Sales representative & finance people…

Sales representative & finance people were very courteous to deal with and not too pushy, Car was Pristine when handed over and the handover included detailed explanation of the main features of the car. Communication from purchase to handover was very good.

Abismal communication & unfulfilled promises.

Abismal communication & unfulfilled promises. Paid the deposit & waited 6weeks for a car that still wasnt ready for collection. I dont expect people to pull off miracles but the complete lack of communication lead to complete mistrust & ultimately I pulled out of the sale & got my deposit back. Never again!

Shane was fantastic to deal with

Shane was fantastic to deal with. This is the third car I've purchased from JPMG, and the experience has always been excellent. The 12-month warranty on the vehicle was a great bonus.

VW Tiguan

I recently purchased a VW Tiguan. The salesman told me that the mirrors would fold in automatically when the car was locked. Got home, locked the car, mirrors did not fold in. Called the salesman, said bring the car back and he would set it up. Went back to discover the mirrors are not automatic. Halfway home the oil light came on. Called again and had to turn around and take the car back. Since then everything seems to be fine. The only other issue I had was that the advertised price on the car itself and the price on the Johnson and Perrott web site had a difference of €1000. The cheaper price was on the website but instead of honoring it they deducted €400.

Dropped the car in for service, ad blue went low the next week. Customer service in cork branch was never the best

Excellent customer service and selection of used cars at great prices

I dealt with Dan to buy my car. Lovely fella to deal with and knows his stuff. Seamless process throughout. Excellent communication, the car was in showroom condition when I came to collect it. Dan was extremely helpful when it came to ordering an extra part from SEAT.
J&P have an excellent selection of second hand cars. Their selling approach was great. Followed up when the right type of cars came in but did not hound you.
The only downside would be for older cars you might not get the best trade in price (I sold mine privately), however their prices on second hand cars for sale are easily 1.5 to 4k cheaper than other showrooms. Highly recommend them.

I am really disappointed in the…

I am really disappointed in the customer service I have received. I agreed to purchase a car and paid the deposit on March 7th. I was first told it would be ready March 13th I rang and it wasn’t ready, then I was told March 14th still wasn’t ready and was told to contact again this week and it would possibly be today, called again today and you guessed it, car still isn’t ready, they have said it will be ready tomorrow, but they will have to forgive me if I have my doubts on this. I tried multiple times last week to get the account and payment details and it took 5 calls to finally get the details. I keep chasing for updates and most of my calls are getting declined. It has really ruined the experience of buying a car and took all the excitement out of it. I have no issue if the car takes time to get ready as I understand the mechanics may have taken annual leave with the bank holiday or that they may be waiting on a part to come in. It is just incredibly frustrating being told the car will be ready and then it consistently not being the case, especially when trying to sort the changeover of insurance, car payment etc. I shouldn’t have to keep chasing updates I feel like I should be kept informed on the car status. I took time off work to try and get the payment sorted when I was told the car would be ready on March 14th, when there was no need. It’s very inconsiderate of my time.

Additionally info: I received a call from JPMG regarding this review and they explained and apologised for the poor customer service I received, which was appreciated.

Hidden issues & Lack of Transparence. Do yourself a favour and avoid!!

Shane tried to sell me a car that hasn't had a valid NCT in 3 years without telling me and conveniently omitting that little nugget of info when I directly asked about the cars history as we were close to putting down the deposit.

I was looking at a 2018 Tiguan Comfortline as part of a clearance sale at Johnson and Perrott. When I asked about the service history and condition of the car, Shane assured me that everything was fine and went on to discuss the number of owners, mileage, and other details. However, he failed to mention that the car did not have a valid NCT, which had expired in January 2022.

This crucial detail was not shown on their website, and at no point did he disclose it when discussing the car’s history. That’s misleading and unacceptable. An expired NCT means the car has not been officially tested for roadworthiness, safety, etc in over two years (since 2021 at least).

The fact that this dealership puts cars up for sale before putting them through official NCTs is a MAJOR red flag.

An expired NCT could mean hidden mechanical issues, expensive repairs, and means the car isn’t legally drivable. In this case, the Tiguan they tried to sell me hasn’t been road legal for over three years! If I had gone through with the purchase, I would have had to wait months to schedule an NCT—and who knows if it would even pass?

This is a basic and essential requirement for any car being sold, and failing to mention it—especially when directly asked about the car’s history—is unacceptable.

I was very close to putting down a deposit after my discussion with Shane, but thankfully, we decided to sleep on it. The next day, I paid to download the full car history myself, and lo and behold, there was a glaring issue that Shane conveniently left out.

I wasn’t planning on writing this review, but the more I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt about it around how misleading and dishonest this was. If this review helps even one person avoid the mistake I nearly made, then it’s worth it.

A dealership should be upfront about major issues like an expired NCT, rather than leaving buyers to figure it out the hard way.

I would highly recommend avoiding this place—but if you do fall in love with a car they have, triple-check all details yourself and don’t rely on their verbal assurances.

Yes, we do sell vehicles that in some cases do not have a valid NCT certificate. That being said, on purchase we can push them through the NCT process quickly (usually in a matter of days not weeks) and we also add a 12 month warranty. This would be at our expense and would be done in advance of you collecting and paying for the car.

We are very sorry that you felt that we were attempting to keep this from you, please rest assured that this was not the case and we would not have taken monies from you and delivered a vehicle to you that was not safe, roadworthy or in anything but the best possible condition.

Happy throughout

Very friendly staff which explained the process of the order of the car. And when the car was ready to be picked up I got a thorough explanation of the features. And I even got lots of goodies.
Great experience throughout.

Best experience buying a new (second hand) car!

He even gave my kids 2 teddies when we came to pick up our car. It's the little things that matter and the bonus of a Hayfield Manor voucher made the experience feel like a Lotto win.

Extreme Delays

There was a very long delay with every aspect of the transaction, I waited 3 weeks for the car to be ready and then when it was ready there was still faults with the electrics and the handbrake. Now, over a month on from receiving the vehicle, I have still yet to receive so much as a receipt/invoice.
