First class service from Robinsons
I took our (nearly new) motorhome to Robinsons with a fault on the hot water system. Linda took my initial call and I immediately felt I had found a company that would try to help me.
I got an appointment within a couple of weeks. The supplier I purchased my motorhome from (who claim to be “the UKs largest motorhome dealer”) expected me to wait 5 months for an appointment to look at the problem!
When I arrived at Robinsons Linda asked John to look at the problem. Within 10mins test John had sorted the fault on my motorhome and I was on my way with no charge for his excellent prompt attention.
It was such a pleasure to speak to be able to get a job done so quickly without all the red tape of the UK’s largest motorhome dealer, and to be able to discuss the issue face to face with a clearly very knowledgeable expert.
Robinsons will be my first choice for any further service related matters.
Great service
We met Scott Poxon, sales consultant while looking for a new caravan. Lovely gent to deal with, no pressure selling but just friendly guidance and advise. He has kept us updated promptly throughout the purchase process and we'd have no hesitation in recommending Scott at Robinsons Caravans.
After Robinsons get your money they are not interested
After buying our van from Robinsons Worksop. We decided to let them do the first service.
Firstly after purchasing the van we arranged a day with them to help us get the van to the storage centre and show us how to set up. All promises before they had full payment. Never happened on the day my husband put in half a days holiday. Next day just took it and parked it up and left.
Year later.
Booked our van in for a service for a Friday, Monday before my husband made a special trip to go to your office to tell you about to issues we had with the van.
1. Had to have the water housing replaced as it let loads of water in the van. We did catch it very early removed the water and had it professionally fixed.
2. the charger on the battery was not charging up on on solar and when connected to the car.
3 asked for your team to fix the towing elec lead as accidentally it got dragged.
Also offered the information we had warranty.
Friday afternoon a call : 2 issues needed addressing . After the lady going through what was wrong had to stop her and said we knew and could we go ahead with getting these fixed with our warranty.
The battery would probably need to be sent away. Disappointed but if that needs to be done fare enough. But we have 2 outings booked could there be any way you could help with something temporary. Nothing.
She then said could not fix the water ingress unless we had photos of the damage part ? No but we had all the paperwork from the reputable caravan repair place. No not good enough??
So after calling the caravan repair shop who did the water housing to see if they did have a photo they where utterly confused why you would need it not going into details but they offered to put everything right via the warranty as they are registered with the same place and would try and help us out with giving us a spare fully charged battery so we can get away on our 2 weekends we have booked.
When we came to collect the van on Saturday the lady was adamant the information was given to someone else in the office and wasn’t offered to the guys working on the van. Husband wasn’t happy as it was her we was talking to on Saturday who wrote everything down on Monday ( I didn’t know at this time)
We was charged £299 for the service when we was told £250 and insult to injury the perfectly good breakaway cable was replace and the other lead left even though there was tape around it? Why not pick this up he was so livid he just wanted to leave.
It has saddened us as we brought the van from you we buy lots of items from your shop and said from day one we wanted to keep with Robinsons. After this we sadly won’t be the customer service we have received from the other place is second to none.
A very unhappy customer who sadly have lost faith with Robinsons. Emailed all the above but been totally ignored.

Stay away please as once they got your money that’s it. It’s almost 2 years we’ve been waiting for a repair of a blind on our coachman caravan and when you phone they tell you a lot of lies. The department they call after sales should be rename ( dead end ). I would not recommend them to no one.
After sales appalling
Bought a brand new Eldiss 550 caravan from this company in May 2020.
Rang to report a fault this morning and was told that under their warranty I have to make a 120 mile round trip to them to sort the problem. This was absolutely never mentioned when it was bought!!!
They were totally unhelpful even though I explained that it was physically impossible for me to move the caravan, never mind travel that distance. I was told that basically it was up to me to sort out a warranty transfer. They essentially wash their hands of you if you can’t get to their premises at all. As other reviews state on here, they are very quick to take £20k but customer service after sale is appalling.
As for the so called ‘manager’ I spoke to, who shall remain nameless (he couldn’t/wouldn’t even give me his full name)- he needs some training in customer service. Unbelievably unhelpful man!
Good experience
We bought a Ventura Freestander Cumulus DriveAway Awning via Ebay.
Scott in the awnings section was very helpful prior to purchase and we particularly respected the fact that this item is not something normally sold by Robinsons and rather than provide guestimate answers put us in contact with Isabella.
As a result of the answers we were pleased to be able to purchase the awning for a very competitive price.
It arrived within 48 hours - 5 days earlier than predicted.
Part of a Fixus clamp had gone missing in transit and within a week it had been replaced and also 2 extra.
A thoroughly good experience and we will be happy to use again.
Awning
Purchased a kamper awning, arrived on time on the day promised , excellent service will definitely use again.

Absolutely shocking service
Absolutely shocking service. Been waiting 6 months for a repair that they quoted for and my insurers approved. Called numerous times and get 'we will call you back'....they never do. Quite happy to take my £25 grand when I bought it.

Purchased a Lunar 686 in May 2019 and I was promised a £500 rebate which I never got as Lunar went into administration.. I’ve since has a service and a damp test which it failed on. Fault was with the side access door under the bed. Spoke to Robinsons and they have fobbed me off time and time again so I had to purchase a caravan cover to keep the rain off my caravan. Every time you discuss the warranty issue it gets passed on from one person to the next and nobody wants to take responsibility. Also the gas pipe and valve were dated 2018 so that didn’t pass either. They have terrible customer service and having spent £25K on a new caravan with issues so early on I would advise potential customers to stay away from them. I purchased my caravan from Robinsons in Worksop and believe they have been taken over several times.
I am willing to get the damp situation sorted from a third party as we love the caravan but it will also effect my 10 year damp proof warranty. Buyer beware...
dont go there ,its not worth it

Just purchased a used van from Robinsons Chesterfield and we were very pleased with the excellent professional service we received from Jordan in sales and Carl during hand over. Couldn't have asked for better service, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to all the team and a special thank you to Scott in awnings for keeping our little boy entertained during hand over
unable to fulfill delivery
I ordered a Alco wheel lock ten days ago and am still waiting, they state 3-5 days and when I called they cant even give me a date, why advertise to get business when you can't fulfill the contract, very unhappy as this was urgent and is a security device
Fantastic Service…
We had the pleasure of going to Robinson Caravans to purchase our 3rd van and the service is exceptional. All the staff we come into contact with are 100% amazing, I would personally like to mention a few names. Brian from the sales team he is just top man and answers any questions thrown at him, Carl he does the handover explaining everything about the van. He’s just perfect as he ask us if we have any questions about the van and been a customer that’s very important and Scott from the awning department he’s ace. The staff in the service department are always helpful. I do 100% recommend paying a visit as warm friendly welcome and fantastic service awaits you.

A Bad Company
Purchased a lunar quasar 574 2019 brand new in July last year the van had a damaged from gas locker door when pick up. The company said this will be changed under warranty. So happy as Larry I believed them. MORE FOOL ME. 8 months later still have a damaged van. The customer service is shocking and when you talk to the service department they just don’t care. All I can say is stay away from this company altogether which ever make of van you are looking to purchase don’t put yourself in my position look somewhere else for your own good please. You Have Been Warned.
