and day bags and all are excellent quality, perfectly fit for purpose and have lasted me years with heavy use. Deliveries are fast and reliable and I would recommend Crumpler to anyone and everyone in the market for a bag or any description!

Slow delivery.
Delivery assured in 2 - 4 days but it arrived after 8 days. VERY slow response, if any, to emails raising concerns about slow delivery.
No email confirmation that the goods had been dispatched, on their way, or having been delivered.
I was not able to track the delivery.
The goods arrived after I left the country.

The laptop sleave sticks of cheap neoprene. Not the quility i expect from a Crumpler laptop bag.
@Crumpler.. Can you send me contact details. I know cheap neoprene, had lots of wet suites in my time.

The neoprene cover is made of high quality 4mm and 3mm neoprene with a high quality nylon jersey outside and a polyester jersey inside. This material has been carefully selected to protect your laptop from bumps, scratches and light moisture. It is also treated to be water repellent for added protection.
We are confused by your statement of "cheap neoprene" as our material meets the highest quality standards and has been specially selected to provide the best possible protection for your laptop.
There may be some misunderstanding about the material thicknesses. These have been deliberately chosen to be slightly thinner in order to allow the sleeve to fit easily into the separate laptop compartment and not unnecessarily increase the weight of the bag. This serves to offer you a practical and comfortable solution for laptop transport.
