MoneyJar is robbing me

I already did one review but I felt obligated to do a second one. My account was blocked two months ago, I sent countless emails asking for a reason but got no response. I spent weeks trying to send a proof of address because they simply were not accepting my bank statement, saying that the addresses did not match, although the only difference between the two addresses was that the EirCode was not displayed in one of them. I had to write an email with a link from EirCode Finder attached explaining with details how they could verify if the addresses matched because instead of doing some work all they did was compare two images. After weeks my documents were accepted but it didn't mean I could have my money back. And even though my account has been blocked for the past two months, they still deducted the monthly fee from me two times!! I can't use my money for an unknown reason, but they can. I hope people can understand how serious this is. I'm paying for a service that I'm not using, I feel like I'm being robbed and can't do anything about it. Members of my family are also being affected, we're going crazy with this nonsense. My mother had to borrow money to pay rent and buy food, she almost got kicked out for this and living in Dublin with this accommodation crisis it would be a complicated situation. All they do is say that they are terribly sorry for the inconvenience, not action taken. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. I really hope that someone goes to jail because of this for some good years. If MoneyJar is charging me for a service I should at least be able to use it. I hate this bank and all it's staff with all my heart, you people put my family in a complicated situation and I'll never forgive you. Bunch of THIEVES.

I do not recommend this app They stole € my money. I have been sending emails for two months and they don't give me a solution. Purchases with my debit card appear in Greece. I have never been to Greece a company refunded me money and moneyjar says that the transfer has not reached my account WHAT HAPPENED WITH THIS BANK????????????? I demand a refund of my money, it is easy for me to earn the money

Avoid at all costs, could steal your money

I was a customer for 2 years and in the beginning the service was working as expected. However, over the last 6-9 months things have gotten progressively worse.

Account limits silently changed, resulting in payments into the account failing without ever letting customers know.

The app became slower and slower, at times not working at all. Even trying to get statements stopped working to the point where I'd need to contact customer support only to receive an answer 3 days later.

At the same time, transfers to non-MoneyJar accounts that were once almost instant, would start taking days to go through.

The worst came when my card was going to expire and MoneyJar ensured they'd send a new card in time. However, two weeks out I got in touch to say the card hadn't arrived yet, only to have customer service say to be patient it will arrive. It never did, and to top it off my account was locked for outgoing transfers as well. It had been locked for 14 days before customer service allowed me to access my money again.. and yet still no card. They stated they "couldn't provide tracking details" or provide details as to why my account was not able to make outgoing transfers.

In those 14 days I had 0 access to any money, all my payments failed and I couldn't pay rent. Customer service representatives repeated the same "we're looking into the matter, sorry for the inconvenience" as if they were AI bots. Absolutely despicable behaviour. As soon as my account was unlocked I moved all my money to a new bank and closed my MoneyJar. Worst and most stressful experience I've had.

Wouldn't recommend it for anyone - avoid at all costs.

EDIT: Since posting this review and MoneyJar's comment below, they have been in touch with me to ask what they could do to have me change my review. No compensation was offered unless I supply concrete proof of hardship. They still want me to change or remove my review though... Avoid at all costs!

Bank Money Jar simply blocked my account overnight with all my money inside and they don't want to give me my money back and it's been 1 month since I've had to survive charity because they locked all my money. MY MONEY WAS STOLEN

Hello, I did a transfer of 809€ and it has not been transferred to the other account. What is happening? Is this a scam? I will make a complaint in the justice about this. I have family, I have people who need me and this money to survive, I need to pay my rent. What is happening with my money? I am a customer in Money Jar. However, the customer service is the worst around the world.

I got a transaction that I didn’t do. I did the dispute in order to receive my refund. But, I waited the answer for Money Jar during 3 months and 15 days, and they only said to me that I need to do the refund with the merchant, because they cannot do it

MoneyJar is a financial scam. Run!

I believe MoneyJar to be an elaborate financial scam exploiting pitfalls of our legal system to rob ordinary customers. They promote themselves as a user-friendly, easy to setup and trustworthy Irish banking app. However, my recent experience has proven the exact opposite! My monthly salary failed to be deposited into my account, and upon reaching out to their support team, I was informed that my account had been suspended without any prior notice. Moreover, they were unable to provide a valid reason for this suspension. To make matters worse, I am currently unable to withdraw the funds that I had already deposited!

Upon further inquiry, they directed me to contact their financial provider. After doing so, I was informed that the issue was due to 'unsatisfactory documentation'. This is perplexing because a month prior, the MoneyJar app had requested me to update my passport details twice, which I complied with both times immediately as instructed. I even received a confirmation notification, which I have screenshot evidence of, stating that everything was in order.

This leads me to believe that there was a failure on MoneyJar's part in communicating the updated information to their financial provider. I have filed a complaint via FSPO, however given the gravity of the situation, where access to personal funds is unjustly restricted, I think it is imperative for us, as customers, to unite and consider a class action lawsuit against MoneyJar. Their practices are unacceptable and must be challenged.

My MoneyJar account is blocked

My MoneyJar account is blocked, but a Sepa transfer in the amount of 2,400 euros was sent to me, I did not receive the money because my account was blocked, but this transfer was not returned back to the sender. It turns out that MoneyJar was stolen by someone else's money...

The account was blocked, there was money left in the account, they didn’t withdraw money for a long time, support answered the same thing, support really couldn’t solve anything or tell me when I’ll get my money

Account blocked still with money. Trash bank!

Account blocked still with money, and my salary that never arrived!

I received a physical card at home and tried to unlock it, I couldn't and gave up, then I realized that I could no longer make payments with the card, they even blocked what was registered in my Apple Pay, minutes later my entire account was blocked, my salary never arrived and the company confirms the transfer. Customer Service takes hours to respond and always with robotic responses that don't get anywhere. I have money in the account and I can't access it and the salary I received I want it to be returned or that I can receive it and immediately take it out of this garbage bank!

There is no decent help, they simply block the account and do not say anything, just email asking for documents and vouchers, but they never help or give a satisfaction about the case!

Card got blocked with all money while I am abroad

My card got suspended without an adequate explanation. After 4 days of chatting with customer support which takes forever to answer, I have received news that my account is blocked permanently. Even though I have provided all documentation, they simply wrote sorry.
I am currently in the other country without access to my money, I can't get a hotel, food. I didn't take much cash with me, because I was trusting this bank
İf there were humans working in this company I hope they would actually look into the matter. People rely on the banks, they give them their honestly earned money.
There is simply no way to be more angry and hopeless as I am now. I lost all my money and I am not even home

bank completely uncommitted to its customers, deposits often take a long time to reach the account and I've had a problem with the bank disappearing with the money and informing that there is no specific deadline for the investigation

Best option for an expat

I wasnt getting anywhere with traditional banks - having just arrived in the country I didnt have a proof of address in my name etc, and I was in risk of not getting paid. No Bank Account also meant no utilities - Gas, Electricity! Money Jar account opening was seemless. I had my IBAN in a matter of minutes. Utility providers accepted it no problem and set up my direct debits allowing me to settle in.

Edit: after complaining here on trust pilot I was only then contacted more regularly by customer support but my problem was never fixed. I was also asked by them to improve my trust pilot score which shocked me.
Transactions not appearing until many weeks later and then only when contacting customer services who told me to continue waiting and that my account would be refreshed when the team got to it. Debit card hasn't worked numerous times when trying to make small purchases (despite having funds of thousands in the account). Customer Service copy and pastes the same responses in the chat on and on and even ignored my request to explain how to make an official complaint, despite asking 3 times in the same one chat. Template emails keep getting sent without the fields filled in. It doesn't sound pretty and it's really not.
