Absolutely abhorrent behaviour. Called these amongst a bunch of others to enquire for a friend. Had yet to receive a postcode so the guy said call back when I had it. In this time another, cheaper loc... See more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Marketing themselves as "affordable locksmiths" Wasn't even a lockout just a dysfunctional door knob from within the flat...charged 250 +20% VAT for a callout so total of 300!! For something that took not even 10 mins to fix. This price was not even mentioned to me when I called...he just casually dropped this as he was fixing the knob and said he couldn't do anything because he just worked for the company. THIS PRICE IS ABSURD AND BASED ON ALL THESE REVIEWS THEY APPEAR TO USE THE SAME TACTIC.
Total scam
Total scam artists. My tenant's kids were locked out.
Under those circumstances it is clear these guys exploited the situation and charged almost £700 pounds as the tenant was not in a position to argue. It wasn't even late night just around 5pm. There has been no response to the complaint letter or calls. I called a few other locksmiths who confirmed there was no way this price could be even remotely justified, even if it was 3am it would be less than £300.
This happened to me previously with another company who refunded the excess charged, i will happily re-write this review in the event the same happens here.
Not a good company
Locked myself out like an idiot, phoned these guys as they were the first on the list when I looked up for a locksmith near me. Call centre on the phone said they'd be 45 minutes until they got to me. In the end it was 1 hour and 10 minutes. They wanted 298.80 for what was quite literally a 1 minute job. I'm grateful to get back into my flat but my god that is a lot of money, do not listen to the 5 star reviews they've obviously been bought out or botted. The actual locksmith was a nice person, but the charge rate is unexceptable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Final amount was three times what was quoted!
Charged £50 call out, £180 to drill the lock, Lock with keys £220 and £49 'labour'. Did not give up front quote. DO NOT USE.
Rip off and scam
Just like everyone else. Got locked out. They came quickly. Drilled thru. Installed new lock. Charged 550 for a regular front door lock. Lesson learned. Dont use this company unless u want to give your hard earned money away to scammer.
Funnily enough, I then messaged them on WhatsApp saying a locksmith tried to charge me 550 and they said it can be done for 250. When i then called them out they blocked me. Ha.
ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL SCAM DO NOT USE
Unfortunately my housemate and I got locked out of our flat. We needed to call a locksmith service so we did a google search and found Local Locksmith 247. When we called I asked for a quote to which they said £45 to get the door open. We agreed to this price. Upon their arrival, the two guys who turned up, one was called Vladimir, looked at the lock and Instantly said they would need to drill the lock and replace it. They told me at this point that the price would have to go up to £189 plus VAT. We said that was okay as they would be replacing the lock. We left them to work and when I checked on them they told me they now needed to fit a high security lock as the basic one we discussed earlier was not a viable option. I asked them why, and couldn't give me a straight answer. They refused to fit the basic lock. They told me this would up the price to £285 plus VAT. Again we agreed to this price as they made us feel we had no other option. They were growing increasingly intimidating and threatening to leave us with no lock if we didn't agree. When they finished Vladimir handed me the invoice which totalled at £873. This completely shocked me as never at any point had a number that large been told to us. When I looked over the invoice I noticed that all the prices he had told me previously were separate, but he had lead me to believe that there were the total not individual charges. Additionally, there were a few charges they had not disclosed. They charged for the lock removal separately to the drilling which was an extra £40. They also added a callout charge, and labour charge they did not give us details about. We simply told them that we didn't have that kind of money and we weren't sure what to do. At this point they became intimidating, and threatened to remove the lock and leave us without one. We couldn't do that as we feel very unsafe in our area. Eventually we had to call around and ask people to borrow money, and they didn't give us any privacy to do this. They stood over us and waited for us to get the money. After they left we noticed that the lock is ill fitting, and the door is slightly damaged. This morning I went online to see if anyone had left any reviews about them. I have found several accounts of this company exhibiting aggressive and threatening behavior to take advantage of people in a vulnerable way. I also feel that they saw us as two naive girls in their 20s and thought they could use that to extort us.
Just generally a terrible experience. Avoid at all costs! Have reported to trading standards, Ombudsman and to the Police.
SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS. Under no circumstances use this company. Having a broken lock is an incredibly vulnerable position to be in. I called them out as my key was stuck in the door. They arrived within 30 minutes (that was the only positive). I was told the lock needed changing. He offered me a new lock at £1700 at this point alarm bells did start going off in my head, but you feel so vunerable when a lock is broken and you just want it to be fixed. I explained I was not looking to spend that amount of money and he said he had a reasonable lock at £300. I had no choice but to have the lock changed as we rent the property and I could not leave it with the door unlocked. The next day I visited with the gentleman who looks after the flat. I let us both in with one of the new keys. When I left the property I pulled the door to and then tried to open with the other new keys but the door would not open. I called the locksmith and he said it was my fault and that I must have double locked it from the inside??? He immediately went on the defence and said again that I had made a mistake and if he was to come out and take a look he would have to charge me. The main phone operator who booked the job was even worse. I am a 65 year old female and I have never, ever been spoken to in the way this man spoke to me. He talked over me, was incredibly rude offered no customer service whatsoever and kept repeating that it was my fault. I really want this company to be investigated as it should not be allowed to carry on. If anyone can offer advice I will be truly grateful. I understand if you make a complaint to Citizens Advice Consumer helpline they will make contact with Trading Standards on your behalf.
Scammers
Scammers. Interesting that they have a sponsored ad on Google - but no reviews! So, perfect to suck you in when you desperately need your door opened. They arrive, announce that your lock can't be opened and has to be drilled out. Then they replace it with a cheap lock. All of this comes to a ridiculously large amount of money. £200 for the callout plus drilling your lock is bad enough, then a huge amount for the new lock (that you could get at Homebase for £20 max) and £70 for installing it (10 mins work). So avoid at all costs.
Avoid at All Costs: Nightmare Experience with Scam, Terrible Service, and No Communication
My experience with this service was nothing short of a nightmare. The level of professionalism was abysmal, and I felt like I was dealing with a bunch of scammers. It seemed like they were trying to extort money from me at every turn, and I couldn't believe the audacity of their actions.
I had to use their service (found through Google) as we got locked out, and my key broke in the lock. To be fair, the locksmith arrived promptly in 20 minutes. I asked for the fragment to be extracted as I had a spare key, but the locksmith chose to drill it instead with many excuses.
It took him 10 minutes to do the job, and I was charged a staggering £300 for it.
In addition, there was no clear communication throughout the entire process. I was left in the dark about important details, and it was nearly impossible to get a straight answer from anyone involved. This lack of transparency only added to my frustration and confusion.
Furthermore, when I phoned to complain, they simply hung up on me, leaving me feeling helpless and even more frustrated.
Overall, I would strongly advise against using this service. It was a terrible experience filled with scummy practices, extortion attempts, bad service, and a complete lack of clear communication. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a more reputable and reliable option.

local locksmiths 247 scammers
local locksmiths 247 (and other similar websites), are all run by criminals and will intimidate you and scam you out of £1000's!
I called the number on the website after my door jammed, a guy turns up 45 mins later and quotes £269 to open door, drill and replace lock.
At the end he gives an invoice for over £2600, all the time claiming that it's expensive because it’s a high security lock and that he has to change all the mechanisms (which he actually didn’t), then telling me not to worry because insurance will pay out, (they most likely won't).
This is a well-practiced scam/con, they know exactly what to say and how to get you to the point, where you’re forced to pay out x10 the usual price.
I complained of course, said it was unreasonable and way too expensive, offered to pay 50%. I don’t like confrontations, and I wish I had held my ground and called 999, but I was also afraid what they might do if I did because he was watching me constantly following me around inside my house.
For 20mins I tried to negotiate and felt intimidated because he refused to leave my home (he had now come into my office room), furthermore, there was another man in his car waiting the whole time, who had threatened our neighbour, a 90yo man who ask them to move their car because it was blocking his driveway; that man’s family has since reported that incident to the police.
In the end, because they refused to leave, I was extorted & forced to pay using a bank transfer, and he was taking pictures of me while I was doing it.
Their names and company info are probably fake, Jim or Adam, UK Top Notch Services.
Avoid the following:
Men that arrive in a white BMW (3 or 4 series)
These are the phone numbers they used:
07523 633723, 07475 274614
Don’t call the number on the website locallocksmiths24.co.uk or similar sites.
Look for a MLA approved locksmith and be sure to read reviews, even when it’s an emergency.
They pay to promote these scam websites and there are many, so they come top of google searches!
If you’re being scammed call the police, I wish I did, dial and keep phone in pocket or out of their sight, stall them until the police arrive.
I hope the police investigate, there must be a load of crime reports on these scammers.

SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE
I was told I would need new gearbox for mechanism and quoted £375 plus VAT. They would not give me a written quote. I rang a company local to me who came out and fixed it, it was just an alignment issue, no need for replacement parts which actually would have only cost £136 plus VAT had the other company needed to this. Please beware of this company.
