It’s a fraud!!! My 89 year old mom bought me a birthday gift card and is on a limited income. When I went to use the card … depleted. I filed A dispute and called 8 times with people giving me the run around. No resolution. It’s a fraud!

I recently) (03/15/23) bought 2 Visa Gift Cards at Target, issued by MetaBank. One for $200.00 and the other $100.00. I went to MetaBank's MyBalanceNow.com on 03/17/23 to set up a 4 digit code before giving the cards to my grandchildren. I was shocked to see that the unused cards had balances of $74.00 on the $200 card and $2.23 on the $100 card. In addition, the $200 card was "ON HOLD" with instructions to call. In the last 3 days I have made 8 calls. Each time I was on the phone for 20+ minutes listening to repeated apologies and "an assistant will be with you soon." After 20+ minutes the call went silent each time. MetaBank is a total scam.

Apparently a bogus bank. They are in the shady business of draining all the funds you put on one of their gift cards. Customer service tries to get more of your personal information upon calling them to complain. Refusing to give them the additional personal information leads to being put on hold again and put in the endless loop of prompts. Don’t ever purchase a card with METABANK or BLACKHAWK network printed on the back of the card!

They took 500 dollars of my federal return saying it was for tax preparer fee also another 300 saying it was for other fees this is ridiculous if I had known all of this I would have never went with them.

Meta Bank gift cards, a scam? I failed to register the card online. Calling Meta customer service is another story. They want copy of my driving license faxed to them along with some other personal information which I am not comfortable giving out to strangers. I have been receiving and using gift cards for several years without any issues.

I have a MetaBank Debit Card, most often when I tried to use it the card is not recognized or it is declined. When I called their customer service line the told me that it was because of the low card balance. I should have had about $50.00 on the card but they said I only had $3.57. They had been charging me 4.95 per month for inactivity even when I had been trying to use the card and the card was being declined. I had the card replaced twice because it was not being accepted because it was not working. I ask them to send me a check for the balance before I had the card replaced the first time, they told me that they could not do that.
I ask them to refund the $4.95 fees that they had charged me, they would not do that.
If you have one of their cards use the balance on the card as quick as possible!!!

Good grief, it's nearly impossible to get a real human customer service rep on the phone. If you're patient enough to wait almost an hour on hold to get someone in person, they will again put you on hold to "file a dispute." I've been on hold the second time for over 20 minutes now and no one has come back to the phone. What a joke. Tried to use their supposed "check my gift card balance" website to see why a never-used gift card is showing a zero balance and the website says they don't recognize the card. Yes, the numbers were entered right! This bank is a joke.

bought prepaid visa card from target with issuer MetaBank. Funds were depleted off card before its first use. customer service does not answer phone. Beware!! Fraud abounds. Target said card issuer is the responsible party. Card issuer can not be reached.

What went right with this card would be easier to answer, nothing. I would rather just flush my money down the toilet and avoid all the frustration of dealing with their customer service department.

Avoid this "bank" and by extension its operations, namely the prepaid cards at Walgreens, that are useless because this "bank" is a fraudulent.

Been with them since 2017 and I've had it!!!! Unexplained unauthorized merchants taking money out my account and no follow up about the investigation! Rude customer service! Their servers is not protected enough! Had to close down many debit cards I'm done! Withdraw all my money today and change my direct deposit to another financial institution!

I would rate a zero if I could. My 81 year old mother bought the card 3 months ago with 150 dollars on it. When we activated it for her, it only had 80 dollars. They told us that she had attempted to active the card (which my mom did not know how to do). The costomer service person would not help and kept giving some bull crap about the fees she owes. This is a huge scam and do not use it.

These shiteater thrives stole my money/ I'd theater me " live by thier own customer service supervisor " Ava" then. !!
SHE HUNG UP ON ME???? THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT.

I don't know what's been going on with my bank lately I've been banking with MetaBank NetSpend for over 2 years I have to change my email for personal reasons and phone number I call update all my information and now I can not only login to my account but I called to check my balance and I can't even get my pending on my transactions that are posted!?

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. AS A FAMILY OF 8, WE HAVE RECEIVED MANY GIFT CARDS PURCHASED FROM THIS COMPANY AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN DEPLETED BY UNAUTHORIZED USAGE AS SOON AS THE CARD GETS ACTIVATED AND LEFT US WITH $0 BALANCE. WE NEED TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AS THIS IS NOT RIGHT THAT THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS AND THEN NO HUMAN CAN BE CONTACTED AND WE NEVER SEE THE MONEY AGAIN!

This company is the entity that issued the economic impact cards ( stimulus payments) they sent mine to address I no longer lived at. Now about 2 yrs later I have been able to verify that they still have the funds, but they can't change address they're mailed to, can't direct deposit into my checking acct. And did not put back in IRS account. When I filed taxes trying to apply the tax credit so that I could recieve the payments IRS did not give me the tax credits because they believed I had recieved the payments that is $3200.00 has anyone else had this problem if 100,000 people had this happen that's 320,000.00 that is collecting interest that they're pocketing plus the funds themselves that they were likely to just keep! Not cool

This bank used my son’s information “under age child” to create a account WITHOUT my permission and they send the card to active it, when I call the bank I was told that the account was not created but in the letter show the bank account and routing number. This is a sign that they can do fraud and take any information without permission or verification.

This is FRAUD OPERATION. I bought a gift card and it was stolen immediately
They admitted it was hacked and they never did anything about it .
Spoke to 4 people . Rude; incompetent and they will steal your money!!!

I have accounts one with $500.00 and the other one $3,445.00. I go to pay for my car repair $708.00 and it declined. Since yesterday 8:29/22 I have spoken with 16 different customer service reps including fraud department they asked me to send documents such as my driver's license my social security number card and also my car registration I sent those items into them and then when I got back to them over the phone they told me that funds will be released within 6 hours with those 6 hours has came in my funds have not been released I called them back up again and spent one hour and 45 minutes on hold listening to that terrible music I really think these people are ripping us all off I really do I think we should get a class action lawsuit together but who wants to take the lead I don't know the first thing and organizing a situation of this magnitude I really do think they're ripping us off so if anybody wants to take the lead please. There are way too many complaints with people not being able to get to their funds I've been looking at the stars and they're all just one star why is that that's because this company is ripping us off who wants to take the league please someone help us all thank you

Horrible banking experience. They allowed someone to scam me then denied my claim! Even though I have s police report, and proof. SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
