Superb service from start to finish. Extremely thorough report and highly useful after care service.

This company is amazing and has excellent customer service. Our inspector, Darren was thorough and described all the issues that he discovered with our new build property. I am also very pleased with the comprehensive report from the inspection which included photos with the issues being highlighted.

There was only a small issue with their server for the thermal imaging software (which was out of their control) that led to a delay in getting the report completed. They contacted us when the problem occurred and kept us posted. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has bought a new build property.

What a brilliant company! The booking process was easy and Harry was very accommodating. He arrived promptly, walked us through the house, then we went out for around 3 and a half hours.
He then talked us through what he had found and explained what was going to happen next. 3 days later we received our report. It was very clear and detailed with labelled photographs. Harry found a total of 242 snags, where as on our own we'd spotted around 20. So we'll worth the money! If you've bought a new build - get House Scan booked in ASAP!

Really happy with Harry and Housescan. They picked up a lot of snags in our new build house mostly minor things that we would have missed but also some important things. When purchasing a new build property you want it to be perfect and Housescan help pick up the bits to make it as best as possible. Well worth the money.

Easy to arrange during a stressful time. The survey and associated report are comprehensive and objective which makes snagging discussions with the developer significantly easier and identifies items I would not have the competence to identify on my own.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HouseScan to anyone buying a new build property. We were short on time to compile a comprehensive snagging list and whilst we had a fair few snags listed ourselves, Ian identified many more that we would have totally missed including exposed pipes in the loft that could freeze and the smoke alarm not working (despite an NHBC certificate). The developers had tried to tell us to 'save our money' and compile the list ourselves but we would not have picked up many of the issues that Ian did. We were unsure whether the items we had identified were us being fussy or if they were genuine and Ian talked through all of them in a fair way, explaining the standards that we should reasonably expect and sometimes even sticking up for the developer which was refreshing. I felt I could ask any daft question and know that I was getting an unbiased answer that I may have been more sceptical about had I asked the developer and received the same answer! When you consider the premium you pay for a new build and the cost of a homebuyers survey when you are purchasing a home that is not a new build, it is similar and money well spent in my opinion. Why should you just trust the developer as the same issues will come up when you come to sell the property and your future buyers have a homebuyers survey?

Fantastic service from start to finish. We were skeptical but after buying a new build before and picking up little bits over 4 years we wanted to get everything sorted in one go. HouseScan picked up at least 100 things we would never ever have picked up and the report was perfect. Do not buy a new build home without hiring these guys

We were skeptical at first because of the price. But one of our neighbours hired housescan so we thought we'd give it a go. We were blown away with level or service we received as well as the quality of the report. That's not to mention the after care and advise we got after. 60% of the snags picked up we would never have noticed or knew were actually an issue. now after a bit of pushing the builder is making good progress with the report.

I bought a new build home and didn't think I would need a housing inspector to check for snagging issues. However as soon as we moved in I noticed a few things and was glad they were coming. Ian from Housescan came to inspect the house and the attention to detail was immaculate! He has years of experience and it showed in his extremely thorough inspection! The number of issues with the house shot up from this review, even though my house is in very good nick!

When it comes to completing your snagging review, you recieve a thorough report with pictures to show the defects. It's really useful to have a professional report to give to your builders, as it gives clear documentation of issues that need to be resolved.

Also, getting a snagging inspector is expensive, but Housescan offer a reasonable price, and gave a good discount for a re-inspection to ensure that the work done by the builder is up to standards.

Overall a truly excellent service, couldn't recommend enough!

Just bought a new house and needed a snagging engineers report. Found Housescan Harry on the web and they had a few good reviews so I booked them. Excellent professional service, report issued within 2 days of the survey. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing service!
I have been having issues with my builders for nearly 2 years so thought I would get a professional in to check the house. Harry was fantastic - quick to answer any queries, flexible when booking the date of the inspection and so friendly as well. Received the report yesterday and he had found so many snags that I would never have seen as well as providing evidence that the issues the builders are currently refusing to fix are more serious.
Would recommend HouseScan to anyone, just wish I got this done when I first moved in!

The builder has taken the report very seriously and begun to rectify the problems identified. I found it extremely helpful to have a third party report to show the builder rather than rely on our own intuition and I think it had much more credibility with the builder as a result. The house builder tried to persuade me not to use a snagging company and I can now see why! Harry was brilliant - he arrived on time, was extremely knowledgable and the inspection was very thorough- he picked up things that I wouldn’t have even thought to check. If I’m honest, when I booked I thought the thermal imaging was a bit of a gimmick but I was wrong - in my case it revealed the windows were not fitted correctly which wasn’t visible. The report was turned around very quickly which was also a massive help! I would recommend HouseScan to anyone buying a new home- worth every penny!

I'm so glad I had a new-build from Bloor homes inspected by Harry. He did a fantastic job inspecting every part of the property and producing a very comprehensive report of all the issues at the end, which I'm using with the developer to resolve one by one.

Harry is very knowledgeable and is a really helpful person, giving some great advise on each of the snags and recommendations on addressing them.

I would certainly use again and recommend to anyone buying a new-build!
