Whoever runs this company should be ARRESTED!!!! I bought a $50 prepaid gift card at Target issued by MetaBank. Attempted to use the card and it wouldn't work. Got onto their website and said there was an issue with the card. I called the customer service number, waited on hold for over an hour, they admitted the issue, said they'd send me another card and it would arrive in 7 to 10 days. Waited 2 months and nothing ever showed up. Called them again, waited on hold over an hour again, told them what happened, they had a record of my address on file and said they would send a new card out once again. It's been 4 months since then and I've never received anything. I looked online and this seems to be a common practice with MetaBank taking people's money, not loading the customers card, making it extremely difficult to reach them, falsely stating that they'll resolve the issue until you get tired of chasing your money. I'm not giving up though. You ripped me off for $50 and hours of my time trying to get my money back. This is unethical and someone should be in jail for this blatant scam. Give me my money back!

I love NetSpend I have never had a problem with them they call or text me if they see something suspicious going on

Terrible gift card, a purches Station, June $100 gift card for my brothers birthday and it has no money on it when he went to use it. It’s a zero balance I don’t know why target continues to sell this card and I don’t know how this company still in business with all the complaints that they have. I am going to the Better Business Bureau.

I used my reward points to get a $25 Visa card, the first one they kept telling me it would take 3-5 days to get into their system. And of course you always get someone from a foreign country that you can barely understand. The third I tried to get it authorized they just cancelled the whole thing. So I contacted the place who I got the reward card from and they issued me a new card. It expires in 9/24. I tried today as soon as I got it in the mail and was told by the online activation website that the card is expired! What a scam this company/bank is! I guess I'll have to be getting a hold of my attorney general and their states attorney general. Never do any kind of business with these people

A friend of ours gave us a $200 VISA gift card. When we went to use it we found the funds had already been used (fraudulently) by someone on the west coast. When I contacted MetaBank, they opened a "case" and told me they would get back to me. Several months later I was notified that after their "investigation" they were unable to approve my dispute and the case was closed. Not sure what kind of investigation was undertaken because obviously the card had been compromised. Such a shame because here a friend spends his hard-earned money on a gift card and he might as well have set the money on fire. Terrible business practices and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

This bank is a scam they let people open an account under other people name and they steal your money and don’t want to give you back your money someone opened an account under my name in Texas and I live in Florida I never heard of this bank until I lost money money called them and they said don’t worry you will get your money the people can’t speak English properly and they told me in a month I’ll get a reply call them back after a month and they say i have to wait another month this bank is a BIG SCAM somebody needs to do something about this bank

Another foreign ran online bank controlling American money. My wallet was stolen so I cancelled my card to order a replacement and they put me under investigation while they held 897.00 dollars of mine for over 4 months. I had to get legel help to get my money back all because my wallet was stolen. Could not even understand them while talking to them on the phone, all of them are foreign and some can't even speak English. Yet they are controlling people's money. This country has really turned into a foreign cesspool. No wonder there is so much violence going on in this country today. 50% of the people in this country were not born here. To those true Americans that tried to serve this country, God Bless You.

They are horrible. Purchased prepaid gift card that was hacked and used by someone else before we could activate card.

Called for refund but they wanted all our personal information which was never provided when purchasing card at Target. They wanted driver's license, DOB, address. I didn't want to provide personal info since they can't seem to protect the cards they issue. Stay away from prepaid gift cards.

I used to not have problems when I bought this prepaid debit geft card before and the last two purchases I made with the card it really failed big time I do not think I will ever use this gift card again and I recommend other people not to use it either and if I do decide to use it ever again there is security issues with it that really needs to be fixed and this type of card was giving me problems with errors and also when I was trying to purchase on eBay and this is the first time I've ever had a problem with a car like that using the Meta Bank type of prepaid debit gift card that's all what I have to say.

Their debit cards are a pain in the ass to use, wait 24 hours,seems like 90% of the time MetaBank tries to block you from making any sort of purchase in store or especially online

I have three times now boughten gift cards that are visa from Target . Each time something has happened to the card preventing use without calling customer support and waiting for brand new card . Each time was either fraud right after activating or simply it stating zero balance .

Something is going on with your business . I have posted the address for this target that I have purchased the gift cards at . Also if you put my name in at least 2/3 cards I’ve had to call about.

We are elderly and disabled andy mother who is 91 sent us a gift card for gas so we could go to our doctor appointments. We stopped at a Shell gas station and the statons pump put a pending hold on the entire card. We were almost on E to begin with and we both just had a procedure done. We can't even use the card now for 7 to 14 days and they may put the money back on the card. We now cannot make our doctors appointment and go to the store to get my medications.

I won't go back to my mother to ask for more as she is also frail and do not want to upset or worry her.

Eay to go Meta Bank on being abusive to the elderly and disabled! POS company! We reached out to Visa and Meta both and neither one of them will help us.
I am considering going to the media to at minimum to let them know how a corporation is abusing an elderly/disabled couple by not cancelling the card sending out a new one so we can get gas to go to our doctor appointments and store for mediccations. By the way, my spouse just had open heart surgery three weeks ago so medications are necessary to ensure the heart continues to heal, pain management doctors, promary, cardiologist, etc.

People ask us what gift cards to use when they send us things to help us and we have told them to go with your service cards. We will NEVER use a card from Meta again! Metaeven deserve a one star. Their reps and supervisors are absolulutely worthless and you can barely understand them, shock there!

My account was hacked through Facebook and meta pay. I called everyday for two weeks straight. Everytime I called l was told I would get a new card In the mail. As soon as I hung up the new card was hacked before I received it. This happened several times. Finally NETSPEND/META BANK closed my account. Then they said it would be under investigation for 90days. The total amount was $535.00. I have yet to receive my money or any help.

SCAM!! If I could give zero stars I would! Card shows invalid number and bank says there is no record of this card number. They won't do anything to help, basically my problem to resolve. They'll just take your money. They should not be in business!

My minor son went with a friend and his family to a sporting event with Cash I had given him for food. He was told the facility was a no cash establishment and he had to purchase a Metabank debit card. He did and that night when he brought the card home I checked the balance out of 40 he had spent 8+14. The balance the 1800 line told me was availabe on the card was 16.29. I tried to use the card and it was declined. I called to see how I could use the balance only to learn that the card was now at a 0 balance. The customer service person told me there was nothing she could do because I had a pending transaction. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor which took several attempts to contact told me I had to go to the merchant that the card was declined at and get a letter on letterhead that they weren't going to try to rerun the card before they could refund the money. I said the card was declined by you and you see that. He said you will get the money back in 30 days! He also told me instead of sending my son to a game I should have taken the time to take him instead of forcing him to put his money on a card he should have been able to use my credit card. Several other ridiculous comments were made which led me to lose my cool. This suoervisor #2001 was extremely unprofessional and rude. I should be able to use my money now. Yet I have no choice but to hope I can get it in 30 days. The supervisor even told me this is less than 50 and acted like it was chump change and yes it's only 16.29 but it's my money! This company is ripping people off. My child didn't know better and was forced to get this card because he couldn't use cash for food. So they get to keep the cash not used at the event. I'm beyond angry. They should be ashamed of themselves.

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM THIS COMPANY.
I was given a gift card in August. Tried to use it in February and it was declined. The funds had been added/removed/added/removed all in the same day in August. I called, completed the necessary paper work, waited 45 days and was told my claim was approved and a new card would be issued. I am still waiting for the replacement car. The new lie is "it's in the mail". This company is a complete scam.

This company is a scam. They are USING Target who seems not to care about its customers when selling this "thieving" company to enrich themselves. I have made numerous complaints to Target and no complaint has taken hold. Target customer service said, "There is nothing we can do about it". What a terrible response this is. I will never purchase a "non-Target" anything again. I am thinking about going to a competitor to make all my purchases of ANYTHING!!!!

I could give this company ZERO stars if I could… It is insane to me that the IRS worked with this company to issue out the stimulus cards. I tried to claim my recovery rebate on my 2021 taxes but oh, I already received my third payment! After telling them that I had never gotten it, they sent me to meta-bank after maybe four months of going back and forth, and I’m STILL trying to get a hold of someone. It’s eight months later. Haven’t been able to talk to a live human on the phone to talk to get a replacement card. I’ve called and used the automated system to re-issue a new card and it’s been months since I’ve received anything. The IRS doesn’t know anything. Money network doesn’t know anything. Can’t talk to anybody at meta-bank EVER. But the IRS has no problem collecting right? THIS IS BULL

Hate this company already. Was given a gift card for my birthday and when I finally went to use it a few weeks later it was declined. Turns out the balance had been used. How is that possible if I just opened it? Nobody answers the customer number hotline and just leaves you on hold for endless amount of time. MetaBank is a total scam.
