Unscrupulous company. AVOID!

UPDATE: nope, the time to address my complaint has more then passed. You helping me to resolve this in a reasonable way should not come only after a Trust Pilot review. If your team didn't help me over email before why on earth would I waste my time again now? You've only responded to this review to give onlookers the impression that you are dealing with complaints, you are not. I would not get a more sensible answer picking back up this email conversation with you. If you do want to do something about it you can change your policy in your terms of conditions. I absolutely won't be giving you more of my time to help with that.

ORIGINAL:
Parkwood provided two weeks notice that my fees were being increased. Yet requires one months notice to cancel? It's such a bad faith thing to force your customers to pay the fee increase, especially during a cost of living crisis. Shame on you. Your customers aren't as powerless as you think and I will absolutely speak up for those without voices. I will be sharing this experience with my 1Million person social media audience. If even one person doesn't sign up or cancel because of it, I'll be delighted.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went into the gym to cancel my membership and the woman put it through and said to cancel my DD after my next payment came out. Did that. Received an email from Parkwood to ask why I had cancelled DD. Gave all details to what had happened via phone and follow up email and they confirmed this was okay. Since have received 2 emails saying I have an overdue subscription and added charges onto my account. Useless customer service when you ring and doesn’t get resolved. This has all been happening around Christmas so trying to ring them has been a nightmare and charges keep being added. Absolutely useless. Can see why so many people have given negative reviews. Do not use.

BE WARNED Ridiculous system

BE WARNED Ridiculous system. You have to pay a month in advance for swimming lessons. You are required to then give a months notice of cancellation . How on earth can you do that if you nor anyone else is aware of when the child is going to complete! Our grandson completed in the 1st day of December . We informed the leisure centre the next day who told us that we may be able to keep our payment in credit until he restarts in May and to contact Parkwood. There then followed phone calls not returned and emails not answered . Eventually we got through to be told that as we didn't give a months notice we had forfeited our money. I am yet to speak to anyone who can tell me how this is possible ! A credit or holding over a payment for the next lessons is more than possible . Come on Parkwood its customers who pay your wages!!!

Disgusting

Disgusting! These people are bullies and should be avoided at all costs. The way they MIStreat their staff is appalling and unlawful, their sites are dirty, the management team are nothing but liars and bullies. As an NHS manager with many many years of experience I am appalled at what I have witnessed in the way you manage your staff…….disgusted! And you will not get away with it Buxton Pavillion Gardens site!

Dreadful customer service from Rebecca

Dreadful customer service from Rebecca. Despite a number of letters outlining my condition and ongoing treatment , I was still expected to pay £5 fee for freezing my membership, despite this being advertised as free for medical conditions.

I therefore have asked for membership to be cancelled and await to see how well this is handled.

I am very disappointed at the customer service received.

Disgraceful customer setvice

Came in to sign up after reading on their terms and conditions online they offer “Discounted memberships. If you ask us to reduce your membership fee because you meet a special condition, for example because you work for a particular employer, or have student eligibility at the point of joining, you will need to prove that you meet the condition before we will reduce your fee”. Staff member gave no explanation for not offering student discount but can for my husband working for a certain company. He barely looked at me when we talked after making us wait nearly 25 mins. Appalling customer service!!! Bloody rude

Trying to cancel a DD for my Daughters…

Trying to cancel a DD for my Daughters swimming lessons and they are refusing to cancel it as apparently Im not giving them the right email address and DOB or membership details. My daughter is 7 so everything including DD is in my name, my DOB, my email address and money coming from my account so why they will not cancel I do not know.

Also being threatened with Baliffs if i do not provide correct email, name and DOB for when account was set up.

Avoid at all costs

Disgusting

Disgusting, they expect a man who is in hospital to contact them himself or take the time between chemotherapy to give his wife written permission to cancel his gym contract. I have the letter from the specialist confirming his diagnoses but they are above and beyond human compassion, understanding and care. No wonder our local gym is in the state it is. Long standing staff members are leaving, leaving us with classes cancelled at the last minute

Membership cancellation due to relocation

I had to cancel my membership at Towcester leisure centre because of relocation and everyone I dealt with was lovely and helpful. It didn't take long and Sara setup the necessary cancellation of the remaining months of my membership.
I'm going to miss this Leisure centre as the service was always great and they seem to actually care about their members.

Good service

I had paid too much for my leisure centre membership and needed a partial refund. With a little back and forth and appealing to begin with, once I was able to provide the correct evidence this was sorted for me very quickly and efficiently and to my satisfaction. Thank you to Sara Rawlinson!

Incompetent and discriminative to the Disabled

We visit Hengrove Park Leisure and are disabled. We register our blue badges with the centre as per their parking T & C's and to date we have been charged £780 in parking fines because the centre has not given our details to the parking company. We have emailed the centre and had nothing from them. Today I called and spoke to Megan who refused to put me through to the manager Tom stating and confirming that he was too busy to speak to a customer regarding their issues and apparently I am not different to all the other disabled users who are also being threatened with court action because of the centres incompetence!!!!

This company is nothing but a waste of…

This company is nothing but a waste of money. Signed up for the gym in December ready for the new year as I had been struggling with my mental health and wanted to start the gym to focus on getting fitter. Didn’t get round to going once unfortunately due to work. Since December to 15th of march I have had nearly £200 taken out of my account by this company. With them trying to take out over £60 in one day. I currently don’t work so it is taking me into overdraft. I am in the middle of moving away and sorting things out. I have contacted the company and they cannot give me an explanation to why so much has left my account only to say that £20 is going out on top of the agreed upon £38 because I am late with the payment. But to try and take nearly £20 out a day for this reason is pathetic. I would avoid these people at all costs just a waste of money and stress which isn’t needed.

Very poor customer service.

Very poor customer service.
Would never use again.
Very greedy and not at all understanding that I had verbally cancelled my membership for my son a month earlier.
They still took another payment and then also tried to take more but I cancelled my Direct Debit. I will now see them in court over the £29. I've taken advice from Trading Standards and in their opinion it could be seen that the terms and conditions are unfair, with the one month cancellation period, expecting people to pay for nothing.

Tried to cancel my gym membership at…

* I have since had my last month's membership fee refunded.
Tried to cancel my gym membership at Parkwood Leisure in Salisbury with the actual gym, was told I have to email or use the website. Used the website, auto reply said I’d hear within 48 days. A week later I’d heard nothing so sent an email, auto reply said I’d hear within 72 hours. Surprise bloody surprise I didn’t hear anything so emailed again. Got a snotty response from ‘Customer Service’ saying tough I’d have to pay another month. No mention that my membership was cancelled or confirmation of anything except to check my ts & cs. Disgusting. The phone line on the email 01905 969 619 is apparently open for billing enquiries but if you click 1 for billing the line cuts out. So poor and glad I’m leaving.

All I can say is wow

All I can say is wow!
I am so happy that I rolled out of bed this morning for my first Pilates class presented by Rhiain..
Presented feels like the best way to describe what was gift of time for me which Rhiain reminded us of throughout the hour.
A Pilates class like no other, a unique mind & body experience to restore and alighn and my aching body and muscles. Make no mistake, it was a workout, guided by a lovely instructor. Rihain pushed you that little harder when you think that’s it! And them making the last breath all that much more rewarding.
Thank you Rhiain. I left your class feeling relaxed with peace of mind and increased energy, booked and excited for next week.
