This auction is spokes to be no reserve…
This auction is spokes to be no reserve auction you place your bid and you are out bid by the owner straight away. Next week's the item is back on sale again and the same thing happens again. How can I bigger let this happen.
CAVEAT EMPTOR at all times
I am so sad to read so many of the other reviews on here about this auction house, as they do not reflect my experience with buying from them at all!
I was not aware of their auction house until it popped up on my I-bidder list.
After checking out their goods on the catalogue, I bought five items on the day; and despite a number of emails and phone calls I can only say that Kev was very fair, helpful and polite to me at all times. Even when I could not understand most of what he was saying on a dreadful line he kept trying.
Furthermore, my parcels were picked up a day earlier than expected or requested by Kev (my error) yet they were ready and waiting! So I cannot thank them all enough. (Hopefully my purchases don’t arrive in an abominable state!! LOL. I do not expect that.)
In truth I think that a lot of the reviewers on here have naive expectations from auction houses like Newtons. They need to assess the goods on the pictures properly before bidding if they cannot inspect in person, and do not look for massive bargains from the sales of pallets of returns/ex-display or discontinued lines.
Returned white goods have usually been returned for a reason. So if you cannot repair things do not buy.
Get a grip and do not be unrealistic in your expectations.
CAVEAT EMPTOR at all times.
They are a load of rouges selling rubbish
They are a load of rouges selling dangerous electrical goods which are not fit for purpose and have the chance of injurying someone by electrical shock because wiring and fittings are very poor quality.
TOTAL SCAMMERS
I would have put zero stars but that's not an option. The name of the company should be changed to 'Newton Dump It' as all the items I bought - totalling £300, were all broken and unusable and are now going to the dump-it site. Just a bit apprehensive though as they might rummage through the skips and re-sell them to other unsuspecting bidders!! 'SKIP RATS' come to mind..... Also, never seen a tent wrapped in chicken wire before!! Clearly this company have been recycling for a while to help protect the Planet. Who needs COP26!!!! PROTECT PERSONAL SKIPS AT ALL COST ... TOTAL SCAMMERS!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
Can only repeat all the warnings…
Can only repeat all the warnings mentioned on these reviews - DO NOT BUY FROM NEWTON AUCTIONEERS through i-bidder. It is not worth the hassle. I wanted to try out internet auctions. I am unlikely to try again. I should have checked reviews and done research, like I would normally do, so a lesson learnt. However it is a wrong that companies like Newton Auctioneers exist. Also be wary of the extra charges that are not as obvious as they should be, lack of description of item and poor expensive delivery charge.
Newton Auctioneers - Scammers.
They are pathetic bunch of scammers....they don't give out much details about the item, try to take pictures of good side and then send you the worst item from the stock.
I have bought twice from them but never going to buy again, this time, items were missing, they claimed it was shipped but clearly it was not when delivered. They promised to check on CCTV and claim they can see its shipped but did not share cctv footage when asked.
Happy to share my order details, whoever need it.
Scammers.
NEVER ever buy anything from this…
NEVER ever buy anything from this company. They sell damaged goods and are just con artists. Their previous company, Newton Auctionners was compulsory dissolved owing many buyers compensation, so warning to all as other people have rightly advised, avoid at all costs
No issues what so ever
No issues what so ever - kind and great customer service. People need to remember it’s an auction and a bit of a gamble. It happens at any auction not just here. Be careful next time and don’t bid if you are not sure.
I wrongly transferred money in Newton's…
I wrongly transferred money in Newton's account, I got in touch with telling them what I'd done and could they refund my money please. After a few emails of questions they then stopped responding to anything I sent.
Not really an auction
Not really an auction when the set the opening bid so high
RRP is also exaggerated
By the time you pay commission and vat and delivery you might save a couple of pounds for a second hand or damaged item
Don’t bother
I can concur with Clare that I bought…
I can concur with Clare that I bought the other Fitbit they had and they have sent it to an address that I haven’t been at for nearly a year and the emails I have from them are disgusting after trying to call them for 3 days and got no answer yet they can email. I will be making sure no one uses them again and I have now paid for delivery with my Fitbit and I won’t ever see this item ever again.
If you want to waste money
If you want to waste money, try these fakesters... you won't be disappointed. The package fake broken items into original boxes and auction them as if they are new. AVOID AT ALL COSTS... I bought stuff from them years ago and to this date I still remember this scam company. These people should be in jail.
Horrendous experience
Horrendous experience, I bid on a washer dryer that came up together with other valuable items from another auctioneer. There was nowhere to retract the bid, no one to contact and I spent over £270 including fuel to go and pick it up. The machine is worthless, I can't use it and I have had to spent more than £330 to get another one. The one I got from Newton Auctioneers was only stated to have a broken rubber but a lot more things are broken and it's very dirty.
The machine in question had RRP £699 on the description given by the auctioneers, it's not even worth £6.99. I've made two trips to the laundrette after that purchase. I reported my matter to Ibidder without any success but I am not giving up. This auctioneer should not be allowed to trade, they're taking people's money for worthless products without any lawful justification.
I will find another channel to stop this criminal behaviour and get my money back. Next step name and shame on social media platforms and writing to the BBC. This has to end before a lot more people lose their money.
Do not trade with this company!!
Do not trade with this company!!
I bought an item which was unboxed, when we got it home we found two essential parts missing making the item un-useable and not fit for purpose.
The picture didnt show the missing items and it didnt list the item as incomplete and not useable.
I have emailed several times no replies.
I rang numerous times no answer, when I got an answer the person told me that I bought the item as seen.
I asked to speak to a manager who wasnt available I was asked to ring back have tried no answer.
Complete waste of my money and I have a worthless item.
I now have to try and buy these items to repair the product, this shouldnt be necessary.
Totally unacceptable customer service, I wish I had read the reviews before trading with this company.
I have used other auction sites with complete satisfaction.
Very unprofessional ... still no response ...
I have bought 3 items from Newton before Xmas 2020 and one of them was described as brand new, without box. This item arrived damaged ... by courier or it was damaged already ... I don't know. Apart from that their courier company took almost 3 weeks to deliver!
I have emailed Newton before Xmas, as soon as the parcel arrived and haven't heard from them yet ... it is 8th February now!
Very unprofessional ...
UPDATE
It is now February 23rd and guess what??? No contact from anyone at Newton Auctioneers ...
Some will say call them but I have used email address, which they have used to respond very promptly ... i have emailed several times now and no response, it proves they are interested in the clients at the purchase time only!
never buy products from Newton…
never buy products from Newton Auctioneers, they are useless never respond to your emails. They sell all faulty and defect products which are not worth of pence
I bought an item in December.... received after one month which is faulty and they did not mentioned anywhere in description, first thing delay in shipping and second its faulty. when i questioned about it there was no response and no refund. I have to treat it as rubbish throwing it on us.

I have been interested in an item with NEWTON AUCTIONEERS who after several attempts to contact them with regards to an auction that ends tomorrow, have not once made an effort to respond.
I appreciate that we’re in lock down; and the logistics of this was actually one of the three questions I needed to ask; due to not being able to go down to the unit as a result of lockdown.
I have decided that due to uploading a catalogue photo rather than an actual photo, and therefore declining to answer my questions regarding the condition of the item, and how I am able to receive this, have decided not to bid on this.
There is no excuse because we all have internet access and whilst in these difficult times whilst we may not be in the office, however given the auction remains live there is no excuse as we can certainly answer an email; three of which were sent (I also called them twice which rang out both within the opening times specified on their website).
There ethos and business attitude is unacceptable.
Regards, Miss EYRE
I bought 2 items spent £400 the items…
