Everything great. We placed our order and it has been delivered on time. The meat looks fantastic and a little we have eaten was delicious. Very much looking forward to getting our smoker fired up! I'm sure we will be ordering again! Thank you

Excellent quality produce, arrived well wrapped in cold condition.

Simply the highest quality produce. Particular fan of the Low n Slow bbq range but generally super-impressed with service, delivery and the highest quality meat I've found in the retail space.

This is my review for ORDER #64562
I had an AWFUL experience with Swaledale. DO NOT be fooled by their fancy website because the meat WE received was smelly, rotten and the packaging they used did not seem to insulate the meat properly (two ice blocks). The meat looked NOTHING like what they showed or describe on their website
On the day of my delivery, I wondered why no one had rang the buzzer. Upon checking downstairs, I found my parcel had been left outside in the heat, the box was half OPEN, as if it was tampered with and the meat was smelling extremely bad, like it was rotten. It is absolutely Swaledale's responsibility to ensure the meat gets to the customer on time, properly and is insulated well.
I was frustrated and contacted customer service at Swaledale, wanting a refund. They however advised me that the meat would still be SAFE to eat, despite knowing it had been sitting out in the sun for 8+ hours. They stopped responding to my emails halfway through and when I reached out to them again, they told me its because I did not provide them 'sufficient information' as part of their investigation, which I DID. This whole exchanged lasted over TWO MONTHS.
DO NOT SHOP HERE
EDIT: I issued a chargeback as they refused me a refund, this chargeback has been SUCCESSFUL
The manager who has been e-mailing me has been extremely unprofessional. Out of spite, he decided to reply to this review and reveal my full name. I have had to waste yet MORE time and energy to contact Trustpilot themselves, who REMOVED their response as it goes against their guidelines

The best meat I have ever tasted and I've tried a few butchers. Supermarket meat is plastic in comparison.

As far as my husband and I are concerned in respect of steak burgers,m and s are sacked! Swaledale tast better and cost slightly less

I am Mexican, and it's been really hard for me to find a good meat, my dad had a taco stand back in Mexico, so I love to cook them, Swaledale is the best meat by far I've ever tried in the 9 years I've been living in this country, worth every single pound.

I’ve ordered from Swaledale for a long time now and I can only describe them as exceptional! The quality and taste of the meat is really something. I like their ethos and story, so together with the meat quality, it’s a sound all round package. I would highly recommend Swaledale to others, I know my friends and family would certainly agree as well.

Had this website open on the tabs for about 6 months before purchasing. Was apprehensive after seeing some reviews here but decided to give 5* after the steaks that arrived all tasted exceptionally good!
Highly recommend this if you're thinking about trying it and I will be giving this website to friends to try.

I personally think they are great- tried almost every meat delivery service in the UK and for me, the quality of Swaledale is just the best. I only order unprocessed meats( so steaks, offal, roasting cuts) and they are always flavourful and delicious - prices went up recently which is a bit of a bummer but sadly I can't find an alternative for the quality!

Very efficient, delivery service. Well packaged and arrived, chilled despite the hot weather.
However, I made the mistake of buying five packs of Merguez sausages following the rave reviews. Unfortunately they are fatty and taste like ultra processed sausages. Nothing like the ones I buy in Sussex, but unfortunately my usual supplier has got temporary staffing problems. I think I’ve been misled by screened reviews on their website as another reviewer thought.
Very disappointing. I've now got five packs of sausages I don't know what to do with!

I ordered a variety of meat, sausages, beef topside, chicken thigh etc. most of it was very good, however the topside was extremely chewy. Having bought two I tried a slightly different cooking method for the 2nd one which was just as bad and my 4 year old son spat it out unable to eat it. I left a review to this effect 9n their website, however several days later that review doesn’t appear. In fact very few bad ratings appear and I believe that they’re screening the reviews to determine which ones get posted. I have ordered a second batch of meat, without the topside, and I’ll just avoid there beef in future.

My first order was faultless, delicious flavour & love the suggested recipes for unusual cuts of meat; Ox tongue, ox cheeks which I had not cooked before. 2nd order was the wrong box, but Swaledale said to keep that box for free & sent the correct order next day. I cannot fault them, prompt correction with no fuss at all. Another plus is that the 'use by date' gives a reasonable window for use as I'm never keen on freezing good meat. Thank you Swaledale

Just received my first order from Swaledale. Very efficient service. Everything ran smoothly as expected and hoped for. Parcel well tracked and delivered at stipulated time. Well packaged with plenty of ice protection and the meat was very good quality.

I have used Swaledale in the past with no issues.
However, I ordered meat for next day delivery, and when I got home (which was Friday afternoon) the tracking from DPD said there was a delay so they would aim to deliver the following day.
This is totally unnacceptable. We are not accepting fresh meat on a delayed delivery.
As it was Friday afternoon, there was absolutely nothing I could do to contact Swaledale. There is no phone number although I left messages online and on Facebook. Not a lot of point.
DPD of course only have bots.
It looks like we are going to be saddled with rotting meat until someone might get in touch and pick it up.
It is obvious that Swaledale did not put a large instruction on the box saying it was fresh meat so had to be delivered. Also obvious is that Swaledale do not follow tracking themselves.
I will never use this company again. I get fresh meat from other online butchers with no problems. Also I can contact other butchers more easily. Swaledale are all bots and apps, like DPD, which is no use to me!
Update 27/8/22
I have never been so upset and insulted by a supplier! Swaledale told me that meat is fresh for 72 hours. I don't agree and it does not say that on their website. (Incidentally DPD say they will deliver around 58 hours - that is today). The thing that has really really upset me is that Swaledale have managed to literally turn the tables on me and say they will never deliver to me again, and be really insulting about it (not that I would ever want to use them). It's as though they are trying to make out they are the injured party because I dared to raise a complaint. So please note that if you have a problem with a delivery don't you dare complain to Swaledale! And by the way you may not get your fresh meat for 72 hours which they consider acceptable!
It's a pity more firms don't understand that a customer needs two things equally: good quality products AND good customer service.

So, I think these guys are my favourite online butcher. Personally, I love the quality of their red meat including some nonstandard cuts. The only one I've not had a "wow" factor only for poultry, which I find a bit expensive anyway.
Occasionally I've had a an issue with the order, but they were understanding about it, it was possibly a bad batch OR imperfect seal.
I just hope they didn't vote for Brexit, I'd be quite sad to learn they harmed themselves for their own folly.
