I had a poor experience with this firm. Despite clearly instructing them not to proceed with a certain action to avoid extra costs, they did it anyway and added the charges to my bill. They also carried out a procedure that any competent solicitor should know is not accepted by the court, which meant I paid for something completely pointless. I would advise others to be cautious, as I ended up paying for work that should never have been done.

AVOID - The attitude and customer service of these solicitors is beyond apalling. They do not respond to queries unless it is on their terms, if you ask them to treat something as a priority they want additional money. We ported our mortgage and because they did not understand the process for Halifax even though it was clearly written they decided to withold half of our profit from the sale and as this was 2 weeks before christmas we did not receive the funds until January. They speak to you like you are a child and are very patronising - They really are shockingly rude and unhelpful - Avoid at all costs!!!!

Miya was great to deal with at Eric Robinson Solicitors. Everything was explained to me clearly and she always came back to me quickly. We had a situation with our buyers solicitors where they were being very slow. Miya worked really well with our agent to push this through in the timeframe that we needed. Would highly recommend.

We have bought and sold through Michelle & the team at Eric Robinson in the last 6 months, and we have repeatedly been impressed at their diligence, persistence, attention to detail and positivity. On a number of occasions we feel Michelle went the extra mile in finding solutions to the hurdles we faced. They communicated brilliantly with us, and with the estate agents. And the result is that house buying and selling was a positive and not-too-stressful process. We would highly recommend.

Interacting with Eric Robinson Winchester Miya Smith was really disappointing. We were selling our house and Eric Robinson were the Buyer's solicitor. Our own conveyancer mentioned multiple times that he was receiving no replies from ER Winchester to his emails. Miya also missed the fact we had two title deeds so this introduced delay whilst she corrected that and she wasn't quick. Then there was what appeared to be the let's make simple things more complicated approach - Miya alighted on an exonerated issue in one of the title deeds and insisted on an indemnity insurance. I am pretty sure it came from her and not the bank. We hadn't paid out in the 31 years we had lived in the property which is pretty strong evidence it really was exonerated. Our neighbour also had never paid anything either and had identical clauses in their title deeds. So Miya's over zealous approach on a non issue caused a lot of email traffic and discussion around indemnity policies which no one needed. The conveyance went through in the end but I would refuse to deal with anyone in future using ER. Oh and yes, I did try and contact ER Winchester but they never bothered to reply so hence this review.

Hazzra Huxford has been helping us with our house move. She has been beyond outstanding throughout the entire process; professional, very efficient, trustworthy, supportive… I could go on! Thank you for everything Hazzra, you have helped us so much.

We used Eric Robinsons conveyancing department for the sale of our house and purchase of a new property. Our Solicitor was Samantha Gilby from the Bitterne office. Samantha was amazing. She was constantly on the ball, always contactable and reacted to queries very quickly. She was clear and concise with all the information. Buying and selling a property is very stressful and there is a lot of information that needs to be understood. Samantha made the whole process flawless, smooth and easy. There were no doubts from us whatsoever with the work that Samantha did for us. She made the whole process easy to understand and we totally trusted that she would get the job done. It's obvious that she works very hard and has her clients interests as her priority. I have nothing but praise for Samantha. She is a credit to your company and I do hope her work is recognised and duly rewarded.

Not kept updated. Sent info stating could get regular updates every step of the way via app…no updates at all on it. Important legal document lost after being physically handed to receptionist, causing unnecessary stress to an already stressful situation. Advised this would be highlighted to ‘partners’…was it…who knows. Would I recommend…no

Paid £852 upfront for will work. Months of chasing, missed deadlines, and nothing delivered.

We made a formal complaint on 20 Jan 2026 to Matthew Large and were promised a substantive response by 9 Feb 2026.

Another deadline they set themselves and missed, despite us following their official complaints process via their Dispute Resolution Department.

This followed a recent bereavement and the lack of compassion and communication has been, and continues to be, distressing and harmful.

Avoid at all costs.

I used the Chandlerford branch of Eric Robinson, and delighted to say they offered a superb service from start to finish, they kept me informed on proceedings with the property sale every step of the way, best Solicitor firm I have ever dealt with, and would have no hesitation in using again or recommending. I contacted this firm to prepare a new will after my husband passed away. From the outset, the process was slow and required constant chasing for updates. Despite meetings where my instructions were discussed, details were not properly recorded and I was asked to provide the same information more than once.

Communication was extremely poor, with long periods of no response, even when I explained there was urgency due to travel plans. I ultimately had to leave the UK without being able to sign my will and, since chasing for an update, I have heard nothing further.

One email sent on the 11th of December 2025 to my solicitor, still has had no response as of the 18th January 2026 a total of 38 days (and counting).

Given the sensitive circumstances, the lack of care, organisation, and follow-through was deeply disappointing. I have lost all trust in the service and will be taking my instructions elsewhere.
