I travel only two times with this…

I travel only two times with this company and hope that never again. No responsibility about anything. Meal what I payed online never recive, money for that meal also. Prices very hight for low cost. When you just start to look for the ticket it fine, but when it come to pay be carful ,check twice what you chosen if you ll make one smal mistake you Ll pay a lot of money instead. Always traveling with star alliance companies I take use to the service... Costumer service is not bad,I mean they answer fast by phone and they really friendly. Only one problem they can’t really help.

This Airline is honestly really bad in regards with customer service

This Airline is honestly not the greatest airline ever, they are very rude and arrogant people working with them, not ready to offer any form of help. I had 2 bag one was 22kg and the other was 24kg ok balance it up and transfer the bag( No) the guy was so condescending after paying for delayed flight. You can’t even help with that. What Turkish airline doesn’t even complain about. Next to Enter they were like I have excess baggage, either I pay now or they will cancel my flight. Like wow even threatening me . Telling me who told me I can carry 3 bags( in which I believe you are entitled to a laptop bag, handbag and 8kg of handluggage). Next entered the flight nothing was free, you have to buy what you will eat on the plane. Doesn’t even make sense and a lot more. And when I paid for my extra baggage. The guy used another customers card to pay and couldn’t even help find change and almost made me lose extra money by saying 66 euro is 90$, thank God I was communicating with someone on the phone who made me know it was 73$

Low cost out of nowhere

They are way too expensive for what they offer. Prices became totally intransparent - just half a year ago they were normal airline, today they are low cost with all services description that is still as if nothing changed. I wish somewhere on my ticket or during booking on german website somebody tells you that check-in at the airport isnt free anymore. After all the services I paid on top, I regret I didnt fly with Turkish or Lufthansa. Wont do that mistake again...

Excellent airline on a budget, does what you need

Ukraine international airlines has been by far the best experience for the price that we paid to travel. Much better than ryanair and other budget airlines. We flew from Gatwick to Kiev (Kyiv) and took a return flight a few days later.

We ordered a nice beef and potato mix with my friend ordering a burger. The food was served perfectly fine and to the standard as required; any specifics of food quality would be more the catering company to review but regardless; the standard was fair. The stewards/stewardesses were very nice and always either smiling or showing a positive appreciation (even if not in the face). During our time in Ukraine we were told by a tour guide that culturally Ukranians don't smile much so we appreciate the difference in culture which may affect the experience. I think some people on here may need to try and understand other cultures before making rash judegements. I may be mistaken though.

Although not very easy to find, any questions you have regarding restrictions can be easily asked through customer service or friendly UIA helper. In fact we had an issue with wrong name on ticket and it was quickly resovled. I would like to personally thank Daryna for their amazing service to helping our needs, as without them we wouldn't have had a trip. Baggage restrictions were specifically emailed to my address before departure and made the important bits (which would cost money if mistaken) were highlighted well in advance.

If you actually read the rules and stick to the code then you wont end up paying fees or extra. My advice is check in online, preorder food and be patient.

All in all a positive experience for the price that was paid. If you want all the smiles, baggage allowance and legroom dont fly with a budget airline.

I strongly NOT recommend FlyUIA to anyone

I strongly advice everyone TO THINK MULTIPLE TIMES before buying ticket for flight with Ukrainian International Airlines (FlyUIA). Later you will pay with your nerve cells for the cheap ticket. So, think again and choose the right company, with the CLIENT-ORIENTED service. And it's not FlyUIA.
1. FlyUIA lost my luggage, September 2018. I kept calling and checking with them the news about my luggage in the 21 days period by arriving. Nothing found. I won't ever believe the Tegel Airport in Berlin was a problem. I'm absolutely sure the fault was of Boryspil airport and FlyUIA.
2. After nothing was found, finally I wrote a claim to compensate my lost luggage. They waited exactly 90 days to respond (the maximum amount by Ukrainian law). And then they sent me the email with their offer to compensate 230$ (this amount was around half of what I demanded in my claim; and it's without moral compensation even!).
3. Then I gathered all the receipts and copies of receipts for most of the goods in my luggage and sent it to FlyUIA. I demanded to review the compensation. The answer TOOK 5 MONTHS. FIVE M O N T H S! During this period I was calling them at least 15 times, sent multiple emails. Always the same answer 'soon the customer relations department will get back to you'. And finally after my comments at official FlyUIA Facebook page – they answered to my compensation claim. Answer was: 'sorry, some of your receipts don't have date on it, and some are not compensable... so, we can compensate ~180$ by your receipts'. Well, they didn't notice the date at one of the receipts. Another one receipt – I found and sent them additional proves..
4. Again few months of waiting. Now, after almost 10 months – finally I received the compensation, little bit higher than 230$.
Aside of that, all the way around this mess happening.. I never lost control on my emotions, never swear or never said curse words towards FlyUIA.. Eventhough the customer support was just totally useless and even irritating.
I want to emphasize there is NO ANY CLIENT SERVICE at FlyUIA. They absolutely DON'T CARE about customers problems, feelings, etc. In fact, people are not clients for them, people are just units.

Ukrainian International Airlines works just fine..90% of the time.

Ukrainian International Airlines is basically a low cost carrier; although basic amenities are included on long haul flights. Their website is well navigable, has a good font and is very easy to go through the booking process.

Flying Ukrainian International Airlines is a very basic and no thrills experience but planes are clean, hub airport Borispyl at Kyiv surprisingly well organized for a former Soviet Union country Airport.

EU flights are generally timely performed due to the strict EU compensation rules. Other flights can be prone to more delays and cancellations if the flight is deemed economically unviable. Not your most reliable airline but it works 90% of the time just fine.

Ukraine International Airlines decided…

Ukraine International Airlines decided to unilaterally cancel our flight back from Sri Lanka (we were on vacation) and kept the money!! They returned it back to us ONE YEAR LATER. I tried to claim from them but as they are outside the European Union, you can't. Never answered any of our emails. Besides, the rescheduled flight was double price! They simply left us in a foreign country, without returning flight!! Never fly UIA again, no matter how "cheap" may the ticket be, in the end, it turned out to be very expensive for us.

Very bad service...

Very bad service.... if you want to send your kids alone, you have to buy full price ticket, pay additional 80 EUR for unaccompanied minor service, but when you do checkin, your kids sit separately. If you want them to sit together... pay again 5 or 7 EUR per each segment.
And if you want them to check in at the airport... you pay even more for "checkin at the airport service" as it is not included in the 80 EUR fee.

Services like this were in past dropped by several low-cost airlines, but seems some other airlines like UIA are coming with simlar practices.

Worst experience I had with airport staff!

My nightmare started when I was taking the flight back from Kiev to London.
When I was about to board the aircraft, a very aggressive blonde lady asked my family member to pay an additional fee as he had a hand luggage and another small item in his hand. As he had plenty of space in the luggage, he put his item inside the luggage so he would not need to pay a fee for that.
The blonde lady got very angry because he did that and asked him to put his luggage in the luggage checker. It fits as I measured all the bags before going on holidays.
She claimed it did not fit and got very angry as I said that clearly it fits in the box.
She then got the luggage with HER HAND and said it was overweighted.
At this point I claimed: how can you say it is overweight if you do not have a scale to check it?
That was it. I could see the fury in her eyes. She felt challenged and from that moment she decided to take all her fury on us.
She made us all put our luggage in the checker and for her surprise, all of them fitted (again, because I measured all of them before going on holidays).
So she got all of our luggage with HER HANDS and said all of them were overweighted!!
How can she say that if she does not even have a scale to try and prove anything? Using the hands to say that is overweighted is just absurd!
While all of this was happening, the queue was going on and she was putting pressure: "You need to pay the fee. You don't have time to argue. The gate is going to close and you will be locked outside of the aircraft".
All of this to make us pay. I then had to pay 1984 UAH for luggage that was 'oversized and overweighted' (according to her) and we entered the aircraft. She did not allow me to take a picture of her badge with name because she knows she was doing wrong thing, so I do not have her name
Inside the aircraft, as we were the last ones to board, there was no space to fit our luggage. The crew staff made my 2 family members dispatch their luggage, but we only had 1 bag tag proving that the bag was dispatched.
Of course I did not like it as I could not prove the baggage was dispatched in case it did not show up when we arrived in London.
Also, apart from all of that, we did not have space to put our bags into the cabin places and needed to go with them in front of our seats! I am attaching the pictures for you to see how inconvenient that was.
In the end: I was charged incorrectly by a VERY rude and agressive lady, I needed to pay an extra fee for no reason, they dispatched my baggage and did not give me the tag and I needed to go the whole trip with a luggage in front of the seat.

scam!!!

Airline website seems designed to foil you. Staff are scammers and will take your money

On-line boarding pass is available on the outward journey but for the return the website “locked up” and prevented us from retrieving the passes.

At the check in desk we were told we had to pay 15 euros EACH to get passes printed. They would not take payment at the desk and directed us to a non-existent ticket office to settle it. Not knowing what else to do we arrived at the gate and explained. They demanded cash. When we offered it they took it and one member ran off with it to “check all is OK”. No receipt, nothing. He literally ran away.

We were then told everything is OK and we can board. Still no receipt.

This is corruption and extortion, plain and simple. Crooked airline, crooked staff.

Its pretty bad.

I have been flying UIA regularly between NYC and Kharkiv, via Kiev. Lately, they have become a showcase of incompetence, greed and generally bad service. I can no longer recommend it. And will stop flying it myself.

For example, I lost two days on one of my recent trips because they made a mistake in issuing my ticket and could not correct it in time for my flight. Mistakes do happen. What was downright insulting is that rude airline representative has tried to shift the blame for their own mistake on me. I lost time and money but received nothing as much as an apology from the airline. Shame on you for treating your regular customers this way.

Another recent instance when I was charged a fine for the excessive carry-on luggage. The luggage itself was a very light and thin carton box (I'm attaching the picture). Its about an inch thick and weights 300 grams. I can't comprehend this can be determined to be "excessive". But either way , that's not the real kicker here. You see, I was actually permitted to check in and board at the origin airport with that same box just fine. I was however then fined MIDWAY through my flight! During the layover in Kiev. Imagine my surprise, when after already completing the first 9h flight, I am suddenly stopped and told that I can't continue the trip unless up pay up airline fine. What nonsense! Where have you been when I was checking in? When I had time, and ability to just put that package in the luggage? And if you told me once that the package is fine as a carry-on, how can you stop me half way and fine me?

Basically it all comes down to general incompetence. They were given the book with rules, but were not taught to also use their head in order to avoid idiotic situations like that and alienating their previously loyal customers.

we will NEVER fly UIA again!!!! or recommend to anyone to fly this airline

it boggles my mind that the airline would prefer to make few euros on one flight but lose the customers forever and eventually lose hundreds of $$$.
We had an emergency family trip, bought tickets literally couple hours before flying out. we didn't receive email with information on check-ins and their hidden fees. went straight to airport, and boom, they charge for check-in 30 euro! 30 goddam euro for printing a piece of paper!!!!! this is beyond outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!! the desk service is below standards, but what could we expect?!?
I'll make sure none of my relatives or friends will even look your way, Ukrainian Airlines, I will make sure everyone is aware of the terrible service you give, and the crazy hidden fees you apply when people can't do anything about. you just lost money you could be making with my family flying international long-haul, not just short jump flight my family had to fly for emergency. bad marketing strategy!

DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE

DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE ! ! !
I am a frequent flyer and during my studies i tried to save money by choosing UIA. I really accept a lot of things but this Airline is just absolutely horrible.
The staff on board and in Kyiw is simply R U D E, and E V E R Y Single leg of my trip was late. Nobody speaks english or at least they don't care enough to speak to You at all. Missed my flight to Dubai because of delay of the previous flight. Although i had a Boarding pass and the plane to Dubai was still at the gate for another hour (!) they didn't let me Board. A young Lady at the counter simply rolled her eyes and turned around to ignore me. Like seriously?!?!?! That's just no way to treat anybody, but unfortunately in the Ukraine this seems to be a common thing.

The worst airline in the world

The worst airline in the world. was at the door to the plane and a young guy didn`t let to board because he didn`t like the fact that the bag looked bigger then usual. He said to pay for it 66Eur i only had cash on me, he said only card but where the heck would i get it if Im out from different country and all my cards are on hold for protection.
And they got new rules u buy a ticket but without seat, we had to pay extra 40Eur for seat not because we wanted to sit next to each other but because they are selling it without seats.
The cheapest company and the madest staff. that guy was only around 20
The plane inside is the cheapest in entire world.

Very bad hand luggage policy

Very bad hand luggage policy ! Low cost airline are better. Really something that should be changed back to how it was before. 12 kg and international standard sizes. Besides this everything works okay. But dear UIA ! You will loose customers if you keep your hand luggage policy at 7 kg and small sizes.
