I’d leave zero stars if that was possible ...
Like everyone else here, my advice would be to avoid this firm at all costs. I bought two food mixers at one of their auctions - they were in their original boxes so you’d expect them to be at least nearly new. They charged £30 - ! - delivery. You can only pay by bank transfer so don’t get any credit card protection, which I’m sure is deliberate. When they arrived, they were both used : one worked and one didn’t. I sent the non working one back ( at a cost of £6.90) and emailed them but they have said It’s down to me because of ‘auction law’. It would have been cheaper to buy one new mixer than buy from these thieves. Shabby people and a rotten business - avoid at all costs.

Buyer beware!

I wanted to see for myself if this place really did live up to its reputation and it certainly did just that! I got a Henry hoover from their recent auction. RRP advertised on the auction listing (£199.99) for a brand new one. Boxed with all accessories. What they failed to mention in the listing was that it was a used vacuum cleaner with a full bag of rubbish inside! and with only the main hose and brush, no spare bags, no other cleaning accessories. Disgusting! Please beware!

I recently purchased through the auction a beautiful swiss watch and this was shown
Off in a lovely leather box. When it arrived the box had been obliterated during the journey. I rang the courier company who referred me back to the auction house. After several attempts for some form of resolution I will probably have to go through a small claims court. I just get fobbed off when I contact them. There £10 charge for postage should have covered insurance for damage. Just another way to make more profit for them. I am not alone in receiving atrocious customer service. I have sent another email last week (24th june) and received no response. This was my first purchase through them and the last, shame.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE, they will rob you of your money and send you items that DO NOT WORK, they don't describe items properly and are fully dishonest to the fullest extent of the work. Advertise goods with stock photos to look new, what you get is nothing like the photo or the description.
Dont tell you that items are broken or faulty or missing parts that are required to get them to work.

Unprofessional and Disgusting…

Unprofessional and Disgusting practices. I recieved a package for 3 items I won at auction, which I paid £15 for delivery on a bill of £38.38. But the real problem was they sent an electronic bin with food scraps all over it. It would be bad enough but in this day and age, who knows what else it was contaminated with. Ibidder is still advertising this company even though I have complained

Ceased trading on COMPANIES HOUSE

COMPANIES HOUSE WEBSITE STATES - Newton Auctioneers CEASED TRADING IN 2019 !!!!!

I was sent an invoice by Newton Auctioneers following a successful bid in May 2020, but payment is requested to Bayscope Trading Ltd who bank with Barclays . The same people that ran Newton are directors of Bayscope .
Where is the money going I wonder??
If you have a problem you can't chase Newton Auctioneers as they (technically) don't exist. Who needs Banking Fraud regulations!!!

First time I bought at this auction

First time I bought at this auction, everything that they eventually delivered had some defect, rusty or damaged dustbins, second hand grill, but the worst example being two office tables without the glass tops, everything was literally chucked on a pallet.
Absolutely no communication apart from an odd text message. When calling, you just get a message stating mailbox full, probably due to so many incoming complaints.
A seriously horrible experience, just regret not reading other reviews, how trading standards allow this company to operate is beyond belief.

BE VERY WARY

BE VERY WARY
I was interested to read that all reviews on here for Newton Auctioneers are 'Bad', with the exception of one, and in that 'Excellent' rating, the 'reviewer' uses almost exactly the same statements made to me by the auctioneers in their response to my emails - I'm not sceptical, honestly.
I have to agree with the current 93% (really 100%?) 'BAD' rating, as I won 24 items, only to find that:
a) One lot was advertised as a pack of two, when in reality it was a pack of one.
b) Three lots had a stated RRP, however this was for the complete set of 3 tools, when in reality in all three lots the most expensive individually priced of the three items within the set had been removed.
c) One lot had the incorrect (and more expensive) model stated as the one listed, however the one being offered was actually a model which was half the value of the more expensive one being cited.

When I contacted Newton Auctioneers regarding the above, they were nameless; impolite; abrupt; abusive; never offered a resolution; and simply placed the blame at my feet, saying I should have visited their auction house ahead of the auction.
To add further insult, they refused to sell any of the items to me, and blocked me from bidding on further auctions.

Delboy has obviously migrated from a small yellow three-wheeler to a building with internet auction capability.

The Auction Technology Group and Ombudsman have been made aware of Newton Auctioneers' illegal and misrepresented auctions.

The worst auction company you can imagine

The worst auction company you can imagine. They put RRP prices on second hand lots they even put excellent condition on items with holes in. Saturday 25th April auction lots 763,764,765 fabric chairs all the same picture with a hole in the seat and in excellent condition. I purchased over £1000 of goods. A desk that was advertised as excellent condition in a box but had no bolts to put it together and covered in pen marks, a washing machine with a seized drum and an electric bike excellent condition that had a broken pedal and will not charge, a touch sensor bin that does not work. Avoid this company unless you want to waste your money.

Shocking condition of items

I have just collected a couple of pairs of headphones I bid for over the weekend. They were not cheap and I am sorry to say, both sets were used and defective. No mention of this was made on their site.Really very poor indeed. Terrible customer service. I feel very let down after parting with a considerable amount of money for junk basically. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHOCKING PLACE!!!!!!

The employees on the phone and on the…

The employees on the phone and on the chat on the website trying to help are great, but the website itself - its system and the purpose around it - is appalling and a rip-off. I subscribed on their website (first time ever one an auction website!) last Saturday 28.09.19 and by mistake pressed the wrong button and ended up with a second hand computer for the price of a brand new one. The price of the products and their fees are disgraceful! The invoice comes with a warning that if you don't pay and pick up your product by Monday noon you will be charged for lateness.

Well, I kindly asked the kind girl on the phone to block me from their website (which hasn't been done) and then sent to their bank account £60 to have my "winning" cancelled! I've quickly learned my lesson regarding online auction!

I have since asked them to delete my account and am still waiting

Do not use this auctioneer

Do not use this auctioneer.
I bought a number of items and most of them were faulty. It's ok saying 'you should test them before you buy', but that is not an excuse guys, some items worked when plugged in, but clearly had further faults when tested in the real world.
Use other auction sites if you want items that actually work and will not end up in a skip!

Avoid this Newton Auctions like a plague

I purchased three item from this auction house and was charged £15 for packaging and shipping. One of the item is Sensible eco bins 80litre. The most astonishing thing is that the eco bins was not packed securely and it was delivered dented, bent and really not the same item saw on the auction page. The auction house should have put the bins inside a hard cardboard box for protection knowing that it can be easily damaged instead it was put in an ordinary black reuse bag.
Despite all my emails to them asking for refund, no replies whatsoever.
Avoid them like a plague. £15 paid for packaging was not used to pack. Do not buy from them. They are unprofessional, unreliable and non responsive auction house.
You have been warned.
