Beware of this garage - avoid at any cost

Beware of this garage. My car broke down last week and a recovery vehicle came to pick it up. My usual garage could not take as they were busy so suggested EAC Telford. Car was taken there. Quote was for £1,169 to remove and install clutch, slave cylinder and gear oil!!!!!!!
My husband and friend went and collected the car and towed it to another garage where the quote was 50% cheaper - yes 50% cheaper. They still had the cheek to charge £78 for a diagnostic check. Rip off garage.

Took my wife’s Fiat 500 to EAC for a “second opinion”. This was following a service at a dealer where a number of issues were identified as requiring attention. EAC checked all of the alleged faults and there was only 2 that needed rectification. They completed the work on these for us and saved us £’s. No hesitation in recommending this company, Jonno on service desk is always very helpful . Thank you.

Great service

Great service, fast turnaround, and they were honest enough having discovered my car wasn’t as sick as first thought and not needing all the work done they’d quoted for, to tell me that and reduce the bill accordingly. Highly recommended and I will definitely use them again. Thanks guys.

EAC (Expensive And Cr*p?)

Vauxhall Insignia 1.8 Petrol 65 plate now an expensive paperweight

They had my car in a while ago now, needed some bits and bobs doing, not really to sure exactly what was done as I hadn't had the car long so it was all paid for between the company I bought it off and the warrenty company, never got any records or reports of exactly what they did but the last thing they did was replaced the thermostat as the radiator fan was on constantly. Had it back a few days and was driving on the motorway and all of a sudden car overheats and all the lights come on telling me to stop.
I wait on the hard shoulder on the M6 while it cools down a bit and when I look it appears to have no coolant. I manage to top it up but like an idiot didn't take it straight back to them to look at it not realizing the extent of the damage it did.
So here I am not really able to prove this now being told that the air probably hadn't been bled from the system after they did the work and that is why it happened.
The person advising me of this is the person who is now having to put a replacement engine in the car as the current engine, with under 50k miles on the clock by the way, is too damaged to be worth the risk of trying to rebuild.
03/03/22 -Update
So £1700 later I find out that the thermostat needed replacing again as the housing was broken. Now you can buy the thermostat without the housing but not the housing without the thermostat so I guess these cowboy's damaged the housing fitting the replacement thermostat (at least I have a spare now I guess)
Just incompetent do not use this company.
They look professional but I guess it's a case of
All the gear but no idea

DO NOT TRUST

DO NOT TRUST
EAC advise on there website that they are part of the motor ombudsman service but they are not.

I checked with the Motor ombudsman and they advised that EAC’s link with the ombudsman has expired due to failure to comply with the ombudsman’s service.

That tells you everything about this dishonest company!!!

High prices for poor service

Extremely Poor Service. Prices are high and staff never call you back with any updates. On more than two occasions they have created more faults with my vehicle which were not present when the vehicle was left with them. Very long wait times for parts.

Expect very long wait times if you need to leave your vehicle with them and don't expect to have your vehicle back in the same condition. It will be worse and you will have to pay for it.

Would avoid at all costs!!

Took my car for a full service and brake pads the bill was £565 only for the brake pads to make a squealing noise 12 months later (given the car had barley done any miles during lockdown) took it to two different garages who told me the exact same thing that the pads weren’t put on correctly and had be pushed so hard in the only way the garage could stop the noise was to brake the pads off (both garages said this) so obviously I took it back for Paul the manger of EAC to tell me someone had looked at it and the brake pads were worn down!! So I asked if he would grease them up to stop the squealing and he said they would but it’s pointless (like putting a plaster on a broken leg) his words.. Now what was I going to do next… obviously take it to another garage and ask them if my brake pads needed replacing and surprise surprise the garage said no they were fine and EAC hadn’t even greased the pads properly and I left EAC less than an hour ago! Honestly you couldn’t make this crap up. They are a super expensive garage operated by poor mechanics. As the saying goes, “Pay cheap pay twice” use EAC in Telford and it’s “remortgage your house then remortgage it again”!!!

**UPDATE** Received a phone call of the owner Mark this evening seems a pleasant enough man who has promised to rectify this problem for me for free. So fingers crossed.

So today the 18/8/2021 i collected my car back from EAC Telford after they offered to put the things mentioned above right and then as I made them aware that I was taking my car to a RAC Exception garage to see if the work had been done properly this time round and it has been, All new discs, pads and sensors. (Due to them being worn down in less than 9,000 miles)
It’s unfortunate I had to take this course of action towards this garage and have now withdrew my resolver complaint and trading standards complaint.

Fiat scudo diesel leak

Had diesel leak on my van and thought it might still be under warranty of injector seals they fitted but was charged £78 for reconnecting a leak off pipe I could have done myself , coming away I thought if it isn't injectors and is leak off pipe then I just knew the problem wasn't fixed as ive had issues with leak off pipes before with this van and on my research they only last around 3 years before they wear out and need replacing , took van back and as I thought they confirmed new leak off pipe kit ,£305 fitted , I nearly choked , didn't even offer me an option of , oh well Mr walker we misdiagnosed the initial problem so we will knock the £78 off your bill , no courtesy at all , feel totally ripped off , I've bought the leak off kit myself and I'll be fitting it myself , feel this company are all words and overpriced with it , won't be going back

Avoid with all measures!!

Absolutely terrible service and the way mark talked to me. After having a number of opinions from other garages I believe that there work carried out was in efficient and would not reccomend the place to anyone. Paid an unnecessarily amount of money and this isnt just an opinion from one other garage.

Great customer service by all Staff

Great customer service by all Staff, been a few times.es with my Vauxhall astra estate. First with slave/master cylinder. The manage to find the fault and have it replaced and fixed second for major service, they even cleaned the car before I picked it up. Also to confirm diagnosis of faulty sensor. Picked it up today and driving/ working fine. Prices could be a bit cheaper but all in all I must give great rating.
