Overall gym and equipment are great. I think what lets it down is the people who are using the gym. Plates are left on barbells, dumbbells just placed randomly and not in the correct spots.

Ventilation in the gym is nonexistent. Very stuffy & air conditioning is minimal.

Changing rooms closed from 12pm (midnight) to 5am. No other 24 hour gym has rules like this very odd. Especially as the bathrooms are in there.

On first day asked a member of staff about the parking situation. Staff member was disinterested & rude.

Had issues using my pin code & this still has not been resolved even after contacting support.

Slightly disappointed with the gym. Only signed up for 1 month & have already cancelled it after 3 days of using the gym.

Honestly disappointed. I used to go to JD when it first opened and was hands down the best gym in MK. Over the years the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the gym has been poor . I cancelled my membership about a year ago and have been exploring other gym options, but do to location, JD is what suits me best. However, after returning, I’m still disappointed to see the state of the gym. Equipment is dirty. Stair nosings have fallen off . Equipment laying around everywhere. Toilets are filthy . Everything just feels icky and gross .

I attended gym when it wasn’t even busy anround midday and there were several staff members around - yet the gym was left dirty. I even saw crumbs on the floor and wrappers .

Considering how new JD is , I really find it disappointing. Just simple things like spraying and wiping equipment clean once a day would make a massive difference. Ensuring the toilets are kept clean. Every time I go to the toilet it’s literally sprayed in shit or vomit or the sanitary bins are overflowing and there’s pads and tampons on the floor .

I just don’t think this is worth my money

Not complaining to make life difficult, just being honest and really think the small simple things go a long way .

Music is way too loud
No clear board with PT info
No workers around during peak hours
no wipes or sprays to clean down equipment
Women only area is under equipped

Leave and don’t come back! I joined back in 2022 in the hope that it would live up to the hype, which It didn’t! The showers stunk, machines are rubbish and always broke or not working and the parking is a nightmare!!! Left a review back in 2022 just to get the “thank you for your feedback” nonsenses! Tried it again in early 2026 in the hope changes had been made , just to be met with exactly the same issues! Dirty facilities, dusty machines, broken equipment and parking is still shocking!! So once again I am leaving and defo will not be giving you another chance! C YA!!

Lack of machines & equipments according to the no of crowd

I’ve been training in gyms for 38 years in MK, and in that time I’ve seen plenty of good and bad gyms, and those that began good and declined. JD in MK is a good gym. I can’t speak for the changing rooms because I don’t use them, but the equipment is good and varied and the classes look good and well used, but I don’t use them. But for pure lifting and training it’s a decent gym and contrary to some reviews, it’s not dirty and there are virtually never any machines out of action. However, it gets real busy during busy periods, like sold out concert at the bar busy. I’ve been training here for about 2 years now and never had any problems. The negatives are really only that it’s very busy during busy hours, the music is pants (so I wear headphones) and the night shift lifters often leave a mess (not the gyms fault). For 5* treatment it would need a served protein bar, and better music, and maybe a pool. But we can all dream.

WOULD PREFER EASIER ENTRIES AND EXITS BESIDES THE BARCODE/ QR CODE ENTRY SYSTEM

This gym is very unsafe Milton Keynes branch I went on holidays for few weeks when I came back at gym. I locked my cabinet in changing room when I came back padlocked is locked when I opened my things are disappeared my brand makeup was very expensive and head phone other stuff I found shampoo from staff room but not others stuff I ask jd manager he doesn’t care ignored me so be careful don’t bring expensive stuff in this gym

Probably because it was a Saturday, but the gym overall seems to be dirty, specially in the changing room, both toilets in male changing room were blocked, that’s really inconvenient

Good gym with plenty of space and equipment however I found an issue after 11:30pm some people are coming in to the gym without memberships and making the place feel unsafe. They will loiter around and talk loudly with eachother. They aren't dressed in appropriate gym attire nor have any desire to use the facilities. No staff around or security to check on these Individuals. I dont feel comfortable staying at the gym after 12 midnight due to this.

JD Gyms Milton Keynes ladies toilets have not had a consistent toilet paper supply in weeks! We’re having to come to the gym with our own toilet paper just in case there wasn’t any. This is unacceptable!

The classes that I have attended are fantastic and there is no booking system. I have never been to a gym where you can get into pump, combat or spin without booking and it's great.
At my first class the instructor (Stacey) came over and introduced herself. Her class was really energetic and fun and she made me feel so welcome.

I am deeply dissatisfied with the ongoing lack of cleanliness and maintenance at your gym. The hygiene standards have become unacceptable and appear to be consistently overlooked.

The toilets are frequently dirty, and today, there was no toilet paper available in any of them. Bins are often overflowing with sanitary products, which is both unhygienic and unpleasant for members. There is only one cleaning lady who often spends all her time either on the phone or sitting in the ladies' changing room with a relative. Half of the lockers are broken or permanently locked.

In addition, many machines are broken or unsafe to use. The stair masters(which I use each time), are extremely dirty—I often have to clean them myself before using them. Equipment is rarely checked or maintained; instead, staff place an “Out of Action” sign on machines.

The situation in the ladies’ showers is equally concerning. There are six showers in total, yet the cold shower has been out of action for at least three months, after previously being unavailable for six months last year. The second shower has very poor water flow, the third has been blocked and flooded for the past few days, and the last shower has had no functioning lock for at least six months.

As a paying member, I expect basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene. At present, the gym is failing on these.

I hope these issues will be addressed urgently, as members deserve a clean, safe, and properly maintained environment.
