Clear advice you can understand

My Pension advisor clearly talked me through everything I needed to know, suggesting options when he thought it would help. I've been with this company for many years and have no complaints.

Friendly staff very helpfull

The staff were really friendly and helpfull only slight negative didn't give me a time frame for completion other than that 5 stars

My experience with pensionaccess was good as I felt listened to and all the pension jargons were fully explained, making sure that I understood everything that was discussed. All my questions were answered and concerns addressed properly. Overall, I felt I was given the necessary information for me to choose the right option that was good for me.

Not the service I was expecting

A company using the mandatory law that pensioners must seek financial advice with defined pensions to fleece people of a huge percentage of their savings. Even then, their support is not guaranteed. An utter waste of three months, only to find out about their underhanded sharp practices. Avoid.

I am, sorry to hear you are not happy with your experience. We always keep our clients updated every step of the way because being underhand is no foundation for a legitimate business. Most importantly, being transparent and upfront is the only way any company should treat its clients.

In the majority of cases, we can provide full advice with no obligation. This means the client receives a report explaining exactly what we think they should do and why, without having to pay a penny. The report also states how much it would cost to follow our advice and ask us to act on it. The client then has the choice to go ahead or walk away with nothing to pay.

For certain types of pension, only the initial investigation can be offered at no cost. After a telephone appointment with one of our advisers, we will explain exactly how much it would cost to proceed with full advice. In this instance, each client still has the choice to go ahead with full advice, knowing exactly what the cost would be, or walk away, better informed and with nothing to pay. The process often takes longer for these types of pension because they are complex and there is a lot to analyse.

Always takes so long right back to…

Always takes so long right back to portafina now pension access is getting to be the same, the pension people they use are aegon just as bad should have had money by now but aegon are querying my bank details despite the fact they sent money to my bank account before a few months back, I suffer with mental health issues one of which is bad anxiety which at the moment is in overdrive in supercharge mode, extremely p****d off, this is giving my son serious concerns for me and my mental health issues grrrrrr...

Excellent Company for all things Financial

I had pensions here there and everywhere, they arranged them all to be amalgamated into 1 place. They are very friendly and so so helpful and keep you updated. Would highly recommend this company

If you are looking to check your pension options from the age of 55, it's very normal for a financial adviser to ask for your National Insurance number. This is simply so we can gather all the right information about your pensions for you. You are under no obligation to share your national insurance number until you feel comfortable and understand the need for it in assessing your pension options.

Don't Pay, Call pension Wise

I received their marketing mail through the post. Presumably they got my name and details from some list somewhere that informs I'm approaching retirement or that I have some pensions. I read it and in my view it's junk marketing aimed at people with little knowledge about pensions with the intent of charging them fees for something that they can get for free. It's clearly designed to look like some sort of official advice "The Pension Access service", "The Pension Experts". It offers to get your pension info from your pension providers. All you have to do is return the form in their prepaid envelope with details like your name, pension providers, NI number etc. One of the boxes you can tick is one labelled "Provide Pension Access with full servicing rights" but with an explanation that this is just about getting information! I would seriously avoid, you don't need these types of companies to get information about your pension. You could easily hand over control of your pension if not careful, they will almost certainly want to charge you a fee and make money from your pension. It looks legitimate and I've no reason to assume they are not. However, phone up/contact Pension Wise and you'll get free advice on your pension options.

Pensions are complex and not everybody will have the knowledge or confidence to make the best financial decisions. That's where we can help. It’s not unusual for us to advise a client to keep their pension exactly as it is, even if that means we don’t receive a fee for the work we have completed.

You are absolutely right to be cautious about who you give your pension information to. That’s why you should only deal with firms that are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. If you are unsure, check their register: https://register.fca.org.uk/s/

The government does offer free pension guidance. And while free guidance is a great way to get a general overview of your pension options, it won’t give you an insight into what could be best for you based on your specific pensions, circumstances and plans for the future. That’s where financial advice comes in.

What is wrong with these people

What is wrong with these people? For years I have been inundated with their BS and despite "returning to sender" it just keeps coming - either from Portafina or Pension Access.
Sick of them. Obviously they are scammers who will not take a hint. Perhaps Ofcom will deal with them.
