Etax user since 2005, only way I'll ever do my tax
I've been using etax since 2005 and will simply not do my taxes any other way. During the early, clunky, years of reporting, when I had lots of HECS debt and the system was a lot slower, the service was outstanding, even then. I felt the team listened to my many complex questions, sought answers and the best outcome for me. But they were always honest and straightforward about what I needed to do, what I owed, and what I needed to do next (there were many years of living overseas when things got a bit tricky). Even though these days my tax returns are very run-of-the-mill, etax still manages to make the process easier. They actively look for ways to save me money, and the small fee they charge is tax deductible. I love how over the time I've been a customer they have always strived to improve their automated service, while still having a responsive team of experts who are when you need them.

Terrible service
Initially when the lodgement looked easy and straightforward, the service was good. The accountant I spoke to on the phone was very sweet.
The moment things got out of normal, any accountant that saw my message (assuming it wasn't the same accountant everytime) just kept dragging their feet and asking me to wait. If one of you had just checked with ATO whether everything was on track when I requested, we would have known about the issue then and I could have sorted it out and gotten my refund 3-4 weeks ago. I know this for a fact because I have confirmed this myself with ATO multiple times. Instead I had to do everything myself. I should have just stuck to my usual accountant, just gone face to face like I do every year, instead of feeling like it will be a hard task with my little baby while on maternity leave. He would have been amazing like he is every year and the cost in the same. Plus I would have saved all the 50 odd dollars that I had to pay as overdue fees for everything waiting for my tax return.
I will definitely not be recommending etax to anyone, not that it is going to affect you guys much.
Terrible terrible service when things get out of typical.
Let's see if they leave this review up or just have it deleted saying it's not "objective".
I have been objective and stated facts clearly and have proof of all the messages between us.

Great Site For An Easy Tax Return
The Prefill feature saves a heap of time, the site is very easy to navigate, and there are suggestions on what I can enter based on my previous tax returns.

Enquired for a tax return, changed my mind and eTax didnt want to refund any of my deposit money
Enquired for a tax return and paid a deposit for the process to begin, I changed my mind to use eTax within 24 hours and messaged to have my money spent for starting the process refunded and heard zero information back when I sent multiple messages in the message section of the eTax return I started. I'd give zero stars for the lack of anything, I only had a robot respond to me which is unreal...

Impeccable Customer Service
Made doing 3 years worth of tax refunds so easy and seamless, completely took out the stress of doing tax, the customer service is on another level i took almost a month to get certain information and my accountant not only forwarded the refund through the day after but found another $1100 to get chucked on on top, recommending to everyone
