Overall, excellent experiences with Rab. However, not certain what the “sales and use tax” is, which essentially doubles the usual sales tax. Never saw this coming.

Bad quality experience
I bought a Namche Paclite jacket (a lightweight Gore-Tex jacket) about two years ago. Unfortunately, the pocket ripped under normal use — my hand was simply in the pocket, nothing unusual.
Customer service did reply quickly, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. However, they immediately assumed that I must have ripped the pocket myself.
For a jacket at this price point, I expected much better durability and a more open approach to possible quality issues.
Based on my experience, I would be cautious about buying from this brand, as the quality does not seem to match the price.
I sent a jacket to be washed in…
I sent a jacket to be washed in November and it’s now March. I’ve called at least four times about this order and each time I’ve been told to leave it with them while they sort it out, yet I still haven’t received a replacement jacket. This experience has been extremely frustrating and unfortunately will be the last time I purchase anything from Rab.
P!ss Poor. 👎
Attempting to have the poor quality zip repaired for my Kinetic Alpine Waterproof but a month after paying £16, I have yet to receive the care card or any sort of reply to email queries. However, they have asked me to review their service when they must know that they haven't provided a service. So here's your review, Rab: P!ss poor.
Good as new!
I sent my 8 year old jacket (which I’ve worn A LOT) for repair, thinking I’d have to replace a whole panel - the stitching had come undone and the lining was no longer in line with the baffles. Three weeks later my repaired jacket was returned looking good as new - as well as re stitching it and repairing the lining they’d even replaced the worn off Rab motif on the front! AND they refunded my payment as they hadn’t had to replace the whole panel. Absolutely brilliant, efficient service.
Shambles
recently purchased a women’s alpine jacket from your Watford branch. After wearing it only twice, feathers have already started coming out of the jacket, which is very disappointing for what I expected to be a quality product.
I returned to the Watford store to raise this issue but unfortunately had a very poor customer service experience. The response I received from Dominic was dismissive and unhelpful, which made the situation even more frustrating.
I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and advise on a replacement or refund, as well as review the customer service experience at the Watford branch.
The customer service agreed to deal with the product in 4-6 weeks … and we will not be aboard when the procided is delivered
Thank you for your response , I appreciate your offer to look into this … just concerned regarding the timing of your service. We depart on 24 March :)

I paid Rab on 10 January to wash and…
I paid Rab on 10 January to wash and service two jackets. The stated turnaround was 3–4 weeks, but the process went far beyond that. Eventually, I was told both jackets had effectively been lost while in their care.
Rab arranged replacement jackets as compensation. However, one of the replacements was not available in the original colour, so I agreed in writing to accept an Infinity Windstopper Down Jacket in black, size XL as a fair resolution. Rab confirmed this had been ordered.
When the parcel arrived, it was the wrong jacket entirely — a Microlight Windstopper, which is a lower-value product than what was agreed.
I returned it immediately using the label they provided, but this was only Royal Mail Tracked 48, adding further delay.
As of 25 February, I still do not have my replacement jacket. I have no clear delivery date and no confidence that the correct item will be sent this time. I have now been without my jackets for weeks despite paying for a service.
Summary:
• Paid for wash and repair service
• Both jackets lost while in Rab’s care
• Replacement agreed in writing
• Wrong replacement sent
• Further delays caused by their own error
• Still no replacement as of 25 February
Very disappointing experience and poor handling for a premium outdoor brand.

Still buy from Rab, but no longer loyal customers.
We have bought many Rab products down the years and have been generally satisfied. However, in recent years we have switched to competing brands for a number of products because of concerns about the quality of the zips. I am also sensing that products don't seem to last as long as they used to.
I bought two Nebula Pro insulated jackets just over three years ago (different colours, but like the styling) and use them occasionally: the main zip failed just outside the 2 year warranty period. While Rab were kind enough to repair the zip free of charge then, the new zip is starting to fail again 11 months later.
My partner has had the zip replaced on her Valiance down jacket twice over the same period.
This is a definite pattern.
Rab pointedly stated "zips are classed as mechanical so are subject to wear and tear" but that is the whole point of our concern: source better quality zips. We really don't expect zips to fail after 2 years' (and then 1 year') occasional use.
We continue to buy Rab products but for a trip to the Arctic this summer, new kit has been bought from Arc'teryx, Patagonia, 66 North and Mammut. We would have undoubtedly gone straight to Rab before, but now are casting the net wider. That is simply because we've been let down by basic quality.

Amazing Customer Service
Re Service Order (1002115675).
I have 4 Rabs now and have sent for cleaning in the past.
I was sending one of my older ones for cleaning so my daughter could have it and the cuffs were a bit mucky. Also the Rab sticker had recently come off after only about 3 years.
So when I sent it off I ask they pay close attention to the cuffs and would it be possible to put the Rab sticker back on.
They acknowledged receipt and said it was taking about 4 weeks.
However it came back after about a week, the cuffs look brand new and they did put the Rab sticker back on,so my daughter is made up!!
Excellent customer service yet again, I aim to be a loyal Rab customer in the future whilst this service is good.
They made be expensive but you get what you paid for! Thanks Rab!

Used the repair service for a small rip in my down jacket. Holly did a wonderful job, and I couldn't be happier with the result :)
Great Gear and Great Aftercare
Ive got loads of Rab gear and find its is great value and quality. I did have an occasion where my wife ripped her coat on a fence and good old Rab said if we paid to ship it to them they would repair it for free, which they did. Just lately my zipper pull snapped on my trusty waterproof coat and I couldn't find a replacement online. An email to rab later and a new zipper is being posted to me for. The gear is good, the after care is extremely good. Keep it up RAB. il be a customer for life.
Bought the £500 rab mythic G RUBBISH
Bought the £500 rab mythic G. Wore it at most 15 times in London ! The zip broke after 15 months and they charged £38 to fix it. The jacket is billed as the ultimate technical treeline jacket. It is flimsy rubbish but the after sales service is awful slow and expensive avoid this firm they have really changed and turn out rubbish

Jacket found
I don't know about the jacket because it is lost somewhere in FED EX land. However, I ordered from their website specifically because i thought if there was an issue I would get good customer service.
However, they do not answer the phone, and when it says leave a VM it disconnects. On the website - where i created an account it says there is an error, which i know is not true- and the email to reset the password isn't forthcoming.
March 2026 update- the jacket was found - CS Roger was very helpful. I was issued a refund. - my choice- I would shop with them again.

Purchased Rab Men's Resolution Down…
Purchased Rab Men's Resolution Down Jacket. Very disappointed a hood that looks and feels ridiculous, full of velcro fastening (not mentioned in features) Advert boasts: "An incredibly warm and down-filled jacket well suited to the extremes of temperature and conditions" It cost £397.47 and trust me it's no better than the jacket I purchased from a well known French retailer at a cost of £125. Having just recieved a response from Rab I'm going to change my rating fro two down to one. How in the hell can small patches of velcro stop snow drift? A hood over the helmet, nonsense it will restrict your vision

Shockingly poor quality and value
Disappointing for a supposed high performance down jacket. Overall very poor value compared to other brands I’ve owned including North Face, Helly Hansen, Mountain Equipment and even Uniqlo. Rab Carrington should be ashamed.
Three key issues:
1) The baffles hardly have any down in them - they are limp and deflated unlike the Mountain Equipment one that own
2) The logo has come off on the breast and the back - after just 2 years of intermittent winter wear. This clearly advertises their poor quality to everyone and other reviewers have mentioned this too. They can’t even be proud of their logo (!)
3) The material is not feather proof - the down sticks through inside and outside. And if you wear this with a woollen jumper, be prepared to look like a patchy feathered chicken once you take your jacket off. Ridiculous! This did not happen with my other down jackets … not even the much cheaper Uniqlo. This is sadly also an issue mentioned by other reviewers.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Terrible repairs, terrible service. Ripstop does not work.
I purchased my second Rab Jacket after having the first for around 5 years, in that time I had a patch repaired, a zip replaced and cuffs replaced. The repair time previously was so quick.
This time the repair has been so slow, it has returned today and I cannot believe how far the standards have dropped. Rab have generally placed a sticker over the rip on jacket. It’s not even the same colour and will 100% wear off. 3 weeks and £25 to place a stick on my jacket. I would never have paid for this, I’ll be embarrassed to wear this jacket.

A friend sent his RAB jacket back to get the right sleeve mended as small holes started to appear, however once the replacement jacket came back the jacket seemed very lightweight, totally different from the one sent away , same style but just not as I expected, he’s not happy !

Not the Experience I Expected from Rab
I own two Rab jackets (Nebula Pro and Xenair Alpine Light). Both developed peeling logos within about a year. Last year, my Xenair already had a peeling Primaloft logo, and now the Rab logo itself is deteriorating on both jackets. This raises real questions about the durability of Rab products.
The Montreal repair workshop told me that any item dropped off after December 1st may not be returned before January 5th. That is about one month without a winter jacket for a manufacturing defect, which is unreasonable. The workshop was rigid, with no flexibility, and customer service gave repetitive, generic replies that did not address the core issue.
Rab promotes its “Rab Promise” and lifetime warranty, but my experience shows a clear gap between the marketing and the reality.
This situation highlights a real gap between Rab’s marketing promises and the actual ownership experience.
