I have a barn cat. She must be indoors at night to protect her from the coyotes. Sometimes I couldn't find her and she would come back well after dark. This device allows me to find her anywhere within about 400 feet. Once, when she was missing from the property, I drove around the streets with the loc8ter and found her a mile down the road stuck in a tree. The receiver pinpointed her position so I could see her with my flashlight. Not even a GPS can zero in on a spot with such precision. I use it several times a day to check her location and can rest easy knowing where she is at all times.
This device is indispensable and the modest price is more than worth it.

My wife and I have two very venturous felines - both girls, but - one more than the other enjoy 'pushing the limits of the proverbial envelope' and going further and further from home... The Loca8tor REALLY helps us out in these circumstances!

The first Loca8tor ('silver slide' version w/ hard to read LCD screen) crapped out after about 21 months and malfunctioned... We now have the newer - slimmer black unit with the LED lights which increase as one closes in on the cat. Only negative comment - would have been nice to have a 'break' on the full price as a result of the above and being a return customer!

Max gets to stay outside much longer now that he/we have the Cat Loc8tor. Morning is when he is most anxious to get outside. I let him out the back towards the woods for a couple hours, then locate him quickly with the Loc8tor when I want to bring him in. While he's outside, I occasionally check to make sure he's not at the neighbors across the street (bird lovers) by simply waving the Loc8tor at their house. If he's there, I'll find him and bring him back in our house. He's catching on that he needs to avoid that yard! I let him out late afternoons as well. With the Loc8tor I trust that I'll always be able to find him. So, he's outside on his own much longer. And when he's inside, he's a happier, much quieter kitty.

I lost my 1st locator within minutes, as the fastening opens to easily Apart from that the 2nd 1 works ok, but takes some getting used too!

Despite a few set up issues (that were resolved by a quick call) the device has proven to be invaluable in providing the comfort we needed whilst my dog was being transported from the UK to Spain. The technology works and is easy to use. For peace of mind I would recommend this device to anyone.

So far I haven't had a cat go missing but one cat decided to slip out of his collar and leave it in the woods. It took a lot of hiking to get within range of the lost collar but once I got that first beep, I had no trouble tracking it down. I feel much better letting our cats go out and play knowing if can find them if they get into trouble.

Good and works but is let down by the cheep feeling handset. I must say it works fine but feels cheep.

I bought this loc8tor plus as my kitten got lost for two days but did eventually come home safely but after a couple of sleepless nights and pounding the streets leafleting for me! It's fine so long as they don't lose the collar it's attached to but that applies to any such device. However it also only has a 600 ft range which for cats is really not sufficient unless you know where to look for them. So I bought a GPS tracker which showed me over a period of a couple of weeks her usual haunts - not a real time one but one which stores the data for later download and then replaced the loc8tor. She hasn't got lost since but at least if she does I know where to start looking from the GPS tracker and hopefully the loc8tor will do the rest- it could do with a much longer range for cats though as they travel further than you think!!

We bought the Loc8tor to use for our two 9 year old cats after we moved into a house with a garden. They have nearly always been house cats and I was so worried about them getting lost. One cat managed to escape over the fence on the first weekend before we got the Loc8tor and it was so worrying even though he was close by. Now, I can rest in peace inside knowing that whereever the explorer cat is we will be able to do a quick search and find him. Great little device.

I love the ability to track my cats and get them in at night if they don't come in before dark by themselves. The batteries in the loc8tor don't last long, and I had a problem with one of the tags so I ordered a new set to give me replacements. I don't know how long it will last....if it's ever updated to a more durable and battery friendly system I'll buy one again.

Locator is great, especially for cats who are not used being outdoors.

As a new cat owner I was worried about letting him out in the fear he may get lost.

Then I disovered Loc8tor, since it came in the post and I got it on to my cats collar I let him out whenever he wants.

If I need to check his where abouts I just user my Loc8tor. As a bonus, if my cat is hiding in the house and I can't find him, that's no problem now.

I highly recommend the Loc8tor.

I would recommend this item to others but...its very expensive, there is no warning that the batteries are going dead, and the rubber covers should be included, not something to order later when you realize you need them.

Bought the 4-tag kit for peace of mind with our 3 cats after a house (and country) relocation. In truth, we were half-expecting to try it for a while then shove it in a drawer and forget it - the usual disappointing gadget experience.

But it works. And we use it most days. We have a lot of hedgerows and woods and old farm buildings around us. It's almost impossible to find the cats visually, but with this thing we can locate any errant kitty within a minute or so. Occasionally we've had one go out of range, but even then I've found that using the tracker from an upstairs window does the trick.

We're mostly only using the tracker in the evening when we want the cats to come inside for supper (and evening curfew). The big bonus is that when you select a particular collar tag to track, the tag itself beeps regularly. The cats are already getting so used to the routine that when the collar starts beeping on them they head for home.

That tags are also very small and light. None of our 3 seem bothered by them in the least.

Loc8tor is a brilliant, affordable device which brings huge peace of mind.

Didn't find this helpfull have ended up takin it off her collat. My cat likes to wander and have been every where trying to find her with this but it does nothing. They say it works upto 400feet in clear sight but I've found with mine it only works ten feet or so. Don't recommend this product at all was a waste of money for me.

Loc8tor works exactly as advertised. I can recommend it!

Purchased the mini Loc8tor to put on my cats collar as she started out as an indoor cat but her desire to go outdoors had her dashing out the door no matter how careful we were. After one night of chasing her around our neighborhood for 4 hours trying to catch her, I went on line in search of some thing to help me - I found the Loc8ator which has been invaluable to me ever since. Not only do I used it to get a read on her when she's out or to find her if I need to get her in, I use it in the house so I can find where she is and put her in a save spot when we bring our dog into the house. I love my Loc8tor, it gives my cat the freedom she wants and me the piece of mind that I need!

I appreciate the time saved out of my day by using the tags. I have 5 cats and 3 hide. They only go out in the garden supervised...but hide. No more...

Had doubts about these before I put the into use on my two cats. Everything worked as per the online promises and as the instructions on delivery. Cats both took to it after a few days and soon realised when it was mealtimes with a quick switch on/off of the controller.
Unfortunately have had to buy a replacement as one cat pulled his collar off with loc8tor attached and in a completely innaccesable area!! That was almost 2 months ago and can still get a signal from lost collar.
Would recommend loc8tor to all pet owners.

These have been really useful in tracking down our cats when we want them to come in or even locating them in the house when they're hidden away somewhere. We feel much more confident letting them out with their Loc8tors on and don't have the worry that they will get trapped in someone's shed or garage. Would be even better if the system had a longer range - as our cats get bolder at going out they are travelling further afield. However, aside from that, the whole system is really well thought through and designed. Impressive.

Transaction itself was very quick and easy and the Loc8tor devices are a godsend, have helped me find my wandering cat (or his lost collar!) many times :-)
