This seller The Wool Shop is NJ Yarn Distributors Ltd trading as RKM Wools.

I ordered wool without checking the reviews and never actually received it. A refund was promised, also never received. No proactive communication as apparently the wool I ordered wasn’t in stock, they had no intention of advising this to me until I chased. Clearly have no intention of refunding me either.

Don’t waste your time, raise a PayPal case immediately as goods not received. Or if you’ve not used PayPal, please raise a chargeback with your bank for goods or refund not received. They deserve zero stars but I’m unable to award this!

BUYER BEWARE
Would like to give minus stars but there is no option. Placed an order on 30/01/24, marked as completed 05/02/24. As of today 19/02/24 I still have not received the wool. Finally (after trying all week) got through to the mobile number and a lady said my order was "on hold", then she changed and said its dispatched. Lies. The company has been dissolved as of 10/01/24 yet they still continue to take orders from the website which is illegal. Look on Companies House. This person has opened up many a wool shop and dissolved them. Absolute disgrace to take advantage of people in this way. Lowest of the low.
UPDATE. I have had a refund via PayPal of £3.03...when in fact the total amount was over £18. SCAMMER, the seller has done this so the case can be closed. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Don't use this seller

Don't use this seller. I wish I'd read these reviews first. A month after placing the order I still have not received it and PayPal are delaying giving a refund as the seller has given a parcel tracking number. The number shows that Evri are still waiting to collect the order from the seller.
The seller has failed to return my email.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

If I could put 0 stars I would.
This has to be the worst experience for buying yarn.
I ordered 9th January and still waiting for part of my order.
I received no shipping information, sent several emails and online form with no response.
I only heard with one message once I escalated to PayPal.
Still on going open case with them.
Also agree on companies house this company states dissolved!!!
They should close this site down and all I can say is please do not buy from this company. It is nothing but hassle and you won’t get your order

Company Ceased Trading but still selling !!

UPDATE:-
THIS COMPANY HAS CEASED TRADING BUT STILL SELLING ONLINE!!
I GOT MY £59.90 refunded by PAYPAL after they failed to reply!!
The Ordered £59.90 of wool after 10 days the order was still being processed with no delivery date, I contacted via email no reply, sent email via Pay Pal still no reply, I’ve asked Pay Pal to get a refund.
Started panicking when I found reviews on this site and found links on Gov Companies House saying the Company ceased trading and the RKM wool group went into receivership on the 11 January 2024.
Might explain the problems customers are having!!

Ordered wool before xmas arrived on the…

Ordered wool before xmas arrived on the 27th of December. Wrong brand and shade. Tried ringing them. Sent numerous emails via their original correspondence, returns procedure on their website, PayPal dispute but still nothing. Tried ringing them and no answer and no facility of leaving a message. Very poor customer service. I've been in retail for 40yrs and this is the worst company I've dealt with. AVOID BUYING FROM THEM
Since i put this up. They told paypal they would send me the right wool only if i sent back the wrong one they sent me at my own expense. Not acceptable. Escalated it to paypal and i won my case.

SO PLEASE DON'T BUY FROM THEM

No yarn and no communication

Ordered before Christmas a few weeks ago. Was told by evri that they had tried to collect twice and were unsuccessful. Not sure where the blame lay but no phone number, 3 emails and weeks later I have gone to PayPal for a refund. Still no contact, it would have been nice to have had a courtesy response. Rubbish.

I would go else where for your wool orders.

I have made multiple orders with this online shop, there are long delivery times with no updates on dispatch, I have emailed multiple times requesting delivery times with no response and 2 orders were missing items, I have emailed them but I don't expect an answer or to receive the missing items!

Took a week - but no problems

Ordered some yarn on Tues 21st November - when digging around their website for delivery costs I noticed the information that they work on a rolling stock basis and orders may take a while. I chanced it as their prices were good for what I needed. By Fri 24th I’d not had any update as to when I could expect my order so sent them an email. I didn’t receive a response to my email and panicked when I’d visited TrustPilot and read a lot of the reviews! I then contacted a different email address which I found on the PayPal receipt on Tues 28th Nov and had a response within a couple of hours that it was due to be delivered the next day. It did arrive Weds 29th all correct.

I agree with a previous reviewer that the company would benefit having their rolling stock/delivery timescales more prominent on their website.

If I could give less than one star I would!. They are basically taking money and not fulfilling their orders. They are also not responding when trying to make contact with them! Hopefully unlike me people will read the reviews and avoid purchasing at all cost!

Very poor

Like so many others should have checked the reviews for this company. Ordered 3 different items on 22 Oct, items had not arrived by 4 Nov, I emailed the seller for an update but received no response, no tracking or updates. Would not use this company again.
PayPal refunded.

Should have checked Trust Pilot

Oh dear, why didn’t I check Trust Pilot before ordering!
Was attracted by the wool I wanted being ‘available’ at a good price. Still waiting for part of my order and will go to Pay Pal for a refund if it doesn’t turn up soon. Very frustrating and disappointing.

To all the bad reviews

To all the bad reviews, this company operates differently. I only knew this after ordering twice and researching made me worried. However since I wasn’t too urgent, I received my orders in 7 days. So that isn’t much of an issue for me.

Despite them operating differently than normal stores, I cannot fault them for sole bad reviews. However the company should mention this on the front page of the website. As many don’t check the delivery page.

Overall I wouldn’t boycott them, unless I require products urgently.

Terrible service

I’ve just read these reviews and have to say I’ve had an identical experience. Ordered 29.12.22, and waited, appreciating it was over the new year period. Wool never arrived, but money taken. 2 emails and phone call and no response. I’ve opened a PayPal claim now. Do not use this shop. Never had problems with any other yarn retailer but this one is terrible.

Avoid!

As with many other customers I found these reviews too late. I placed an order and almost 2 weeks later have just had to claim through PayPal. Revived an email say after order saying it was on its way and the state they use Royal Mail 48 but no wool has come and they don’t respond to emails. Have told all the other knitters I know to stay well clear. The seem to entice you in by having difficult to source yarns which never come.
