The plumber, Danny, arrived on time, was friendly and helpful and sought out a solution to make the pipes of a grade II listed building work with modern day appliances. He was fast, efficient, very tidy and had some great advice. And equally as important, I wasn't charged spur-of-the-moment crazy prices. I will definitely use this service again and fully recommend it. It's good to have the peace of mind that you are in the hands of trusted professionals with a reputation to keep up, instead of people who put their own glowing reviews up online.

A painless service that saved the hassle of trying to get someone with skills to sort a plumbing job at short notice.

Second time I have used this service. It was very good. Would recommend again.

The work was completed to an excellent standard by really competent professionals. Communication with John Lewis was, as always, excellent. The only criticism comes because of a miscommunication between the JL team booking the work and the firm doing it, however even that issue was rapidly resolved by the JL team. Overall excellent service and no hesitation to use them again.

The gardens were carefully weeded, pruned and tidied entirely to our satisfaction

Furniture assembling.
Gareth made a courtesy call before arriving, much appreciated. Before assembling each piece of furniture he ensured I was happy with the finished quality. Very methodical in his approach, cleaning away any debris as he proceeded. Job well done.

Used for the first time last week booking 5 hours garden work as our large back garden needed a good sorting out. Gary arrived and worked really hard for whole time with impressive results. So impressed we booked another 3 hours work for the front garden the next week and Gary did an equally excellent job there. Easy to use service from John Lewis and if Gary is representative of the tradesmen it’s real value for money compared with our previous efforts to find good people to help.

Bit upset. £80 or so quote ended up as just under £200. £80 or so an hour for a plumber to replace a Creda electric shower with a Triton easyfit shower. Apparently, it took over 2 hours (although I wasn’t there) to replace showers by the same company in the same position. Not using John Lewis again.

Needed a new kitchen tap and associated pipe work done. Darren arrived early and had completed the job in 3/4 hour. He was quick efficient and tidy. Very happy and a JL guarantee.

Booked to have my shower reseated and the finish product is awful...not a professional finish and won’t be using the JL service again!
I feel I could of done the job much better...will now have to get someone else out to do the job again!

So easy to use. Quick. Reasonable price and the workman carried out the job at exactly the time they said they would arrive and within 15 minutes. Very impressed.

Atrocious service. Paid a lot of money for a powerflush and ended up with a major problem of boiling radiator and no hot water.
Customer services was not interested in what I had to say only listened to the contractor’s side of the story. Dont be misled by the John Lewis badge on this service. It might as well be some backstreet service contracting anyone wishing to have a go at some DIY for premiums rates.

This review is for Steve, plasterer in Bristol. He was not the cheapest but was, in my opinion, the best value of the quotes I obtained.
He repaired a water-damaged lounge ceiling and replastered two other ceilings.
His work was very meticulous and he took extreme care to protect existing decoration (lightweight wallpaper) The finish certainly reflects the care he took in both preparation and final smoothing.
I have no hesitation in recommending Steve for similar jobs.

If I were to be reviewing Home Solutions, however, they would receive no more than two stars. Their communications were appalling and I had to rely on direct communication with Steve, who was very good

All work completed promptly and without any untidiness in the house.

We had an issue with the flushing mechanism on our toilet. The plumber, Martyn, did an excellent job in sorting out the problem.

Martyn had previously resolved our faulty immersion heater last year, so we knew we were in good hands. Excellent service, highly recommended.
