Helpful reply to emails

Though I had problems they replied helpfully to my email sometimes within a day always within two or three days even outside of the 30 days I have requested and received help at around 90 days.

Do not buy from these people.

I totally agree with the majority of the reviews. I have been told exactly the same about a refund and quoted the same phrases from their advertisement and web site. Definitely a very suspicious business.
I will take down this review if I receive a refund but suspect it will be on here for some time!

I am just starting.....

At the moment I have just started to request a full refund against this company. I think they are quite disreputable.
This is my full request to them for a refund, and I will keep this site appraised of the progress.

"I purchased a single 4th generation hearing aid on August 26, 2023.
Unfortunately they are not improving my hearing in any way.
I have tried all the pods provided and gone through the range of volumes, and nothing is effective.
I therefore wish to request a full refund as stated on you web page:
"30-DAY RISK-FREE COVER! & 100% HEARING PERFORMANCE PROMISE"
Risk free means I will not be financially out of pocket.
I am well within the 30 day risk free window.
So please send me the necessary information to return this and get a full refund.
Time is of the essence, If I do not get a satisfactory response from you in 7 calendar days, I will be reporting this transaction to both PAYPAL and AMEX, my credit card company.
There have been enough negative comments on TrustPilot to indicate you are not a trustworthy dealer."

Buyer beware

Generation 4 hearing aids bought online for my wife are no use to her as the shape with even the smallest pad size will not fit her ears so under the UK distance selling Act I requested a full refund within the permitted timescales but they are refusing to do so, they quote their T&C's but these do not comply with UK law. I guess it will need to be a credit card chargeback or small claims court to get my refund.

Helpful

Came quickly, worked well, found them comfortable. Had an issue after 3/4 months. They were swift with their reply and offered to replace straight away.

Shocking outfit

They were adamant that they would not refund. Eventually I had to quote distance selling laws and threaten court action to get a refund. Shows they have no faith in their product.
Be careful - I wouldn’t go near them again

Please check returns policy before…

Please check returns policy before buying, My 70 year old mother ordered 5th Generation, but they were of no use to her. When she contacted ES Hearing they said she had to persevere and use continually, however when she re-contacted them to confirm they were still of no use and how did she return, she was told because she had used them too much they wouldn't be able to refund. Is this not a contradiction on the advice given!

Ensure you speak to someone on the phone before buying as if you wear hearing aids just now these will likely not make much difference to you.

Beware the risk free guarantee

Beware the risk free guarantee, it’s designed to be misleading since you will not get your money back if your ear canals are not suitable. It’s borderline a con in my book, but I’m sure legally they will continue to get away with this.

unusable :meaningless 30 day guarantee

Paid £180 for pair of in ear aids.
Unfortunately proved unusable due to ear canals being too small to accommodate. Requested refund as per Thier advertised 30 day risk free cover. This was refused as they claim it only applies to technical problems. These would be covered by existing consumer legislation for minimum 12 months anyway!
All they could offer was for us to send them another £90 for a pair of behind ear aids with no guarantee of refund if they also proved unsuitable.
Subsequent to posting this review they refunded my payment, and requested i change review.

AWAITING A REFUND

I received a hearing aid which was not suitable for my needs. I returned it by recorded delivery and it was signed for two days later. Trying to speak to anyone or get answers from emails is impossible. They just take your money and don’t care about making any refunds. Do not trust them. The person in charge changed the company name from HMBHearing last month as that had so many bad reviews. How I wish I had known that. He has no conscience and just preys on elderly people with hearing difficulties,

14 August 2023
Since writing this review I have received an apology and a promise of a refund. Once the refund has been made I will remove this review. It’s a shame it took a month to get an answer.

Don’t bother awful customer service

If I could give -5 I would ES hearing is a re launch of a previous Ltd company which had bad reviews and took much cash.
I contacted them to a report a non charging aid and initially I spoke with someone on the phone and started a return request of an address to send them to - no address shared with me and the telephone conversation stoped too. Then a threat a boy an address I found online linked to tte company director ( not a difficult task)
Two weeks on they have failed to share a return address but sent an threating email about mediation via Irwin Mitchel and threats about writing bad reviews about the business.

Never have they offered a return address nor have they complied with distance selling rules and regulations they do there upmost not to take care of my needs … all gone quiet the past 5 days not answering phone calls, wattsapp messages and emails

Warning do not fall for this business practices / next steps contact rogue traders / trading standards and the VAT man a make others aware of this misspelling and distinct lack of customer service… watch out for the 5 star reviews most likely written by the company.

Considering purchasing? Be cautious.

I am not in the habit of leaving negative reviews. However, on this occasion I think it is justifiable in an attempt to avoid others making the same mistake I did with this company.

Based on the information on their website, I ordered In The Ear hearing aids from them. According to their website (at the time I ordered) these hearing aids were suitable for my type of hearing loss (severe). However, when I received them, the packaging described them as suitable for ‘mild to moderate hearing loss’ which, therefore, meant they were of no use to me.

I attempted to contact the company by the ‘Help’ email address listed on their website but to no avail as the address was invalid. I had, therefore, to resort to their messaging facility which precluded me from sending photos showing the discrepancy in the information shown on their website versus the packaging on the product I received.

In response to my message, I received an email reply which I suspect was a generic response and quite possibly auto-generated and which made no mention of the basis of my complaint, namely product not as described and misleading information on their website.

I responded to the email with the photos of the information on their website versus the information on the package. In response they refuted the legitimacy of my claim for a refund and offered two alternatives as a gesture of goodwill (!).

1. On return of the hearing aids to them they would provide me with a pair of Behind The Ear (BTE) hearing aids at no additional cost or
2. Keep the purchased pair and pay the difference for the BTE set.

Neither option was a satisfactory solution to the problem (which was not of my making) as I already have a fully functional pair of BTE hearing aids and was seeking to specifically purchase ‘In The Ear’ hearing aids.

However, what was of most concern to me was what I can only describe as a threatening disclaimer clearly designed to deter customers from escalating a complaint.

As I had received a totally unsatisfactory response from the company to my refund request, I escalated the matter to PayPal through their Resolution Centre process. PayPal found in my favour and, as a result, I received a full refund.

In conclusion, I would advise anyone considering purchasing from this company to think carefully before doing so and to check the small print with great care.

Be absolutely sure that what you choose to buy from this seller completely fulfils all your requirements as, based on my experience, they will do whatever they can to avoid issuing a refund.
