The lady who answered my call was extremely kind, very knowledgeable, and committed to solving my problem. Really, really good. I highly recommend the Saxo Bank platform for training independently on the stock market.
In short time I was able to solve my problem with the help of your friendly assistant

I am sharing this experience for other investors using Saxo Bank A/S for international equity custody.
I held a significant position in Piraeus Bank S.A. shares affected by a corporate action involving the merger of Piraeus Financial Holdings S.A. into Piraeus Bank S.A. Although the shares were already trading on the Athens Stock Exchange from 22 December 2025, my position remained unavailable for trading in my Saxo account until approximately 15 January 2026. During this period, I was unable to trade or manage the position despite the instrument being actively traded in the market.
Saxo Bank A/S explained that the restriction was due to custody processing related to the corporate action and that the shares needed to be merged/consolidated within the custody system before full access could be restored. I was also informed that timelines could not be guaranteed during this process.
However, throughout the period I received inconsistent information regarding the status of the position and when access would be restored, and the situation remained unresolved for several weeks.
In my view, the handling of the situation involved poor communication and a lack of clear ownership of the issue during a period in which the position could not be accessed.
The restriction lasted approximately three weeks after the shares had resumed trading on the exchange.
After escalation through internal complaints, no compensation was offered, and the case was closed with reference to internal process handling. I have since escalated the matter through external dispute resolution channels.
I am sharing this so other investors are aware that custody processing after corporate actions may result in extended periods where positions are not accessible even while the underlying market instrument is trading.

Update 30/06/2026: Saxo Bank stated in their public reply that they had sent me a request through Trustpilot for more information. As of the date of this update, I have not received any such request.
I contacted Trustpilot Support, who confirmed they could not see any request having been sent from Saxo Bank's Trustpilot Business account. They advised that the company would need to trigger the request directly from their Trustpilot Dashboard and recommended that I update my review to notify the company.
I remain willing to provide any information required if Saxo Bank sends the request correctly through Trustpilot or contacts me through the appropriate channel.

Soon you won't be able to fund your account from abroad transfers. UNLESS you are Platinum or whatever, which is very hard to get, and literally requires you to day trade using a lot of money. It's a system that's basically anti-customer. Shame

The staff I dealt with on the phone were very helpful especially Ashvin.
I found that as someone who is not very computer literate, submitting documents was a bit difficult.

Indian customer support outside normal opening hours was a terrible idea, and possibly warrants giving an even lower rating than 3 stars. Just have Danish representatives with adequate authority available on the line as on-call overwork. Do your customers that favour.
The OpenAPI access is honestly something I feel like most Danish platforms are missing or just not providing to ordinary customers. It's the best part about Saxo, aside from the partially performance-based tiers (classic, platinum, VIP, and elite?).
Having both live price feed and an order/trading API in the same place just makes life easier for algorithmic trading. I feel like you guys don't get enough credit for that part specifically.

This broker is completely UNRELIABLE.
Saxo forcibly closed my account as I moved from Switzerland to the UK (even though I maintain ties to Switzerland and was keen on keeping a Swiss account - which is allowed by most other banks).
No reasonable solution was offered and I was even going to be charged 50 € per position to transfer my securities to another broker or be forced to liquidate my positions, paying trading commissions to liquidate the trades and then booking a capital gain on which I would have to pay tax.
The only reply from Saxo has been that it is impossible to keep a Swiss account with them when leaving the country. While I understand their position, what is totally UNACCEPTABLE is that they would CHARGE YOU TO TRANSFER your position to a new broker, or force you to liquidate, facing trading commissions and tax costs, after they unilaterally close your account, giving you only 30 days to sort out a solution, without any help or support from their side. This is a very DISHONEST behaviour towards the customer.
You should NOT TRUST this broker. Any other competitor is a better choice.
