I purchased a new build and was concerned about the quality as I had bad experience with the previous builder.

Darren from HouseScan conducted the inspection and he did an excellent job. He spent a whole day from 9 to 5, while "snag guys" my neighbours hired was only a couple of hours, that was impressive. We had around 200 snags where my neighbours had 70 and 30.

The knowledge and experience of Darren was amazing, he pointed out the inadequacies we would never tell and the regulatory knowledge was superb too.

The builder was not bad at resolving the problems, days of work has been carried out, these would cost me at least thousands if I found out the issue two years later.

HouseScan performed a snagging survey on a new build for us. It was quick and easy to arrange and they were easily contacted for questions.
Snagging report was thorough and picked up lots of things I would have missed.

Me and my partner had just purchased a Newbuild within London and we sought after HouseScan for their snagging inspection offering to occur prior to us moving. We were sceptical due to the cost of the service but instantly felt the confidence in our choice due to how HouseScan's speed in e-mails and Harry Yate's Spectacular service during our inspection. I had a new kitchen and bathroom installed by a well known company and we had many concerns with the standard of the work. The company involved were not very helpful so I asked HouseScan if they would come and inspect the work and prepare a report. They agreed to do this and someone came out two days later. They produced a very extensive report by the end of the same day which I duly sent to the fitters and to my amazement they responded immediately and agreed to address every item on the report. HouseScan were very professional and everyone I dealt with was extremely friendly. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing the service

As we’ve just bought a new build which is to be our forever home, we thought it best to invest in having a professional snagging inspection completed. Julie Darby was our inspector and she was extremely thorough. The report is easy to understand and very detailed, which will make it easy for us to check off each individual item once completed by the developer.
Definitely worth paying for this type of report for peace of mind as we’ve all heard the horror stories of new builds!

Absolutely impressed with the service, knowledge and helpfulness of this company and Darren, who was in our home and spent a lot of time to thoroughly inspect everything on our newbuild. He did find numerous issues that we would have missed, and provided invaluable advice that we now feel MUCH better about dealing with our newbuild and the issues that we face. Thank you Darren and Housescan and if anybody is on the fence about their service or the expense, it's absolutely worth every bit and more. We now have peace of mind and are aware of a few issues which will be addressed.

Excellent service to completely put our minds at rest. Our inspector was very friendly and competent, we really appreciate the depth he went to to help us get our home to be perfect. Would thoroughly recommend no matter how good you think your build is!

Arrived as expected, left her to it, and boy is she thorough! Like totally thorough! But what would you expect off an ex building site manager with a degree of OCD! (Sorry Julie)

Service excellent, the report highlighted lots of snags, some which we’re not overly bothered about as they’ll get sorted during decorating, but several that we wouldn’t have spotted in a million!

Overall..... if you’re buying a new build, get a snagging report done (hopefully by Julie), as when you buy an older house you tend to have a survey done, so why not on your new build? It’s hundreds of thousands of pounds you’re spending!

Housescan is a truly reliable and professional company that provides outstanding service results and feedback.

I have previously used other snagging companies including HomeSnag and I can say without any doubt that Homescan provides a far superior service and as importantly a more personal service.

The whole experience begins the moment you contact the office, where the two superstars Pippa and Leanne will assist you with any needs you may have and will happily answer any questions you may have. They are both most friendly, accommodating and knowledge and are also very good at communicating between yourself and the Inspector. If they say they will get back to you with an answer, they will get to you, unlike other organisations that I have used before.

Then on the day of the snagging inspection the Inspector was punctual and arrived on time.
He was very knowledgeable,friendly and personable. On initially surveying my new build apartment he recommended that I have a Thermal Imaging Scan done and I am most grateful to him for doing this, as it highlighted that the doors and windows in my apartment had a draught and heat loss issue. By doing the Thermal Imaging Scan I was able to visually prove this to the developers and they had no choice but to correct this issue as the evidence was indisputable.

Once the initial snagging inspection had been completed, I received a comprehensive snagging report via email the next day, with images, description of the issues and recommendations.

After passing on the snagging report to the developers I then immediately booked a 2nd visit from the Inspector, for him to conduct a Desnag inspection for which I also received a comprehensive report.

Even after the second visit, he is still remains available for any advice that may be needed going forward.

I cannot recommend Housescan highly enough and you will have no regrets if you choose to use them and it will be money very well spent.

They totally exceeded my expectations and if I could give them 10 Stars out 5, I would.

Very helpful and accommodating as I had to change the appointment a few times due to developer delay in completion. The thermal section of report was really useful showing the seals around doors & window not properly fitted.

Excellent service. Thorough report from Darren Ramsbottom who really knew his stuff. Worth every penny. I am now able to go back to the Developer with the authority of a professional report to get them to put matters right.

Professional service from start to finish. Incredible detail in report that makes things easy to address with the housebuilder. Friendly and full of knowledge during the visit, plus customer service promptly replied via email to allow last minute changes to package to be completed. Would thoroughly recommend using their services for peace of mind when purchasing a new build. Our new house had 168 issues, most of which were small cosmetic blemishes, but a handful of more serious issues that would have been an unpleasant surprise later on. Thermal scan is a must!

Quality reporting and survey. Inspector was thorough, positive in how the report should be used and offered great advice.

Easy to book. Prompt. Friendly and very meticulous. Produced a comprehensive report including snags we were unlikely to spot that could cause problems. Whilst the builders weren't thrilled by this it did level the playing field regarding discussion on what was acceptable and what was a snag. Thermoimaging recommended. It's very hard to argue with.

Excellent booking service, was able to book an inspection for the following day. Report was produced and sent within 2 days and was extremely thorough. Worth every penny!

Harry and his team were great. Extremely thorough and honest went over and beyond my expectations. We were lost with who to go with for our snags and HouseScan came as a recommendation from our neighbour and honestly I am so happy that we did go with them. Cannot fault the service they provide.
