Andrew listened to our requirements, provided great advice and responded quickly to our queries. The paperwork was clearly laid out and informative to ensure we were well prepared.

Our local guide, Catty, had excellent knowledge, shared her passion for food, and was always enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile. She always wanted to ensure that we made amazing memories and understood the real Thailand.

The drivers (both air con wagons and tuktuks) were punctual, polite, safe and considerate.

The planned visits were amazing and really gave us an insight into Thailand. Additionally, Catty was able to suggest additional excursions for our 2 ‘rest days’, including feeding and washing elephants which was a real privilege.

The memories we made will never be forgotten and exceeded everything we expected.

Everything went to plan, from the first call with Andrew, throughout the holiday, to arriving back home. We will definitely be using Sundowners again, and recommending them to family and friends.

We have just returned from a tour of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, all of which was arranged in its entirety by the team at Sundowner Holidays (Lucy was our amazing contact). We/I normally arrange and book our own holidays directly so this was a leap of faith following a personal recommendation, and we wanted someone to work with us to make it very special as we were celebrating a special birthday during the 15 or so days we were overseas. I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending or using Sundowner Holidays again, our experience from start to finish was in the main faultless, the choices of accommodation, tours, guides, local experiences, all helped make it something very special indeed, and there is no way we could of nailed it like these guys did had we not used plus embraced their input. You obviously pay for their services, but given what an amazing time we had we believe that investment in happiness to be of value - thank you Sundowner team for making our holiday so special and memorable we look forward to using you guys again, when we once again go on family tour. We are a family of 5 and have just returned from the most amazing adventure holiday in vietnam. Everything was organised by sundowner, from flights to transfers to individual tours. I found Andrew very easy to communicate with and he was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. Even when it came to possible last minute changes due to works being carried out on our last hotel. Andrew was there helping and sorting, making sure we were informed and happy. I would have no problem recommending this company to anyone who wants to go somewhere they have never been. They have lots of knowledge and experience in pulling a fantastic holiday together.

We booked a Malaysian holiday for a special birthday and right from the start, Hannah listened to our requirements and put together a fantastic itinerary for us of 4 nights in Kuala Lumpur, 5 nights in Borneo wildlife watching and 4 nights in Gaya Island, this was a truly fantastic holiday.
Hannah was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional throughout.

What stands out for us though is how quickly and efficiently an issue we experienced in country was dealt with by Hannah, from over 15,000km away!!

Things on occasion do go wrong, that's life, but what stands out is how quickly and effectively issues are dealt with. Hannah dealt with ours within hours, copied in her manager to cover in case of reoccurrence whilst she was off and put us in touch with the in country representative to also ensure no repetition.

I would give 6 stars if I could to Sundowner and Hannah, amazing customer service.

I was lucky to come across Sundowner when googling a Sri Lankan beach resort I'd stumbled across online as a potential honeymoon destination. Sundowner seemed to be the only UK travel company offering holidays there, and on visiting the Sundowner website I was excited to read that they specialised in Sri Lanka and could offer bespoke tours of the island, within a reasonable budget.
From my first telephone call with Lucy, I was impressed by her knowledge, experience and passion for Sri Lanka. She listened to exactly what we wanted from our honeymoon and blew us away with the most fantastic, detailed and beautiful looking itinerary proposal which she built herself and emailed through soon after our call. It was so good I got quite emotional, we were sold!
I'm someone who loves to research and plan trips myself usually, but this was a whole new level, better than anything I could've imagined.
The itinerary included safari, beach stay and experiences and activities which would allow us to become truly immersed in Sri Lanka, focusing on aspects which most appealed to us.
The booking process was easy and Lucy kept in contact over the next few months until we travelled, keeping us up to date and supplying all the info we needed to prepare for our trip. Communication was fantastic throughout.
We were sent a lovely, personal travel pack of info for our trip including an invaluable guide to Sri Lanka with guidance on local customs, weather (tailored to our locations) tipping recommendations, etc. We referenced it lots while we were away.
However, the thing that most impressed us was how Sundowner completely stepped up when upsettingly, our flight was delayed for almost 2 days, and we were left at a hotel at Heathrow with very little information from the airline on what was happening or when we might be able to fly. Lucy and the team sprung into action and spent 2 days liaising constantly with us, the airline and tour operator in Sri Lanka. Each time I called the office I was greeted by an empathetic voice from within the team who knew my name, was fully aware of our situation and wanting to help, offering support and kindness at what was a very stressful and emotional time.
We really felt like all hands were on deck to help resolve the traumatic start to our honeymoon, and get us to Sri Lanka.
This extended to the Director James, who provided his mobile number for out of hours use and called us personally several times (at all hours!) to talk through a resolution, and offer support. He reassured us that all would be worth it once we got to Sri Lanka, and we're so glad he did.
The end result was that James, Lucy and the team worked tirelessly, and in a very short window of time managed to extend our trip and to rearrange our whole itinerary, including 5 destinations & accomodations, 2 flights and several activities, without any additional cost, and without us having to miss a thing.
This was truly exceptional service at such a stressful and upsetting time, and will definitely mean we'll be booking future trips through Sundowner.
The honeymoon itself was such an adventure, and the accommodation completely unique, varied and authentic. We had the most fantastic tour guide and driver, Ushan, who was with us for the majority of our trip and made it so special for us. The difficult start was completely forgotten within a few hours.
From the most amazing food and walking tour in Galle Fort, to glamping and safari in Yala, to a treetop jungle hideaway, waterfall swimming and train through the tea hills in Ella, to climbing Monkey Mountain in Gal Oya, to a Sri Lankan cookery class, private cinema for 2 under the stars and helping local fishermen bring in their catch at a pristine beach on the east coast, we can honestly say we truly experienced Sri Lanka and completely fell in love with it.
Thank you again to Lucy who put this incredible trip together and was fantastic throughout, and to James and the whole Sundowner team for their exceptional service and highly personal approach. We can't recomend Sundowner enough and we can't wait to plan our next trip with them.

The hotels chosen were fantastic, small and friendly ones that were just stunning. The driver that they arranged was also so knowledgeable and friendly.

Lucy was brilliant.
She took the time to understand my family and how we like to holiday. We travelled through Sri Lanka, on an itinerary perfect for our 6 year old and 15 year old. Just back from a truly unforgettable trip to Zimbabwe. Huge thanks to Lucy at Sundowner who put together a wonderful itinerary of 3 stops. Elephant Camp was a great start, at Victoria Falls. Warm welcome from the team there. Loved learning about the conservation work too. Verney’s Camp was just incredible. What an experience living right next to a busy watering hole. Our guide Themba was just fantastic! And then ending up in a treehouse overlooking the Zambezi awash with crocs and hippos was a memorable end to a magical trip. This is my second trip with Sundowner and I would highly recommend them.

After a late cancelled trip to Sri Lanka and Maldives 2 years ago because of the political issues in Sri Lanka and certainly not to Sundowner's fault, I can only thank Sundowner's Team professionalism in managing the cancelled trip. But it was time this year to plan another amazing trip and we turned again to Sundowner to organise this for us and Lucy did an amazing job. Family of 4 with 2 young adults, we were looking for an adventure and for sure we got some fantastic memories to cherish for the rest of our life. Lucy understood perfectly what we were after and planned a flawless trip for us. Chachagua near La Fortuna was a highlight for sure, then around Arenal to the Cloud Forest, a small stop in San Jose before taking a domestic flight in a 12 seater plane (great experience) to Osa Peninsula to explore Corcovado rainforest, diving, snorkelling and much more. We've seen amazing animals and birds in their natural environment from a boa constrictor, coral snake to ant eater, tapirs, multitudes of monkeys and magnificent birds (we love hummingbirds now!) such as the Quetzal in Monteverde Reserve. 2 full weeks of pure bliss and long lasting memories. Hannah, at Sundowner, arranged the most wonderful itinerary to Borneo and Penang. Our 3 day trip on the river in Borneo was just magical, seeing so many different animals, insects and birds. Our trip to Penang was so interesting with all the culture that Penang has to offer. It was a complicated itinerary but the whole trip was just seamless. Accommodation was great. A brilliant, brilliant holiday and I cannot recommend Sundowner highly enough.

Our nephew was getting married in South Africa. We decided to spend 2 weeks touring before the wedding week. Normally I enjoy planning holidays but we agreed that specialist knowledge of South Africa would be helpful and contacted Sundowners. An initial conversation allowed James to scope our requirements and within a week we had a draft. We discussed the plan and suggested some changes. Fortunately James gently persuaded us that the changes were ill advised. 2 days in Cape Town rather than 3 ?
We were sent a detailed pack that proved very helpful. The accomodation was excellent , the distances between stopping off points sensible ( never more than 2 1/2 hours drive ) and we had a wonderful variety of experiences. Hats off to James and the Sundowner's team. And the wedding was great too !

This is our second holiday with Sundowner, previously they helped us plan a 3 week trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. That was fabulous and so we had absolutely no hesitation in asking for their expertise help again.

This time a 4 week trip to India and Borneo. Initially we didn't know if this intinary would work as it is not a usual combination.. However thanks to Hannah she soon came up with an exceptional plan which worked very smoothly.

The trip was amazing, fantastic, wonderful and practically perfect in every way!

So huge Thanks to Hannah and the team - the itinerary was faultless, the hotels & homesteads were fabulous with the houseboat in Kerala, the Tree House in Bandhavgarh & Gaya Island Resort being exceptional. We were treated like VIPs, we ate like Kings and we saw so so much, making so many Memory Moments. I have literally thousands of photos including beautiful & quiet scenery, crazy busy cities, amazing temples both ancient and modern, the Taj Mahal is very special, the wildlife extensive, from Tigers, Bull Elephants, Peacocks, Spotted deer, Monkeys, Eagles, Kingfishers, to Orangutans, Pygmy Elephants, Proboscis & Mecaque Monkeys. The hospitality, food, accommodation & staff in both India and Borneo were exceptional, the ground crew faultless, and to finish off on Gaya Island for a few days was just the best.

I cannot thank Sundowners enough, again for all their help, assistance and knowledge when we were booking this trip. We are actively recommending them to all our like minded travel friends and we will speak again when we are ready for our next adventure.

We had an amazing experience with Sundowners on our trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, it was the holiday of a lifetime!. Our trip to Sri Lanka was totally effort free allowing us to experience the best of this amazing country and exceptionally friendly people. The accommodation was excellent in all four locations with the boutique feel a real plus. The highlights for us were the Sigiriya Rock, the Elephant Safari in Minneriya, the nature trips in Gal Oya park and the Tea Hills at Stafford Bungalow. The Maldives trip at Sangeli was 5 days of pure luxury, incredible views and relaxation which was ideal after our busy tour. Well done to Lucy and the Sundowner team you created the perfect holiday and really tailored it to our needs!

After looking at tours of Vietnam and Cambodia with a number of operators we decided on Sundowners and so glad we did. The hassle was taken out of everything so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. Lucy was amazing and bent over backwards to incorporate all our requests to build an itinerary to get as much out of the trip as possible. Cannot fault anything. Everything happened seamlessly and the guides used locally were incredibly knowledgeable, we never had to wait around for a driver to collect us between destinations, the hotels were well chosen and over and above our expectations. The small details such as the itinerary booklet and tickets presented in a wallet prior to departure were a great touch. I would have no hesitation in recommending, and will use for future trips.

Our itinerary and requests were swiftly organised (6 of us travelling) and we were ready to go on a trip of a lifetime to Borneo.
EVERYTHING was FANTASTIC from flights of which there were 5, boats to get to various destinations of which I have lost count, were seamlessly planned.
A BIG THANK YOU to our amazing jungle guide Bryant whose knowledge, kindness and ability to find creatures we didn’t even know existed was incredible. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say Bryant made our jungle experience perfect! A visit to a local village house for lunch, the big 5, tea and biscuits on the river when stopping to search for jungle life and great company!

Sundowner Holidays organised our recent holiday to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Everything was well organised, from the customised holiday to the detailed daily itinerary. The accommodation selected was excellent and very personal, the largest hotel being 11 rooms. Responses to any queries were quickly received. On our return, Sundowner Holidays contacted us to find out if we were happy with the holiday, which we were, and to elicit any possible improvements. I found Sundowners by chance on the web and as they were local for us we contacted them. Hannah organised our trip in October last year for us putting together an itinerary we could cover in 2 weeks and get the most out our trip to Borneo. Cannot fault them. All transfers and connections were seamless and took all the stress out of getting about. The hotels and lodge all of a great standard and staff welcoming. The price was very competitive, and we would use Sundowners again for this type of trip. They have the knowledge and expertise to arrange your holiday to what you want but take the work and hassle out of trying to plan it yourself. Thanks again.
