Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 41 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of products, citing issues such as items breaking down quickly, manufacturing defects, and products not meeting expected durability. Customers also frequently reported problems with the products themselves, including kettles leaking or discolouring, toasters not browning bread effectively, and microwaves having alignment issues or developing internal speckles. Purchased a Russell Hobbs RHM2086SS-SB…

Purchased a Russell Hobbs RHM2086SS-SB compact Digital Microwave. Stopped heating after 18 months; purchased In Sept 21. Apparently the Magnetron has gone. Deemed useless. The microwave was very poor, cheaply made, plastic. The appliance is too small for dinner plates. It was so lightweight when you closed its door, the whole appliance moved backwards across work surface. The mirror front door was problematic, and had to be polished with cloth. It really is not worth buying, not fit for purpose and neither is their customer service. Pile of crap. Don’t buy.

I’m onto my 3rd Russell Hobbs toaster

I’m onto my 3rd Russell Hobbs toaster. The only reason that I’m using a third toaster of theirs is that I’d bought a new one for a holiday home that is now sold, so it was “in waiting”. The first toaster I bought was a two slice fairly basic model but it worked beautifully until one day when I pulled down the handle to toast and it snapped off, rendering the appliance useless. I’m under 9 stone in weight and not heavy handed so I was surprised that this happened so soon after purchase and with pretty light use, as it was installed in the holiday home. I bought another Russell Hobbs toaster to replace it, a more expensive model and that seemed fine. The other day I went to use my other RH toaster in the family home ( a four slice model) and the handle just snapped off in my hand! As one side was useless I decided to throw it and use the one I have “in stock”. It’ll be interesting to see how long this one lasts. I don’t think I’ll be replacing it with a RH when it dies. Neither toaster was particularly old and both had quite light usage, but both were out of their guarantees.

A very BIG THANK YOU to Jamie C

A very BIG THANK YOU to Jamie C, Customer Services Advisor who really understands the meaning of the word "customer service" . I sent a query as more than one item involved and he responded on the same day requesting all required for the claim to be considered. I provided all verification as requested but then received what appeared to be a pro former reply to reject. I will admit I just deleted the email at first as have far more important things to deal with but after a couple of days, I emailed back with my impressions and again heard from Jamie very quickly who dealt with my claim more than fairly. It was a totally unexpected and has restored my faith in continuing to use Russel Hobbs .

Now they want a video of my Iron not getting hot!!

Bought a steam iron from Amazon. It stopped working after the return to Amazon date. Fair enough.
I contacted Amazon support who put me in touch with RH support. I resopnded to the first email from RH outlining the problem. Then they sent me another asking me, again, to outline the problem.
Simple it is not getting hot.
They then sent me a request for a video of the problem?? It is an iron not getting hot. Do they think I have an IR camera?
I can read through this : its seems like delaying tactics in the hope I will forget about it.
Disgusting experience.

I have a 3 year old Russel Hobbs Slow…

I have a 3 year old Russel Hobbs Slow Cooker where the controls were faulty. I asked this company for a repairer and they couldnt help me. This is not helped either as you need special tools to repair this item. Further I cannot find any small appliance repairer where I live to look at it.

Subsequentially I put up a draft review of the product in question on their webpage also mentioning environmental aspects of their products and repairability. This was not accepted more like they didnt want to listen to some home truths!

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. Do not carry stock of any parts that are removable. Suggest throw it away. Is this really the way forward that nothing is repairable even though its a simple part to replace. Not happy and why does this company want to help destroy our planet by throwing things away that are not recycled 100%. Shame on them

Good luck sourcing spare parts.

Good luck sourcing spare parts.
Equipment in general is ok but don't rely on customer service for your repair. Over all availability of parts is also very poor.

This company proofs why right to repair and providing decent repair info (like size of blender rings) should be mandatory.

Because of probably a 2 euro part the blender is now useless and will end up in the waste bin.

Never a R&H for me

Abysmal customer service

Abysmal customer service. After two months my new water kettle was rusted, and I was promised a replacement. But then after waiting for a shipping confirmation for 2 weeks, I called and they said that they have no inventory and that their individual customers are "not a priority" and to wait at least 6 months. Rude and completely unhelpful interaction with customer service, will not be purchasing from them again.

The worst customer service

I pay a bedroom suite for Russell at Bellvill on the 27th of November when they deliver I noticed that it has a lot of scratches and they come the next day to take it back and when I come to the store I couldn't find another black bedroom suite that I like so I asked to refine my money they told me to it will take 8 to 6 days to get my money back but it's been 20days now and they didn't give me my money back they are telling me it's in a process. They have the worst customer service that I have ever seen and I never wish to come back or recommend to anyone

Appalling

Wow! Send the company an email over how poor their item is, they take an age to respond then fob me off how rigorous their testing is! Don’t worry Russell Hobbs, my custom will go elsewhere and I will not be purchasing any of your items again

Fantastic Customer Service

I received fantastic customer service when arranging for my iron to be replaced as it had stopped working within the warranty period. The replacement arrived very promptly which is very commendable considering the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This has given me full confidence to purchase other Russell Hobbs products in future.

Excellent Service

I had great customer service from Russell Hobbs when my kettle stopped working after 16 months, I'd registered it online , and was sent a replacement straight away after contacting their call centre, so no complaints from me

Russell Hobbs toaster is toast. Poor quality, poor service.

Bought a Russel Hobbs Chester toaster on its looks. It has developed a faulty wiring problem and delivers electric shocks on the side. Contacted customer services via their website, was then contacted by email and asked to provide the same information a second time, giving the impression that they were trying to discourage any attempt at getting any kind of service. As the guarantee had elapsed, I was told that they would not be doing anything. Shall not buy from them again.

Unreliable Poor Quality

In August 2017 I had my entire kitchen refurbished. Everything was new including all wiring, plumbing, fixtures and fittings. My wife chose a Russell Hobbs 6KG 1200 Spin Speed Washing Machine. As there are just the two of us and we are pensioners she thought that this would be adequate for our needs as we do not create much washing between us. We did not sign up for the extended warranty as most people would expect a machine to last at least five years. How wrong can you be! After just 20 months of comparatively light usage it has developed a grinding noise during the spin cycle. This can be clearly heard when you rotate the drum by hand when it is completely empty. I rang the Customer Service number on the back of the Instruction Manual to see if I could get an engineer. Having explained my problem, the young lady on the other end of the line said that the warranty was only for 12 months and their was no guarantee on the life duration of the parts in new machines past this. I rang a washing machine repairer that advertised no call out charge and asked for an estimate. I was told it would be £90 plus Parts + vat but he would not be able to give me a firm price until he had seen it. I asked "What if it is too expensive?" He replied that in that case I would have to pay £50 for him attending to price it up. So much for no call out charge.I can honestly say that when my wife chose Russell Hobbs I thought that I would be buying a reliable machine that I hoped would outlast me. It seems Russell Hobbs are just not as reliable as the reputation that they have built up over the years lead you to believe. It looks like we will have to fork out for another new machine. It will definitely be another make.
