on the 15 the disk was sent back to Seagate,

Unable to Export - Return to Sender

The issue now is Seagate support say I am responsible and need to contact the shipping company ...I have been on suppot for two hours ...still no help.

I got a 5tb hard drive for my PlayStation 5 it was around over $200 and it broke within a month and a half I went to the website it said my warranty was valid but they refused to give me a new one unless I showed my receipt I told them I did not have my receipt and they said if I find my receipt they could give me a refurbished one and when I tried to file a claim myself on their website it just brought me in circles and I couldn't finish it I would not recommend this product or company to anyone

Seagate Customer Support is terrible

Bought a Seagate Drive (Backup Plus Slim) started failing within 1 and a half year. Then raised tickets and them promising me that they will send an e-mail to schedule drive pickup. Never got that email. 6 Months of trying later I got the RMA approved and got a refurbished drive. Well the refurbished drive is also faulty. And chat is the only support option left which is not good. All this from a literal MULTI BILLION DOLLAR Company. Never buy Seagate ever again.

Bought a Seagate 2TB external hard…

Bought a Seagate 2TB external hard drive from amazon which arrived literally, 15 mins ago. I've plugged in the hard drive to my laptop, signed up my warranty and then begun to try and transfer my files to the device as I desperately needed the space. An error came up straight away that there wasn't enough space to transfer the 400GB onto the the 2TB hard drive?! 👀 So I started going one by one... the first file was 2GB, it got to 84% and then nothing was moving. After 5 mins I realised so I cancelled the transfer... tried to restart my laptop, however it wouldn't restart until I unplugged the hard drive. Then when it did restart and I'd replugged the hard drive, it wouldn't appear as an accessible drive - despite the light being on. It's completely useless.

I don't understand- there are so many baffled bad reviews here, how can Amazon have this as a recommended product?

Do not buy.

Old for New

Bought a brand new hard drive from Amazon. 32 days later it failed. Contacted Seagate, took 6 weeks for them to find me a replacement drive. When it arrived it is 2years 4 months old. Not a good replacement for a 32 day old drive !
Warranty on Seagate web site says 2 years. They are saying my drive is only guaranteed until 26th July 2024, 6 month warranty. Liars and Robbers !

Defective External Hard Drive

I bought a Seagate external hard drive about two years ago to back up important files. Most of the time the external drive is detached / unpowered.

I have used it about 30 times to add new files. It is now useless for further back-up due to corruption. I have run check disc five times. It seems to fix the problem but then a new transfer of data is interrupted as further corruption has appeared.

My last external hard-drive, a Lacie, lasted for about fifteen years. I am very disappointed that my Seagate had become defective so quickly.

Absolutely horrible company and…

Absolutely horrible company and customer service. I placed an order for a 2 tb internal drive for my PS5. They shipped it through FedEx. FedEx didn't deliver the package. I tried to file a claim for a lost package through FedEx and they said that the shipper (Seagate) has to file a claim. Several attempts to explain the situation through the online chat which feels like A.I. kept trying to tell me that they cannot file a claim. They had no relationship with FedEx, that FedEx must file a claim. FedEx told me again, that online the sender can file a claim and if they refuse to do so I am SOL. Several more attempts to have Seagate file a claim and still nothing. I tried to reach them through tech support and they flat out just hung up on me. Just answered the phone and hung up. The overall all experience is terrible. Customer service is really bad. Not a good thing to say about this company.

The Warranty Claim from HELL

It took exactly 3 and a half months for me to receive my replacement 2TB Firecuda 530. This NvMe SSD which I purchased from an accredited dealer for $550.00, failed within 2 years. I thought, luckily, I have a warranty of 5 years but after the enduring I had to go through to get my claim, I would never get a Seagate product again.

After the initial 2 months wait after sending through the SSD, I contacted them and requested an update with my return because I thought it was strange that no one has contacted me about my return and that I haven’t received my replacement yet.
The predicament which I found out later was that they have not received my RMA but the tracking I have on hand shows it has been delivered within a week of sending to their address which I continued to provide to 10 different chat support members over each week I had to contact them, each a failure in their own right since I had to waste 30 mins each time to explain my situation 10 times over whilst also being lied to by each and every one of them since they all personally reassured me that they will get back to me with an update in 24-48hrs but not a single one did. Every time, it was me that had to contact them which led me to start the same 30-minute weekly hellish dance.

Although I got Australia Post involved, got a written letter saying the delivery was made to their address and that it was signed for with proof of signature, it got to a point where I gave up on the replacement SSD and was going to go through the Ombudsman since I have wasted so much time precuring it. Luckily though, put of the blue, I got my working replacement but it was at the expense of my sanity.

The warranty was almost over

The warranty was almost over, the drive failed. Seagate shipped me a recertified drive that lasted a few months then failed. Seagate wouldn't RMA it because it took the original drive's warranty which was finished. Don't buy Seagate.

The worst ever

The worst ever. I purchased a new One Touch disc. It failed after about 2 weeks. I sent it to Seagate for a new disc and to recover the data I had put on the new disc. About 3 weeks later they sent me the recovered data on a defective disc that failed after 1 week and I was unable to open. They have no phones, impossible to speak to anyone. I have been texting back and forth but impossible to get any help. Pathetic. Who would buy anything from them?

Horrible company, AVOID

I returned a faulty hard drive that was under warranty through post, they then LOST the item and tried to repeatedly blame royal mail even though I checked over and over again and their tracking showed the item was delivered. Their customer service is a joke and you can't even contact them by phone, the text chat is like talking to an AI that just talks in circles and offers zero solutions. They take forever to reply to you and they offer absolutely nothing, biggest waste of time and money. I'm out of £150 and cant even claim compensation because royal mail has it tracked as delivered. Honestly feels like I've been scammed which is shocking for a supposed legit company.

Harddrive lasted 5 hours

So because of the price, i bought a 5TB external drive from seagate that i wanted to use for backup.

But... that won't happen because the drive just plain old stopped to work and the small arm inside the harddrive keeps going back to it's standby position.
The reason most likely is that the screws within the harddrive wasen't tightened proberly at assembly and that's causing the problem...
This means that these drives has never seen quality control and that Seagate tries to sell them to make some more money.

All my seagate products has been faulty and it seems their quality has not improved in any way

The worst product the worst service

The worst product the worst customer service. I can't believe my experience.

I bought a defective 8TB ironwolf. Defective out of the box like a lot described clicking horrible noises not recognized.

I contact support ask for exchange I pay fees to get the replacement first. UPS loses the package. UPS declares the drive lost.

Seagate charges me for non return of the defective product (even if I warned them to change the trigger date since I didn't receive the paperwork to ship back my piece of junk) but no one answered me or clearly paid attention.

It takes them 2 months and god know how many chats and emails to acknowledge the drive was lost by UPS and revert the charge. Now 2 weeks later still no new unit shipped.

And cherry on the sundae they don't declare on the custom documents that it is a warranty replacement so there are hefty custom fees to be paid for something that is not taxable in Canada. But their policy states that if they make a mistake by filling the custom documents the customer is responsible!!! This is simply not respecting the law. The shipper is always responsible for the declaration.

They are the worst of the worst of the worst. I can't believe the level of disdain and bad faith they are demonstrating to their customers.

STAY AWAY BY ALL MEANS STAY AWAY buy from WD or anything else they are just a bunch of robbers.

Totally disappointed with the Seagate…

Totally disappointed with the Seagate external hard drive Firecuda. First, the disk failed after 2 months of usage. Second, poor service, I was so happy at first because the Data Recovery Service was included in the purchase, but it has been a nightmare. I sent the Failed Hard Drive so they could recover my information. ERROR, big mistake. It all started in November 2023, I contacted the customer service, they responded quickly, and sent me my "recovered data" in another Hard Drive WHICH IS NOT READABLE on any computer. I immediately contacted customer service again, which by the way is only through Chat, to tell them not to delete my information, and to please send me the data in another hard drive. They have had me in circles ever since, never solving anything, I spoke with 5 employees every week. Two months have passed and I am still in the same situation. They solved nothing for me and it seems like I lost all my data. I regret not taking it to another data recovery company. This experience has been disastrous. My best advice DO NOT EVER GET A SEAGATE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES, NOT EVEN FOR FREE. It is the worst in technology and customer service, they smile at you but in the end it is nothing, they do not solve anything.
