Been with them a few years had to use them twice. Both occasions arrive in an hour which is good. Frustrating part is being recovered drive for 2 hrs only to then pull in to service station when less than 35 min from home and then SIT FOR 4 HRS to be handed over to another recovery company…… complete madness even the drivers were at a loss to explain. What could have been a 2hr.30 min recovery made in to a 7hr recovery!!! Pointless! 2nd point annual renewal comes around price has shot up….. just cancel policy 10 min later join as a new customer and get the original cheap rate….. again madness.
I’m still with them because price is good and they turn up quick…. But it can be frustrated by stupid company policies.

I’m glad we reached you quickly, but I’m really sorry for the frustration with the long overall recovery time and the renewal pricing.
Split recoveries can sometimes be required due to driver hours regulations within the recovery network, but we completely understand how unhelpful it feels when you’re so close to home.
Regarding your renewal price, we use real time pricing so our prices can sometimes vary, we would of course look to match the cheaper price as we would not want you to miss out as an existing customer.

I broke down whilst on a trip away from…
I broke down whilst on a trip away from home, Rescue my Car would not recovery the car as I still had a night in a hotel booked. I and my family were left 350 miles from home with no solution. Had a rung them on the morning of our departure I would apparently be covered but because I was proactive and contacted them as soon as I knew there was a problem I had no cover.
Their advertising says be ready for what’s round the corner which I thought I was but now I will have to get decent honest breakdown cover.
It is totally ludicrous to have national recovery and be left 350 miles from home - they quoted £2k for national recovery. Even worse because of the policy with RMC when I joined a reputable breakdown service with an existing breakdown they would only cover me for roadside assistance, if I had joined them first they would have taken my car home no questions asked.
RMC are cheap for a reason!

I completely understand how frustrating it must have felt to be so far from home and still not be able to use the national recovery you believed you had in place.
The reason our team could not recover you home in this instance is because, under the terms of the policy, recovery is provided either to your home or to your onward destination , whichever is closest. As you still had a night remaining at your hotel and had not yet started your return journey, your onward destination at that point was the hotel, not your home address, so we were not able to authorise recovery all the way back home under the policy cover.
