MetaBank 

These prepaid card were all the same. Fees were to high. Totally a scam. I still have 123 in my account and they close it but they never return back to me my money. I ask the customer service what happen and he cant tell what happen. They only want to close my account for no reason at all.. they were sucks.

I received a Visa giftcard a number of years ago from a former co-worker through gift card mall. I had used a portion of the card and there was still a balance left available. The card was not set to expire until the end of May 2019. I went to use the card last month (April) and the card was declined. I tried to check the balance online and got a message that there was a problem with the card. I called gift card mall customer service and the representative proceeded to tell me that "the state took your money" because I hadn't used my card in awhile (even though the expiration date was May 2019) and I needed to call them in order to recover the funds. So.... I called the state only to be informed (as I assumed) that the state did not take the funds, they were turned over by the gift card company..... So.... back to gift card mall customer service only for them to tell me that now I had to call the MetaBank b/c they issued the card and talk to them... The runaround is ridiculous! I spoke to a girl at the bank who asked for a bunch of different numbers on the card, and was supposed to call me back to let me know what could be done but she never called back. I called them back only to speak to an incredibly rude gentleman who then informed me that I needed to fill out some form and mail it in in order to file a claim with them... and he told me that if it was him he would have just written it off and let it go.... seriously? After this incident I would never recommend gift card mall or MetaBank! Get a Visa gift card locally or through your bank instead! So disappointing!
