We chose to use Marc as a local business to us and had seen him recommended by a number of people in the area. And how glad we were, that we found him! Marc spent a great deal of time going through our options and understanding what we needed. Being self employed, I expected us to have to go through loads of red tape, especially as we were in the middle of the COVID crisis, but Marc kept everything as simple as possible and found us a mortgage deal to suit us. He also helped us review our life policies, and now have products that are suited to our current situation.

I had a positive experience with Grey Matters (Marc) in procuring a mortgage with Halifax. There was an issue with the original property that fell through and the terms of the mortgage were re-negociated quickly. I didn't feel bombarded with information.
A check list might have been good in preparation for contract exchange as I overlooked the requirement for buildings insurance for contract exchange. It wasn't a problem, as I was able to get a policy changed quickly with my insurance provider over the phone.
It was stated in the legal bundle fine print, but wasn't highlighted so I overlooked it.

I don't normally complete these online reviews but my experience with Marc and his team was exceptional with regards to my re mortgage. From start to finish the support and advice was excellent and for a change my expectations were well managed. It took under 4 weeks from start to finish for the re mortgage to be completed and I was expecting at least 8 weeks minimum.

Grey Matters made what could have been a very stressful experience easy. They turned “help to buy” mortgage into a regular mortgage (meaning we own the entirety of our house once paid instead of only a percentage), something we didn’t think we would be able to do.
