I started off this for my mum and as of today’s date 10/03/2026 no work has begun on mums house I now am finding this very unacceptable . We were told work should begin by December last year but still nothing I am going to contact the newspapers as this has gone on far too long it is over 6yrs fighting the council on my mum’s behalf and to be honest with you Gowing law have not fulfilled their promises to us to have mums house done x

its been a long process getting the counical to fix all the problems with my home, but after 9 years I pritty much gave up. but then Gowing law came, they did an inspection, ask for all proof i had of my contact with the council but after 9 years i've lost most of it.
I did check online what they was like before signing anything, in the end i had nothing to lose.

It turned out to be one of the best decisons of my life. yeah it took months too sort out. but in the end we won, and i did not have to lift a finger. the council was given 150 days to complete all repairs. at the end i was being made redunant from my job so a little over 150 later i forgot that the council had not completed the work. Gowing law kept in contact (not like pest calls, only when there was a logical need, or update) they automattcally handle the late repairs problems and kicked the council to move faster.

I really can't fault them, however the council !! I did this not really caring or wanted any money. I just wanted a home that was not falling apart and freezing. I was rewarded money but the council checks if you O any rent and if you do will credit your rent instead... so that is want they did...but i don't O any rent. infact i've been in credit for at least 5 years of about £500.

I did raise this with the gowing law, and i said in the end if i really need it and can ask to releasse some of my rent if i ever need it.
But to my suprice after that a few months later after all repairs are done, i get a cheque from Gowing law. not much and was most likely because the council was late on there repairs. but I am very happy they did what they could so I received some money instead of having to jump through hoop having to talk to the council to release credited funds. (it would be like talking to a brick wall)

If i ever need to sue the council again.. I would happy use Gowing law. very professional and understanding to my personal and mental needs.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but if you read them and inbetween the lines. its clearly angry people who can't think straight and dont understand the process. Yeah it takes a long time to sort out. But YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING, they will fight you war for you.

ps please note the date of my experience was almost a whole year ago and its only just been concluded I know we started contact a month or 2 before august i think (lost my job after that) work started in late november, concluded in feb i think. I've been very busy

After 4 months, I have had no allowance made for my disability, and everytime I complain and ask for either a x senior partner or the DEI manager, ask i get are complaints.

This form seem to ignore their obligations to identify themselves, as they make up excuses that they cannot call from the main number, which are anti scam measures advised by the ICO and the met police. I feel abused by what seems to be arrogant staff who bully people into using non secure phone numbers.

I have tried to get a senior partner yesterday, but instead of them making reasonable adjustments for me, they wanted me to make unreasonable adjustments for them!

It was a friendly service all round, the lady at the beginning was fantastic and I found the surveyor a little bit edgy and didn’t see the issues as much as what the lady did. Still waiting on cheque but can’t complain would definitely recommend!! Many thanks

please dont use gowin solicitors. when we were given information from our landlord and asked for our pay out they told us we were unjustified for asking what the landlord stated . then when we asked for compensation they told us we were being to over realistic in what we wanted for the outcome, then they offered us 500 pound for 90,000 pound payout and then took 320 pound leaving us with 120 to repair 90 grands worth of fixtures there a con and really unreliable as a no win no fee solicitor , there money grabbing and leave you in the shit after and then tell you they will no longer be our solicitor because of what we wanted as compensation , plus they have not done there job properlly as they havent persued the shower situation leaving me with no meens to wash for a year , if they did there job propperlly they would of got the housing assosiation to comply through health and safty which they couldnt be bothered about , 1 year later were moving out in 3 weeks and they are now putting in a shower because we are moving these are shit dont use

Great experience from the second the representative knocked on my door. Got all the works carried out in a matter of weeks and to a higher standard than they would normally. Eventually got all of the issues resolved that would with no doubt still be ongoing now had gowing law not been involved. Highly recommend

2 people came to my door saying they work with council/government and if I have any disrepairs, that theyre checking all flats in the building. Only because they said they work for council I let them in. They didnt discuss anything at all with me only took pictures of my place and said they will send me an email. When I received email I see this is individual company no win no fee solicitors , telling me thank you for signing up with them even thought I never signed any agreement and was never told who exactly they are , they lied theyre from council! When i asked again later what company they are they said they work for government!
Ive been sent multiple documents on email that I havent agreed to sign or anything and told that the information has been passed on to my landlord.
This is complete scam.
I want my name to be removed immediately !

The service from Gowing Solicitors was wonderful. They helped me get compensation from the council and made sure I was always kept in the loop about how my case was going. Even when I was slow to respond because of unforeseen circumstances, they made sure I had all the information I needed through phone calls, emails, and letters. They never stopped reaching out to me. Glowing Law has been assisting my mother and me since her accident. Over the course of eight years, they provided support and helped us secure the compensation we deserved and the assistance we needed following the incident. I am profoundly grateful for their ongoing assistance and services during this period. However, there were instances where communication was lacking; we often had to proactively seek updates or assistance. Additionally, they did not always explain legal matters clearly or simplify complex legal language, which hindered our understanding of the proceedings and the actions required from us.

Overall, I will forever be grateful for their assistance, and I hope they don't take this review as an insult but rather a learning opportunity for the next case, like my mother's and mine, to work better with the clients in the future.

Disrepair claim began in 2022, I finally fired them in Dec 2025. This follows three years of being told to be reasonable, despite the local authority breeching 4 times.
The local authority lied and attempted to threaten to take my home for a non existent breech of section 58 and as of today 13th Dec 2025 a breech of section 26 of my tenancy agreement, getting away with all of this because Gowing Law ignored every fraud the local authority tried to pull off whilst in the midst of a disrepair claim.

Do not use this firm unless you have unlimited time on your hands and are willing to live with the disrepair, whilst your landlord gets away with murder. Gowing Law are only interested in making money off breeches by Landlords, of which mine has breeched 4 times now since 2022.

Got contact by this solicitors-months ago about any Disrepair's in my property and after a a call and pictures send across they decide I have grounds to start a claim against my landlord after months and months of back and forwards I was told this morning by email not even bother to give me a call that my landlord keep denying liability for that reason they have to close the case When previous we talk about taking a matter to civil court but looks like this firm can't be bothered with that so now I was left with most of the repairs undone and some only partially complete really disappointed it's now clear to me this company is not competent enough to start and finish a claim think twice before get him taking care of your case plenty better out there. This was a lesson to me.

All though it was due to a cold call all the staff were very efficient and experienced.
The company kept me fully informed and upto date with what was happening and when.

Repairs are still in the process of being completed Gowing helped alot with getting this in the process some that have been needed doing for years would highly recommend using this company for help as they have always been really nice and polite with any queries that I’ve had hopefully by next year everything is done so I can finally decorate the way I wanted so thank you for all the help and push you have gave the council to follow out these repairs
